Zanaco rise to 2nd after Buffaloes kill

Zanaco beat Green Buffaloes 2-1 to move into second place on the FAZ Super Division table.

The defending FAZ Super Division champions displaced Zesco United from that spot just 24 hours after the latter moved there following a 1-0 home win over Real Nakonde in Ndola.

Midfielder Richard Kasonde put Zanaco ahead in the 10th minute,

But Buffaloes equalized in the 19th minute through Brian Mwila.

Mwila’s goal came just 48 hours after scoring his debut Zambia goal in a 2-1 away win over Bafana Bafana in friendly played in Moruleng, South Africa.

Zanaco however sealed the 3 points through striker Felix Nyaende in the 45th minute to see The Bankers rise to 19 points,tied with Zesco but enjoying a better goal difference.

Meanwhile, Zanaco now pack their bags this weekend and head to Cameroon to face Cotonsport on Tuesday on match day three in Group D of the 2017 CAF Champions League.

Zanaco beat Cotonsport 2-1 in the first leg meeting on June 3 in Lusaka.
