Magistrate Simusamba has done to Kambwili what he did to me – Nevers Mumba

Share

Opposition New Hope Movement for Multi-party Democracy (MMD) Party President Dr. Nevers Mumba has said that Lusaka Magistrate Simusamba by postponing the bail hearing of National Democratic Congress (NDC) President Dr. Chishimba Kambwili has done to him exactly what he did to him over two years ago and wondered if this can be a coincidence.

Magistrate Simusamba had sentenced Dr. Kambwili to two years imprisonment for forgery last week on Thursday. After the judgement was passed, Dr. Kambwili’s lawyer Musa Mwenya S.C applied for bail hearing to Magistrate Simusamba. He declined the hearing and moved it to this week on Tuesday. Today, when the matter came up for hearing, moved the hearing to Thursday.

It was also during the Court session that Dr. Kambwili’s daughter Chanda and his wife were arrested and taken to Kabwata Police Station.

Commenting on the postponement of the bail application, New Hope Movement for Multi-party Democracy (MMD) President said what happened to Dr. Kambwili happened to him 2 years ago before the same magistrate.

“We as the New Hope MMD are shocked with the unfair conduct of Magistrate Simusamba to Dr. Kambwili. When he passed judgement last week, I hoped that he would hear the bail application and pass judgement today. But what transpired is very unfortunate as it reminded me of what he did to me two years ago. He avoided my bail application for over two weeks which led me to spend two weeks at Mwembashi state prison”, Dr. Mumba lamented.

Dr. Mumba further said that Magistrate Simusamba shouldn’t be serving on the bench.

“As you maybe aware, after his avoidance to attend to my bail application, I complained to the Judicial Complaints Commission which responded to me recently and recommended that Magistrate Simusamba should be removed as a Judge. So we expected him to do the honorable thing by resigning or rescuing himself”, Dr. Mumba said.

Dr. Mumba then called upon the Zambia Police Service to show leniency and act professionally when dealing with the Public.

“Lastly but not least, What happened today was very unfortunate of where the state police beat up my niece Chanda Kambwili with batons whilst she was not armed. The Zambia Police Service should show leniency when dealing with the Public especially when dealing with sensitive matters like was the case of Chanda Kambwili. No father would want to see his child and Wife being beaten simply because of trying to attend their court case”, Dr. Mumba said.

  3. Zambia Police like any tyrannical police force does not know how not to use unneccessary force. They think policing is about force. What threat can a little woman pose to physically trained police troops? Why beat her? Because like dogs you cant think because your natural instinct is to bite? All citizens should protest the harassment of Kambwili’s daughter by Police rogues. 54 years after independence and we are being harangued by our own leadership-not bamwisa!

  4. I never hear of the Namibian Police tormenting citizens. I never hear of the Botswana Police clobbering citizens. I never hear of the Mauritius Police manhandling citizens. These neighboring countries must be having very civilised police officers. How do they train them? How do they create civilised police forces? ? How do they manage to distance themselves from the thuggery of Zambia, Zimbabwe and South African Police?

  5. Polytricks you are comfortable where you are with your ugly fat kids, yet you are asking others to go protest. Start with your kids going out to protest. Kambwili wife was out of order to slap a police officer and then resist arrest. In America she would be a dead woman by now. That uniform is representative of order and need to be respected. All these years she has been living apart from her husband and the moment he is arrested she magically loves him so much to fly back and slap an officer? Let her face the law. I hope the officer pursues her for assault. The officer is a human too. Just because you come from UK does not mean an officer is below you. Would she do that in UK? Is she still Mrs kambwili or mrs oguchekekeke by now

  6. @ Ricky James and you never hear of namibian or Botswana politicians spouses slapping officers of the law. You f00l

  7. Mumba was found guilty of corruption. He stole money as ambassador to Canada. Actually, the law is unfair, if we compare Kambwili’s case to this Mumba thief, Mumba should have gone in even for 5 years. We are still waiting to hear what happened to govt’s appeal of his release sentence. Mumba should not speak. He actually does not qualify to stand as president because he was found guilty of corruption by the courts of law.

  14. Woman must be respected no matter what ,cks wife is not mad to do what she did it’s because she was provoked by the officers so may we come in not with insult but with a better solution to that ,all we are married and tempted to sin , now you who are right don’t let yourself fall in the same problem

  16. n 3 March 2020, Oshikango, in the Ohangwena Region, resident David Tuhafeni died after allegedly being assaulted by two police officers at the northern town. The family of Tuhafeni lodged a claim against the Namibian Police (Nampol) over his death and it has been reported that the two police officers had been arrested, appeared in court and had been granted bail, but apparently remained on duty. Who said there is no police brutality in Namibia?

  17. and then there was the case of Benisius Kalola, who was shot in the back as he was running away from military and police personnel in Windhoek’s Katutura suburb on 5 September 2019. Then defense minister, Penda ya Ndakolo, afterwards suggested in parliament that Kalola deserved to be shot because he was an alleged criminal, despite Kalola not having been convicted of any crime. Namibia Fact Check on that occasion also found the minister’s statements to be false.

  18. Mwaiche Sekwila, reasoning by analogy is the lowest form of logic. I wonder if your cognitive skills have developed sufficiently to make you a leader of any nation.

  19. Was Jay Jay superhuman for police officers to fail to manhandle him the way they showed their abilities on two defenceless women? Instead, they scampered from the police station. Call a spade a spade!!

  20. Kaiser you are an imposter after brandishing your guns in public untouchable by the police and you preech law what are you apart from you bring a criminal who should have been locked up years ago now
You preach law . You think that you are gods gift to Zambia ? For now enjoy your stolen riches it’s all short lived we Zambians are suffering and Dr Kambwilis wife daughter and the NDC woman should have never been beaten up . Where is the law when you dress PF cadres in combat uniform I praise Dr. Kambwilis wife for slapping that stupid PF cadre . Kaiser wake up and stop having your breakfast and champagne in bed and whisky in the evening be brave to face the public as you’re a coward living the high life on borrowed stolen Zambian funds . The time has come for change we are tired of…

  21. So, Kambwili is found guilty and sentenced for crimes he committed and people are busy saying he’s being persecuted? What is so special about him that he should be given any preferential treatment to any other Zambian? Let him pay the price and stop siding with him.

  22. Nervous Nevers, mustn’t you be in jail rotting or getting reformed by now?
No one is above the law including you.
I don’t think Simusamba errored, no.
If issues don’t seem right, call for judicial reform.
What’s wrong with nevers these days.
Strive to do the right thing nangu umulandu mume.

  23. Is forgery a crime in Zambia? Is altering false documents a crime in Zambia? How dangerous is this activity on a scale of 1 to 10? If I present a falsified document in order to obtain goods or services or in order to win a tender process, do I qualify to be called a fraudster. If you answered yes, yes yes along the way, then chishimba kambwili is a fraudster. The prosecution presented its evidence against chishimba before the court and he failed to successfully defend himself. This is why he is guilty. This dirty coward even used his own son’s name to alter a document. Naming him a director of a company with his NRC attached. The fool couldn’t even culculate backwards that according to the date the company was established, he’s son was only 11 years old and could not have had an NRC…
