Former Tourism Minister Sylvia Masebo has been re-arrested by police immediately after the court entered a nolle prosequi in a case where she was accused of escaping from lawful custody and conducting an unlawful procession..

Ms. Masebo together with four others, were immediately taken to Woodlands Police station, where they are currently being interrogated.

Earlier, Lusaka Magistrate Lameck Mwale dismissed Ms. Masebo’s application for the court NOT to entertain the nolle prosequi from the Director of Public Prosecution- DPP-

Magistrate Mwale said the court has NO power to ask for reasons why the DPP is entering a nolle.

He questioned why Ms. Masebo’s lawyers asked him to refer the matter to the High Court, if they knew that the charge she was facing does NOT exist.

Magistrate Mwale says he cannot allow the defence to ask for the matter to be taken to the HIGH court, when the charge does NOT exist.

The Magistrate later entered a nolle prosequi and asked the accused to leave the accused dock.

  1. We know the signs of a dying horse… ba Lungu i hope you kept your house in Chawama and have enough money for lawyers next year

  2. Indeed many well meaning Zambians cannot make the mistakes of choosing a political novice. Akainde has no solutions to this country though to some is a demi god.

    • What has HH got to do with this?? You can not breathe if you do not mention HH? He must really be giving you sleepless nights P…k!

  3. Obatala, spot on! these people are cheating themselves that they can win the election next year. The game has changed and when masebo supported hh last year she thought he was going to win and forget about her wrong doing. 2016 ni Kolopa nafuti nafuti. I’m just from cleaning my voter’s card.

  4. UPND guys, how many times have you said HH is winning and then he loses? We are tired of your insipid rants and that is why some of us dont comment but just laugh loud. Please get it in your heads that HH will lose the 2016 elections as usual.

    • HH can only wean and not win elections. He is overrated by people who have benefited a lot from his dubiously obtained resources. The only time he was supposed to smell the toilet of state house was when there was confusion in PF.As at now,his chances of winning are very bleak.People are just making him to be big headed.Come 2016,the results will just be the same.He only wins in his home town(Southern Province)This is due to tribalism and people being myopic about reality of the matter.

  5. Edgar will never go back to Chawama just because UPND cadres say so. We will keep him in State House till 2021, and we may even consider giving him an additional five years or even ten when he performs well.
What we will not allow to enter state house are those who are telling us lies everyday in order to get power, we learnt enough from ba Chilufya, whom some opposition leaders have been trying to imitate unsuccessfully.

  6. THIS GOVERNMENT IS A JOKE. WASTING TAX PAYERS MONEY ON TRIVIAL ISSUES. WE ALL KNEW THERE WAS NO CASE HERE. EVO VEVE ATI LETS GO TO COURT!!!! BOTTOM LINE IS “WE NEED CHANGE!!!!”

  7. Looks like one person keeps changing names in the previous posts. PF can as well massage their conscience believing they are here to stay. You have stolen enough and its time for restoration. The LORD God Almighty has heard the cries of his people and like happened to Pharoah, the country will experience these moments at an increasing scale until, ‘Let my people go’.

  8. THE STATE CAN ENTER A NUL PROCEURE BCOZ TS A PART IN THIS CASE, GUYS LETS BE INTELLECTUAL CADRES AND PRESENT SOLUTIONS TO WAT WE FACING NOT ARGUING FOR THE SAKE OF ARGUING
