Government working towards increasing electricity sources-Yaluma

Mines, Energy and Water Development Minister Christopher Yaluma
Mines, Energy and Water Development Minister Christopher Yaluma

Minister of Mines and Mineral Development Christopher Yaluma said government was working round the clock to increase sources of power and productivity in the country.

Speaking when he officiated at labour day celebration in Kasama district yesterday, Mr. Yaluma observed that the power deficit has become one of the major contributing factors to many job losses the country has experienced.

Mr. Yaluma cited solar energy as one of the external sources of power which government has already adopted in the country.

He emphasised that external sources of power will also help step up the country’s productivity and further increase social economic activities especially in rural areas.

He said the Patriotic Front (PF) administration was dedicated to creating and securing the much needed jobs for its people especially the youth and women.

And speaking at the same event, Zambia Federation of Employers representative Benedict Malupande commended government for paying workers’ salaries on time.

Mr. Malupande has meanwhile called on government to continue improving job security for the people in country.

He however urged civil servants to desist from engaging themselves in politics.

Mr. Malupande emphasised that the union will not protect any employee who will be found practicing politics in the area.

  1. Zambia under these selfish PFools is doomed. If at the end of the rain season we still have 8 hour power cuts, what will happen by August? And then the Drunkard wants to increase electricity tariffs by 400% if he wins?? And this same PFoolish Waluma last year stated that power cuts have no economic impact! Now he and his party of idyots realise that companies are closing down. What a shame!

  2. “Look busy, Jesus is coming” – quote from Rowan Atikson’s JOHN ENGLISH

    • With 8 hour power cuts at the end of the rain season in May, what hope is there that the country will still be operating by August? And the Drunkard has categorically stated that tariffs will increase by 400% if he wins! And this idyot Waluma told Zambians at the start of powercuts last year that there’s no economic impact from powercuts. It is only now that they realize that companies are closing or winding down operations. And these same PFools want to continue running the country!

  3. This clown really has no idea what he is talking about!

PF has managed to destroy Zambias economy through their ignorance, greed, corruption and stupidity, and it is only now that the effects are being seen in sky-high prices of mealie meal and other basic commodities that they have woken up.

These fools must be kicked out. Zambia has been in reverse gear since 2011 and cannot develop with idiots like this!
