Zambian Model Tina Shinga is in the Portuguese-speaking island nation of Sao Tome and Principe, located in the Gulf of Guinea off the western equatorial coast of Central Africa, for the Exquisite Face of the Universe pageant.
Tina, who recently left for the pageant , confirmed that she is the country’s representative of the event, which has drawn more than 50 beauty queens from around the world.
The pageant, whose coronation will be on December 5 at the Pestana Hotel and Resort, the largest Portuguese hotel company, will see the contestants compete in evening gown, long gown competition, bikini wear and national costume.
“And in our two weeks’ stay there, we’ll do different activities and charity works, too. I’m always delighted to represent my country, Zambia, and I hope to bring home the crown or at least get a title as I did at the Miss Heritage World, when I won Miss Photogenic,” Tina said before her departure.
Exquisite Face of the Universe is a unique international beauty and modelling contest, born to showcase the advancements of eco-tourism.
“The Exquisite Face of the Universe is an exceptional contest that not only showcases the repertoire of body and beauty but also the personalities, talents, intelligence and mannerisms of representing countries,” according to its official website.
“The vision is to get young women in the diaspora to greater heights through capacity building and development and have contestants actively promote Africa’s eco-tourism, cultural diversity, peace and co-existence that actively propagate Africa’s lifestyle, entertainment, business ventures and investment opportunities to the world.
“This international event brings together high dignitaries, diplomats, ambassadors, chiefs and other important guests across the world to support this course. This pageant creates an avenue for ideas integration, enterprise, creative strategy and technology that brings about individual empowerment, and entrepreneurial development.”
