Vice President Mutale Nalumango has assured Shiwangandu residents that the government remains committed to uplifting people’s living standards through various social protection programmes.
The Vice President was speaking during a public engagement held at Ilondola Primary School ground in Shiwang’andu district to conclude her visit to Muchinga province.
“The UPND government has continued implementing the free education policy to ensure every child has access to education regardless of their family’s financial status,” she said
Ms Nalumango cited the Social Cash Transfer Programme which was providing financial support to vulnerable households to improve their livelihoods.
She added that the Cash for Work Programme was creating temporary employment while enabling communities to undertake public works.
Ms Nalumango noted that the interventions demonstrate the UPND government’s commitment to improving the lives of ordinary citizens.
She urged people to take advantage of the programmes to improve their household incomes and overall well-being.
The Vice President Mutale Nalumango further urged the Electorates in Shiwang’andu District to vote for the UPND in the forthcoming August 13 General election due to its good policies and programmes.
