midfielder Maybin Mwaba at the club’s weekly press briefing ahead of
their game against Nkana this Saturday in Ndola.
The interim Zesco coach announced his resignation on Sunday just after his sides’ 1-0 away win over Nkana in Kitwe.
Zesco confirmed in a statement that Chembo had left after seven years with the six-time champions.
“Zesco United Football Club has parted company with the Club’s Interim Coach Tenant Chembo,” club secretary Richard Mulenga said.
“The coach announced his resignation today after the game involving Zesco and Nkana Football Club’s in Kitwe.
“The club wishes Tenant Chembo all the best in his future endeavours.
“The team and fans will be informed of the new appointment on Tuesday, 10 April 2018.”
Chembo has been at Zesco since 2012 and on three occasions served as interim coach in 2013, 2016 and 2017.
He won the 2016 Barclays Cup and 2017 FAZ Super Division title as interim coach.
Chembo this year guided Zesco to the group stage of the 2018 CAF Champions League.
Thank God.
That Chembo seems to be difficulty guy, he really wanted to be head coach.

You cannot be interim for forever even after winning the league title…it simply means the job is not meant for you.
This ZESCO has just been indecisive. He has proved himself and needed to be confirmed. I’m sure ZESCO has been looking outside and to announce a coach this Tuesday means they already had someone in mind. It’s no different from marrying immediately after burial of your deceased spouse

Good seeing Maybin Mwaba formerly of brave Nchanga Rangers. Still remember his Elder brother ‘Zifa’ Mwamba in that brilliant U20 team in Canada under Patrick Phiri. Best wishes Chembo. I don’t think Zesco management are unfair to Chembo, I remember him indicating his desire not to renew his contract instead he had shown desire to go elsewhere. I believe at that time, he had concluded talks with Biuldcon who had already enticed him with a huge pay. Zesco management lent his courtship very fast as Chembos daughter confirms in her comment that her father was greatly enticed by Biuldcon on the Zesco official Facebook page shortly after the official announcement that her father ditched the club due to being enticed, the comments are still on Zesco Facebook by Chembos daughter. without knowing were to turn to, Zesco also started talks with someone who at least knows the team seeing that time to start afresh could only crush their cuf championship hope’s, that’s how…
I think ZESCO has lost a good coach. Wish the coach all the best wherever he will go.
Mr. Chembo was frustrated by ZESCO management for not confirming him head coach when the results for team in his acting capacity have been excellent. So what else can a person do? If there is an opportunity somewhere I would quit. Good move Mr. Chembo I wish you all the best.

chembo has done well to dump zesco the man proved himself for the top job which was not given to him i feel he was unfairly treated let him go to a club which will appreciate his services
