Acting President mourns Major General Chintu

Government has says the death of Zambia Air force Deputy Commander Kapotwe Chintu is a great loss to the entire Zambian defence force.

Acting President Inonge Wina described the late Major General Chintu as a national asset who was vested with great knowledge in his professional career.

Mrs Wina said this during the church service held in honour of the late Zambia Air force Deputy Commander, at the Cathedral of the Child Jesus in Lusaka today.

She said the late Major General Chintu was instrumental to government through his experience as a pilot and also training of staff.

The Acting Head of State underscored that the deceased showed his dedication and commitment to duty during the 39 years of service in the air force.

She further hailed the Indian government for facilitating the passage of the deceased body to Zambia.

Speaking earlier, Minister of Defence, Davies Chama said government attaches great importance to men and women in uniform, adding that it was only noble for government to accord the late ZAF Deputy Commander a befitting send off.

Late Major General Kapotwe Chintu born on September 26, 1962, joined ZAF on June 15, 1980.

He is survived by a Wife Evarista Chintu, two children and six grandchildren.

Major general Chintu passed away on January 11, 2019, in New Delhi, India after a short illness.

The Church service was attended by Cabinet Ministers, Defence Chiefs and hundreds of mourners.

    • Wish he would prefer to mourn his close friend and General, than abandoning him for some D.R.Congo shhhit. Who are his advisors kanshi?
      This is 4th high profile funeral he abandoned.
      Even that Chama if he does (God forbid), can be same.

  1. Even the evacuation could not save the general! His ailment w´must have been very serious for the Indians to fail. Next time try exporting them elit to China, they have good medicines so I hear. MHRIP

      only Nyambe Mulenga the footballer survived from that stinking piripiri soup. No one has survived from Indian magic medicine, those witchdoctors.
