Numba happy with away draw at Young Africans

Zanaco coach Mumamba Numba is satisfied with the 1-1 draw his side forced against Young Africans in Saturday’s CAF Champions League match played away in Tanzania.

The 2016 FAZ Super Division Champions came from behind to record a vital scoring draw in first leg match of the first round.

Simon Msuva put Young Africans ahead in the 40th minute before Ghana-born striker Kwame Attram equalized for Zanaco in the 77th.

In a post-match interview, Numba described the away draw against George “Chicken” Lwandamina’s side in Dar-es-Salaam as good.

“It was a 50-50 affair, both teams played very well. The draw is good enough going into the second leg in Zambia,” he said.

A home goal less draw for Zanaco next weekend should be enough to see them through to the pre-group stage of this season’s Champions League.

“All we need is to prepare adequately for the return match so that we can get a positive result.”

“We managed to dominate the game and created numerous chances but failed to convert,” Numba said.

The return leg is set for Lusaka’s Nkoloma Stadium on March 18.
