Socialist Party 2021 Presidential candidate Fred M’membe has called on Christians to join what he termed as a socialist revolutionary cause and fulfill Jesus’ call to change the world, a life-changing book filled with challenging examples from saints and martyrs of the past.

In an Easter Message posted online, the Socialist Candidate said that Jesus came into the world to launch God revolution, adding that Zambia is on the verge of moral , social and economic collapse.

M’membe said that Zambia need a Jesus-based cultural revolution that will recover the fear of God, the respect of honour, the dignity of family, and the beauty of morality, adding that if Christians had continued the revolution begun by Jesus, Socialists would have nothing to do today.

Below is the full Message.

Socialist Easter Greetings!

Jesus came into our world to launch God’s revolution – a kingdom revolution, a revolution of the Spirit, a world-changing movement that would overcome evil with good and hatred with love. And Jesus himself was the most radical revolutionary leader who ever lived.

All too often, however, we look at Jesus as the founder of a “lovely home and garden religion,” called Christianity, a harmless spiritual leader who left behind some lovely platitudes and inspirational thoughts, a man whose memory we celebrate at the annual Easter egg hunt.
But that is hardly the Jesus of the New Testament. His message was a threat to the religious establishment. He called for dramatic, sweeping – yes, revolutionary – change. He taught his followers to pray radical prayers like, “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven” – meaning, the displacement of the corrupt kingdoms of this world by the perfect kingdom of God. He called his disciples to revolutionary commitment, urging them to leave everything and follow him, and in his platform message, he promised freedom to the captives (Luke 4:18–21).

That is the language of a revolution, and that is the language we must recover today, as our nation teeter–totters on the verge of moral and social – not to mention economic – collapse. We need a Jesus-based cultural revolution that will recover the fear of God, the respect of honour, the dignity of family, and the beauty of morality.

Join our socialist revolutionary cause and fulfill Jesus’ call to change the world, a life-changing book filled with challenging examples from saints and martyrs of the past.

“We socialists would have nothing to do if you Christians had continued the revolution begun by Jesus,” these words were spoken by a leading socialist in the 1920s. Yet more than 90 years later, they remain foreign to many Christian ears. What “revolution” did Jesus begin? And was Jesus in any sense a “revolutionary”?

As Dr. Martin Luther King warned decades ago, “If the church does not recapture its prophetic zeal, it will become an irrelevant social club without moral or spiritual authority.”
Let’s accordingly examine our present methods of leadership against the biblical grid.

There is reason for great hope. As expressed by the Vernon Grounds, “A Christian who… becomes a revolutionary will serve as a revolutionary catalyst in the Church; and by the multiplication of revolutionised Christians, the Church will become a revolutionary catalyst in society; and if society is sufficiently revolutionised, a revolution of violence will no more be needed than a windmill in a world of atomic energy.”

Wishing you a Happy Easter!

Issued by Fred M’membe on behalf of the Politburo of the Socialist Party

  1. Fred, as painful as it may seem, socolisim has been consigned to history , especially in Africa.

Market capitalisim has given people insatiable appetite and demand for wealth and the good things in life…..

    • China has moved on from communism to Socialist driven market economy. If Fred M’membe is talking about uplifting the poorest of the poor, equal opportunities to all, with special attention and resources directed towards bringing up the have-nots, the peasant farmers, working class, marketeers, unemployed youths and suffering retirees, then it makes sense, provided he does not touch the enterprising capitalists who have a role to play as well.

Let the established business run by the rule, let the government invest in social amenities for the deprived ones, let jobs be created for the marginalised section of the society, then it is a mixed economy model and is workable. But if it is going after capitalists, killing entrepreneurship then Fred is doomed.

Let him come out clean on what…

    • At least he has some form of ideology. I have a soft spot for principled individuals. However much needs to be done to image build who we perceive as a highly controversial and vindictive Mmembe.
Keep the message going, maybe, just maybe you’re smarter than the double hs and Cks of this world for post 2026 polls
Ukraine has just delivered a laugh oh laugh comedian as a president. Life is full of surprises. USA produced a business tycoon. Comedians in Zambia, hit the political scene, maybe you have what it takes.

    • Oval

No people can compare or compete with the Chinese, they work as a collective , a colony of ants.

No other nation can flourish with a combination of capitalisim and socolisim for social order like the Chinese. A fact the west does not like…

    • The smart people of the Zambian Enterprise disdained communism, humanism and socialism … what Fred is doing is asking them to return to their vomits.

Therein lies the problem because this breed of Africans called Zambians don’t look back, they are a forward thinking collective that ditched my UNIP, have since ditched their so called neo-liberators, the MMD and have now cast their lots with PF.

