The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has attributed the poor performance by the Zambian football clubs in the just ended Continental of African Football (CAF) league to lack of experience by the Zambian players.

Speaking in a telephone interview with ZANIS yesterday, FAZ Public Relations Manager, Desmond Katongo said that Zambian football clubs lacks investment in players and that has contributed to the poor performance of some Zambian clubs.

Katongo further said the Zambian football clubs played against experienced foreign national teams, adding that more practice and experience needed to be exhibited by our players, in order to defeat and qualify to the next round in the tournament.

Meanwhile Mr. Lukama Chizengu a football consultant says Zambia football clubs need to prepare adequately, if they are to compete favorably at continental level.

Mr. Chizengu also emphasized on the need to invest in more skilled players to compete and international level, while grooming the local upcoming players

  1. In my own opinion FAZ executive should be lead by the great Kalusha because he is extremely experienced in Zambian football and this worst FAZ should resign on moral grounds because it has taken the Zambian football backwards like HH who has taken Upnd backwards

    • The man you are talking of is BANNED for 2yrs by FIFA
FAZ Can not be run by Criminals .. But failing to organize international friendly matches with powerful footballing nations has costed Zambia to lack of exposure to good footballers

  2. Let us not blame Faz entirely. Clubs must also invest in coaches for them to attain the necessarry skills & qualifications for the benefit of the clubs and country at large. Faz must also do the same. Generally Zambian coaches lack the needed skills to read games.

  3. We should kick out this lame FAZ. Anyone who can show me a FAZ as useless as this will get K10,000 from me.
