Miserable Zambia exit CAF U23 Cup winless

Share

Zambia on Friday evening ended their disastrous outing at the 2015 CAF Under-23 Cup in Senegal with a 1-0 loss to the host nation.

Mahamadou Diallo’s 4th minute goal helped Senegal to condemn Zambia to their third straight loss at the tournament.

Fighton Simukonda’s Junior Chipolopolo squad returns home without accumulating a point on top of failing to qualify for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

Zambia finished bottom of Group A with no points as they lost to Tunisia 2-1 before South Africa handed them a 3-2 defeat on Tuesday.

The team scored three goals in the three defeats via Ronald Kampamba, Conlyde Luchanga and Billy Mutale.

This was the first time Zambia was taking part in the Under-23 Africa Cup. Meanwhile, Senegal and South Africa have advanced to the semi-finals from Group A.

Impressive Senegal finished top with nine points while South African ended as group runners up with six points after beating Tunisia 1-0 in their final group phase match.

    • Spank??? kikikikiki I would enjoy spanking PF ministers, they are no longer paying attention to what makes Zambians happy. They are only thinking of winning 2016 elections.
      MISERABLE -ZAMBIA.

  1. Yes we lost, but that was a very spirited fight from our boys. Where was this mentality all along?
My hats off to Lubambo Musonda and Chipeshi. These boys have a great future in soccer. I should state however, that I am so disappointed with Ronald Kampamba’s super star mentality, which makes not think its for others to work their lungs out. The technical bench was another disappointment – the fellows have failed to psych our boys correctly and to instil in them the mental strength required to avoid conceding first and conceding too early in a game. Except for the SA game our opponents scored in the 3rd minute against us(from corner kicks), and the coaches failed to attribute to anything. then Kalusha finds fun time to go round collecting awards that in his career, have actually outlived…

  2. Just like Chagwa Lungu,Tikugwa chabe like the kwacha
The sooner we change the better. Any opposition party is now better than PF

  3. It is a poor team coached by a poor coach. This is what i expected looking at how Nchanga Rangers football club is performing. Surprisingly the same technical bench sits at the senior team helm, what help are they going to give Chicken George Lwandamina?Do not allow them take the loosing mentality to the senior team. We need to be moving forward. Ba Simukonda Mwasebena, te Zambia Mwasebanya, mwaisebanya fye mwebene.

  4. WE NEED A WHITE COACH, OUR BOYS PLAYED LIKE SCHOOL BOYS POOR PASSES, GOAL TO GOAL PASSES,SELFISH TRY GOALS,GENERAL PICTURE TECHNICALLY 2/10 NO GAME PLAN OR ITS MADE 5 MINUTES BEFORE GAME. PLAYERS NEED TO WATCH LATEST CLIPS OF OPPONENTS ITS NOT JUST PHYSICAL TRAINING. FAZ SHUD HAVE A LIBRARY OF VIDEOS FOR CLUBS,NATIONAL TEAMS WHICH COACHES CAN USE & SEND TO PROFESSIONALS WHO IN MOST CASES DO NOT EVEN TRAIN WITH THE TEAM. U SEE THESE WHITES AS IF THEY ARE BETTER THAN U THEY HAVE PERSONAL LIBRARIES.WE NEED TACTICAL COACHES

  5. @ J Kalusa
Typical slave mentality. What has soccer got to do with race surely? You are still thinking like that in the 21st Century comrade? What a tragedy!!

  6. …when I predicted that this team is not going passed the group stage I got a lot of thumbs down votes….at times its very easy to rate a team especially after having seen it play prior to the tournament….

  7. Thou who stick to chicken George should expect that very same fate in thy world cup campaigns
Thou who cheat thyself that Thou knows football when Thou could nt even beat a single team in Senegal shall realise that Thou have a lot to learn before Thou can have a successful local coach

  8. Our players need more education in terms of big tournaments.Dey dnt know da reasons of being there. All dey know is jst play a ball and not necessarily winning.

  9. @uwauma nafyala its not slave mentality but slave reality its normal pa zed u respect anyone white. Even traffic police officers dont stop/arrest white drivers bcoz of slave in born. Even u if a white man asked for direction u will abandone yo programmes & take to that place and if its yo fellow black u will refuse. These players wud play well better than that i tell u. Compare workers working on local contructors and foreign. I agree its shamefull but its real. Zambians prefer goods by whites not there local producers for Local u give names.

  10. Comment: We need a soccer academy. Most of these boys are not educated. Confine them to an academy and you will see how far we can go in football. At under 17 and 20, these lads are great in this region. The best is to get them before they get into those brackets(under 17&20) and fuse them in the academy.

    • @BE REAL, Are you saying there is no soccer academy in Zambia? As the number one sport in Zambia should have established a soccer academy a long time ago. Each time in the premier league must have a development academy. What has the ministry responsible for sports been doing all these years?
