Church calls for unconditional love in marriages

The Church has urged married couples through out the country to practice  unconditional love by taking action.
Reverend Bishop Rodwell Chomba says since love without action is ‘dead’, couples should therefore  submit to each other if their marriages are to succeed.
Christian couples must also exhibit their love in form of contributions: cash and materials support to their Lord, he said.
ZANIS reports that the clergyman was speaking in Lusaka today at the United Church of Zambia (UCZ) Trinity Congregation.
Rev. Bishop Chomba said during the Launch of the national fundraising walk for the construction of K30 million UCZ Investment Complex situated in Woodlands area.
“As Christians, we should contribute something towards God’s work. Love without action is dead. If ants can build anthills and elephants lean on these anthills, what can stop us as humans to fail to build the complex ? ” he asked.
Over K1 million was raised in form of pledges and cash towards the completion of the UCZ Complex.
The project is expected to be finished before the end of this year .
Earlier, the Church held a fundraising walk along Church Road towards the project.
National Assembly of Zambia First Speaker Catherine Namugala, Supreme Court Judge Evans Hamaundu, former Attorney General Mumba Malila, former deputy secretary to Cabinet Teddy Mulonga and senior government officials  were among the notable figures at the event.

  1. Most of these church leaders are hypocrites. Does this include gay marriages? It is funny that the same churches in Europe are now recognising gay marriages and the Africans church leaders look up to the western ones. Surely is this not a sign that we need to follow our own beliefs and values rather than the religion forced on us by imperialists who sold you as slaves. The Bible in levictus promotes slavery.

    • Next they will be telling us which stylo to use in bed. Where do we draw the line between the scared privacy of marriage and inappropriate unsolicited advise?

The declaration of Zambia as a xtian nation has opened the legs of every well dressed lady in church to the ogling eyes of predatory so called pastors / bishops / “men of god”

  2. NEZ,you are a hypocrite also because you want us to follow the western democracy, when we have our own grown African .

    • Democracy is not a western ideal please do your research further before embarrassing yourself. Please go and read on the origins of democracy

  3. Would have been good to see Lungu give the money that UCZ wants, where is he???

  4. Does this include all same-sex marriages and families as well or just the ones your moronic religion approves of?

  5. NEZ,you wrong again democracy started in Greece and if am not mistaken Greece is in Europe. African churches look up to Israel and am sure every church leaders wish is to visit Israel. So be a good leader and educate me if am wrong than just telling me off. This is the problem even in UPND, even when you know something that can help the nation for as long as you not in leadership you’d rather die with it than sharing it to better your brother or sister understanding. You’re too bitter guys. Relax and remember that we learn everyday. I always tell you NEZ that am not your enermy. Good day