Andy Of UPND they trusted not Hakainde thus the current status quo … someone once said here at LT that Fred’s Socialist Party was dead on arrival and they were right.

By the way, my Lord is a Capitalist like me that’s why he encouraged Property Rights and paying Ceasar (taxes) what belonged to him. He knew the young rich ruler was a capitalist and tempted him with a socialist ideal of…

He knew the young rich ruler was a capitalist and tempted him with a socialist ideal of wealth distribution to others and the young man could not do it. Why???

Because the Lord tells us to leave an inheritance to our own children and children’s children (a capitalist notion) not just strangers (a communist or socialist notion)

All in all, even his CFO (Judas Iscariot) was a capitalist, he understood fully well the value of those 30 pieces of silver.

His disciples like Philip questioned how JESUS would feed 5,000 people with three loaves of bread and five fish without corresponding purchasing power of earned income.

Jesus’s own profession was carpentery until he was 30 years. With those earnings he being the oldest looked after MARY his mother and siblings…

Jesus’s own profession was carpentery until he was 30 years. With those earnings he being the oldest looked after MARY his mother and siblings after Joseph had died at an early age.

Everything taught in scripture on wealth alludes to personal input, personal responsibility and personal achievement but looking out for the common good. That is capitalism!!!

Good luck with your socialism … not that it’s entirely bad and wrong but don’t lie that’s its premised on the eternal word of truth, the Canonical Bible.

Using religion to confuse the masses is the lowest common denominator for weaker provosts and its a tried and true principle but you ain’t gonna have a free ride with the smart people of the Zambian Enterprise, they are way ahead of the curve on that.

On this one I agree with 100%.

As matter of fact China is moving into Capitalism. Its massive nation and change has to move slowly.

Mind you they still have Old Guards in politics with communist beliefs who oppose to new change.

I have worked with many MBA Qualified Chinese Professionals in the Financial Sector of London. These guys have been sent to learn the (Do and Don’ts ) of Capitalism by the Chinese Establishment.

Capitalism has liberated Chinese poor people who are opening up Small Scale Business. And that is engine of any successful economy. In the China was against encouraging SSB.

    • Mmembe!! This ! coming from you is nothing but being a Fraud Star who has decided to use Jesus to win people’s heart. That is the tragic.

Fred ! You are 200% a Staunch Capitalist. Your Business Empire have in the past run on Capitalist Ideas. They continue to do so today.

      Who exactly are you FOOLING?

      (a) Jesus preached about giving what belongs to Caesar to Caesar. In other words paying TAXES.

You Mmembe don’t believe in paying TAXES. This is what led you to lose the Post

      (b) Jesus was a Capitalist. His disciples went and did Piece Works. Often they went fishing and sold the fish on the market. They got paid and Judas Escariot was the Financial Controller who counted and kept the takings.

      (c) Jesus would then ask them to donate a portion of the taking to give to…

“…Therein lies the problem because this breed of Africans called Zambians don’t look back, they are a forward thinking collective …”

Why then, after the crook FJT , how come they voted for a fraud convict lungu ??

    • Yes Jesus was a Socialist if you think about it.
But today Pastors are worse than capitalists. Capitalists have systems called audit, but not Zambian churches.

    • @Spooked … a convict has a criminal record registered at the magistrate and none of such a sort exists about Lungu while one for Chiluba does exist in London at the High Court and Lusaka.

You can call ECL a convict all you want but that doesn’t make him one. And by the way, it’s against the constitution to have a convict to run as President of the smart people of the Zambian Enterprise.

If ECL was a convict the ECZ would not have accepted his nomination papers and if elected the Chief Justice would not swear him in at inauguration.

Zambia is not a failed state … its governed by the rule of law with systems in place. So, only in your Spooked mind alone is ECL a convict not under the law of the land.

Thus your analogy is flawed!!! Cheers mate …

      Epo mpelele,

      BRM

    • @Nostra … to the contrary!!! Take for instance the Gospel of Matthew in Chapter 8. 20And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.
21And another of his disciples said unto him, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.
22But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead.

Jesus asking the would be follower to let the dead bury their own dead is the most crude and unsocialistic thing Jesus would as of his disciples. But business is business and so let the dead bury their own dead and do what is needful for you to move forward is a capitalist approach.

      There are several examples …

      Epo mpelele,

      BRM

    • @Nostra … how about in Matthew 28:11 where Jesus is telling his disciples that they will always have the poor among them … 8But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste?
9For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.
10When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me.
11 For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.

Socialism always hides behind the poor but Jesus debunked that theory as you can see from above, in other words, he was telling them, don’t hide behind the poor to meet your own personal objectives, after all you will have the poor around you no matter what!!!

