Chiyangi rues Green Eagles defeat

Coach Aggrey Chiyangi has bemoaned Green Eagles’ slow start to the 2019 FAZ Super Division season.

Eagles were on Sunday stunned 1-0 by Forest Rangers away at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium as Austin Muwowo left it late to poke in the solitary goal minutes away from the final whistle.

“It was a very tough game. It is only painful that we conceded at the end,” Chiyangi said.

“I think didn’t start well especially in the first half we didn’t play well. When the game started Forest played well and put us under pressure,” he said.

Eagles had a spectacular 2018 season in which they finished fourth to qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup.

“Winning the first game could have been very good for us. But we can’t cry over spilled milk,” Chiyangi added.

Eagles host Power Dynamos in their second league match on February 2 in Choma.
