FAZ Super Division side Kansanshi Dynamos have appointed Dennis Makinka as head coach on a 17-month contract following the departure of Egyptian trainer Mohamed Fathi.
The club confirmed on Thursday morning that Fathi’s contract expired on 31 May 2026 and was not renewed. He joined the Solwezi club in November 2025.
Makinka has been elevated from assistant coach. His new deal runs from 1 August 2026 to 31 December 2027.
“Kanshi Dynamos Football Club wishes to announce that Head Coach Mohamed Fathi has concluded his tenure with the Club following the expiry of his contract on 31 May 2026. The Club has appointed Denis Makinka as Head Coach on a 17-month contract,” the club stated.
Club President Douglas Nyirenda said the appointment reflects confidence in Makinka’s leadership and understanding of the team’s philosophy ahead of the new Super League season.
“The new agreement supersedes his previous Assistant Coach contract and reflects the Club’s long-term commitment to technical continuity and stability,” Mr. Nyirenda said.
Makinka, who joined Kansanshi in November 2025, will be assisted by Yoram Kasempa, with Buchizya Mfune as Physical Trainer and Humphrey Kapoma as Goalkeeper Trainer.
“It is a very big honour to be appointed Head Coach of Kansanshi Dynamos, a club with big ambitions and incredible support. We have built a strong foundation, and I look forward to continuing the hard work as we strive to achieve something special together,” Makinka said.
The statement was issued by club media officer Gwen Mulundu Chipasula.
