Former Inspector- General of Police Martin Malama warns HH and his supporters

Share

“Watch out! Do not cause anarchy by refusing to accept results of the general elections by attempting to assume power through force because you will face the consequences of your unguarded actions,” Former Inspector- General of Police Martin Malama has warned Hakainde Hichilema.

Dr Malama has cautioned that Mr Hichilema and his UPND should bury the ‘Bally Bally’ idea because if the opposition dared to cause anarchy in the scheme of unseating government by refusing to accept defeat, they should look at his face.

“If you are going to refuse to accept the results of elections and attempt to assume power through the use of force and anarchy, you will face the consequences. And those that want to come to power through the use of force; please perish that idea. I have heard some young people say ‘Bally Bally’, they should bury that idea. So if anyone dares tomorrow and after the elections and they choose to refuse, look at my face,” Dr Malama said.

Dr Malama has commended the men and women in uniform from the Zambia Police Service, Zambia Army, Zambia Airforce, Zambia National Service, Zambia Correctional Services and Office of the President for their hard work in maintaining order and peace during this period of elections.

He was speaking during the 9th and last Patriotic Front (PF) Virtual Rally in Lusaka today.

Dr Malama, who is former PF Kanchibiya member of Parliament, said Zambia can only achieve development by acknowledging God’s supremacy, hard work and love for one another.

He said no single man can develop and “fix” the country.

“If anyone comes to you that they will fix it, tell them to attend the prayers on October 18. When anyone tells you they will fix it, just remember the serpent,” Dr Malama said.
He urged Zambians to anchor their faith in the Almighty God.

“Let us remember that as a Christian nation, we have our commitment to our fellow men,” Dr Malama said.

  1. The warning would’ve been ok if directed at ALL candidates. But singling out just one of them is political bias and unprofessional.

  2. Threaten others then end with very holy advice …
From what you have said what if the people tomorrow decide to vote for anyone else other than the so called ordained PF and its leader ?

I think you are the ones fanning the flames of anarchy here

The way you have run this election you guys have brought upon our beloved country a dark spirit and a spiritual attack.
I pray that even those preachers who have been singing your praises for whatever there reason will repent and let this country and its people heal.
Even if you were to stay in power after tomorrow your ending only God knows, but in your heart of hearts you know the shadows that will follow you always.

  3. Baba you are losing and accept that you have lost and give power peacefully to those who deserve it. Your time expired a long time ago. Even your favourite candidate does not qualify to stand. We shall vote for those who qualify to stand.
    Disaster!!!

  5. In all honesty Edward chagwa lungu is not supposed to be on the ballot box…he did his time in office and his 2 terms end tomorrow…it’s that simple but he manipulated the constitution with the help of dunderheads Tutwa Ngulube and half baked lawyer Makebi Zulu….and the fact that Kaizar Zulu has gone into hiding just know that Lungu is out of office….

  6. Mr Malama can you not see the road shows
And rallies of UPND? Are Zambians not wise
To follow UPND?What makes you not able to
See Bally following?leave it to Zambians to
    Make their choice.

  8. Uchiha Madara, you are questioning someone who is a qualified medical doctor from universities of Zambia and Edinburgh in Scotland, United Kingdom. Someone who has served Zambia as minister of home affairs, someone who has in been in police and security services. If you don’t know some of these things may be you’re a kabova. Advice he gives is priceless. People like him deserve to be listed to. Take it seriously. You have nothing to fear if you are a good citizen.

Kaizar Zulu missing in action facing eviction from his tiny council house in England

  10. @Peter Mungomba you got to be Joking. That man is giving CRAP advice. He may have all those qualifications you’ve listed, but that doesn’t mean he is qualified to tell Zambians whom to listen to. By the way its LISTEN to. Malama needs to take a seat and leave the Zambians to choose who is best to lead Zambia going forward.

Martin Malama is part of the Problem . People like him turn a blind eye on the damage PF has done to our once great country.

  11. USELESS CHAP HE WANTS A FAVOUR SINCE HE HAS NOT BEEN PICKED FOR MP ,
I HAVE JUST VOTED FOR HH AND UPND FOR THE FIRST TIME
AFTER VOTING FOR PF ALL THE YEARS

  12. I really do not understand how and why they are urging HH to accept defeat, these chaps are talking like they already know the results. It must be really clear that they have concocted a serious plan to make president Lungu win or simply declare him the winner regardless of the any situation and simply expect the opposition to say yes. This kind of talk from Mr Malama is extremely bias and dangerous, he should have equally warned the PF to accept the election outcome. But losing is not in their mind and hence they want to put serious doubts in the opposition UPND that they have already lost the election and scare them with arrests.

  13. This chap is a toxic fellow , he has so much hatred for HH just like he’s fellow tribesmen. By the way he’s never been Minister of Home affairs as alluded by one of his likes on this blog. Infact President Sata fired him as IG just after serving for only two months.

  14. Anonymous, Sir, read 2016 Zambian Constitution. Read article 106 and comprehend the whole article. Yes, he has had two terms in office twice and been sworn in twice, but what is term? The same article says a term is any period from three years and above. Anything less than three years shall not be deemed to be a term. This is actually one of the lacunas this constitution has. So ECL is not dull as not to understand the requirement. Had this constitution been looked at before accenting to it this could have debated and streamlined. However, the opposition amongst other stakeholders refused and retorted the constitution to be accented to as is. ECL then said I will accent to it with eyes closed, in spite of him wanting to go through it. There interest was in 50+1.