    • # 1.12 soiled BR BAMBA…

      Times of Zambia,2 August 2010
PF Lawyer Banned Over Client Funds
PATRIOIC Front chairperson for the committee on legal affairs Edgar Lungu has been suspended from practising as a lawyer with immediate effect on allegations of misappropriating money meant for retirees of Lafarge which was formerly known as Chilanga cement plc.

This is according to a letter dated July 30, 2010 and signed by Law Association of Zambia(LAZ) honorary secretary Musa Mwenye and copied to all relevant institutions and individuals that deal with lawyers.

    • #1.12 soiled BR BAMBA

Why do you think FJTs flats were grabbed by GRZ with his next of keen failed to prove ownership or how they were aquired…..

    • @Spooked … thank you!!!! Thank you very much … the word is “ALLEGATIONS”!!! Your quote and I quote “… suspended from practising as a lawyer with immediate effect on “allegations” of misappropriating money meant for retirees of Lafarge which was formerly known as Chilanga cement plc.” End of quote!!!

A “CONVICTION” COMES AFTER A “VERDICT”.

We have allegations but no convictions for ECL!!! Need I say more!!!

      Epo mpelele,

      BRM

    • @Spooked … again, your reference to FTJ is reasonable because we have a conviction for him both in London and in Lusaka. Both those are registered with both magistrates. Nothing for ECL!!

Look, give me a conviction for ECL and we end all this nonsense but there is none and you know that thus your tap dancing between FTJ and ECL.

It is not my fault that you don’t have a legal mind and your analysis is so shallow and flawed that you don’t understand that the legal standard is a conviction before you can call someone a convict.

I am sorry I can’t help you understand these complex matters better, I suggest you ask for legal counsel or better still go back to school so that you can be properly schooled.

You are beating a dead horse here and you better focus your energy on the…

    • Soiled BR BAMBA

how can the whole LAZ black list and stop lungu practising as a lawyer on a mere allegation ???? You are just as corrupt as lungu….

Just slink away, that’s why your lungu wants people is asking for hard evidence when figures are enough , like 42/42 …..who in their right mind , as president, would allow a country to spend ,$1 million on converted truck that costs , with shipping max $300 k ???

    • Jesus. He was used to enslave Africans. He was used by Chiluba to win votes. He is being used by Lungu to win voters so who is Mmembe not to try and jump on the bandwagon?

  2. Fred, that is a narrow approach! Christianity is a religion like other religions because there is Christ in the Christianity of today! It is just a form of godliness as was predicted (2 Timothy 3:5). Zambia has many religions and so we must not favour one religion over others. All these isms are not perfect systems of governance and Socialism is the worst of them because it creates laziness in citizens! It has been tried before and it’s a failed experiment!
The other concern I have for you Fred is that your party is just about you! How do you intend to relate with power? Socialist systems use Absolute power! Absolute power should never be entrusted to any single person but must be devolved among Institutions of governance! It’s not that Absolute power corrupts absolutely! Absolute…

    • Socialism is on the rise in the West, even USA and Canada it has shook the extreme greedy Trumpy kind of system.

socialism with mixed economy, taxes used to create equal opportunities for the underprivileged is the way forward. A soft regulation of the economy with job creations, fair play and upliftment of the masses is a good harmonious, progressive way of governance.

Lungu type of daytime robbery is not christian.

Christian is the one who cares for the underprivileged, who shares with fellow human beings, the one who works hard and cares for his family.

  3. Ha ha ha ha ha!
Nice try, Fed. Now go sit in a dark room somewhere! The nerve of this man to try and hijack Easter for his selfish ambition. So deluded, you are.

    • You are a selfish thug of the PF elite who have been busy strealing and robbing ordinary Zambians. Shameless Bigzedboy, your thinking is of a small ant (not a boy). Phooo away

  4. Unfortunately the earthly Kingdom of Jesus Christ never came, instead Apostle Paul revolutionized the message to a cosmic kingdom which is being inherited by ‘spiritual children of God’ by faith. Perhaps we need even more faith to enter M’membes socialist kingdom.

  5. Mmembe, trying a new way of making a living? Through politics? Hehehehehe ……. it’s not too long ago when you were a capitalist owner of a fleet of trucks …… are you not the Mmembe who made Sata and twisted him to do the bidding for you?

    • Socialism and religion don’t mix. Marx told his followers to watch out for religion because it’s the opium of the masses

  7. What !!!! Christianity = Socialism??????? Mmmmm it cant be. Christians shall live in this world but they are not part of it…there eternal stay is in the new world and new heaven. Thus they give what belongs to Ceaser to Ceaser and what belongs to the LORD God to God as simple as that.

  8. Mmembe u are lost. And confused. And frustrated. Just stand up for the rights of homos and lesbos, u will receive alot of support.
