President Edgar Lungu has replaced Inspector-General Stella Libongani with a new Police Chief.
In a statement made available to the media by his special assistant for Press and public relations, Mrs Libongani has been replaced with he Deputy Inspector-General of Police (Administration) Kakoma Kanganja.
The President has re-deployed Mrs. Stella Libongani w into the Foreign Service as High Commissioner to Canada.

PRESIDENT APPOINTS NEW POLICE CHIEF
LUSAKA (Monday, December 7, 2015) — His Excellency Mr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu, President of the Republic of Zambia, has appointed Mr. Kakoma Kanganja as Inspector-General of Police taking over from Mrs. Stella Libongani who has been re-deployed into the Foreign Service as High Commissioner to Canada.
Mr. Kanganja was until his appointment, the Deputy Inspector-General of Police (Administration), a position that has been taken over by Mr. Eugene Sibote, who has risen from his position as Police Commissioner for Eastern Province.
The President has also appointed Mr. Wilfred Kopa Muma from the Judiciary, as Commissioner of Lands.

Mmmmh, iyo kwena ba Jay Jay mwalikaba…..its coming out like Lungu’s misrule has really affected you the most. Together with Wanzelu one could almost think nimwebo mwayumfwa saana hardship under Lungu more than the rest of the entire Zambian population.
You will notice that I don’t comment much these days! Basically I am fed up with the childish behaviour we witness on a daily basis in Zambia. A high commissioner is way way below a police IG. The IG reports to the President while a high commissioner or ambassador is at the level of DPS or DC. So forget the country she’s going to, she’s been demoted & not promoted.

Looks like police service in Zambia is the most specialty profession for people from Eastern, Southern, Western eg Libongani, Kanganja, Jere, Kajoba, Siakalima, Sibote, Mumtemba, Sakala, Mbewe. The list is endless or maybe its my observation.

Little I know of the New IG Kanganja is that he is a true professional and hardly intimidated by the power that be. The former Registrar of Societies will no doubt bring order that was left by Dr Martin Malama, the immediate predecessor of Limbogani (very useless IG that Zambia has ever had and all in the name of feminine equality – nothing wrong with equality but should be for deserving people.
