He also noted that people in Lavushimanda District and Muchinga Province have benefited from his government’s good policies and development programmes.
He cited the free education, the social cash transfer, Constituency Development Fund (CDF) as some of the initiatives that his administration is implementing to improve the lives of people
Mr Hichilema said he has done all these due to his love, care and desire to work for the people.
He expressed confidence that the people of Muchinga Province will give the UPND more members of parliament in this year’s general elections.
The president has since appealed to electorates to vote for him and the UPND so that he can continue the implementation of developmental projects.
President Hichilema said he wants to see the province produce more members of parliament, council chairpersons and councillors in the forthcoming polls.
“I want to thank the people of Lavushimanda District, Mfuwe Constituency for giving the UPND its first member of parliament who came through a by-election last year.
In the upcoming general elections, let us not waste our votes on the opposition and independent candidates,” he urged the residents of Lavushimanda.

UPND Chinsali aspiring member of parliament Christopher Chiponde apologised on behalf of other people in Muchinga for not voting for the party in 2021.
Mr Chiponde said the people of Muchinga have now seen the good things that the President and UPND have delivered and are ready to vote for them.
He said people have seen and benefited from free education, CDF, cash for work, among other programmes.
He has since remained hopeful that the people of Muchinga will vote for all the 14 members of parliament on the UPND ticket in the general elections.

Chief Chiundaponde of the Bisa people has asked President Hichilema and government to consider opening a skills training centre in the area.
The traditional leader said the skills will help to empower schools and create employment opportunities for the people.
He said the people to work in the centre have already been identified.
The UPND did not have a single MP, nor council chairperson in Muchinga after the 2021 general elections.
The first was Malama Mufunelo who became the first MP after winning the Mfuwe parliamentary seat in a by-election last year.
