Permanent Secretary for Special Duties at Cabinet Office, Lackson Kasonka, has advised secretaries in the government institutions to uphold professionalism in the execution of their duties.
Prof Kasonka said secretaries in the civil service and public institutions play a direct role in shaping the image, efficiency and credibility of public service delivery.
He was speaking during the official closing of a five-day capacity-building workshop for secretaries, drawn from various government ministries and institutions organised by Local Government Entrepreneurship Training Research and Consultancy Limited.
Prof Kasonka stated that national development is driven by dedicated public officers who carry out their responsibilities with diligence and excellence.
“I encourage you to continue investing in your professional growth and to remain committed to the noble duty of serving the people of Zambia with dedication, integrity, and patriotism. The future of our public service depends not only on strong leadership at the top, but equally on a competent and motivated workforce at every level of government,” Prof Kasonka emphasised.
Institute of Local Government Entrepreneurship Training, Research and Consultancy Limited National Coordinator, Henry Chilonde said the workshop was designed to enhance the professional competencies of secretaries from various Ministries and Councils.
Mr Chilonde urged the participants to be ambassadors of professionalism and integrity in public service delivery.
“We trust that the knowledge acquired during this workshop will contribute positively to an improved workplace performance and service delivery,” Mr Chilonde said.
