And Mr. Mutati has called on the business community to help government reduce the debt burden by being tax compliant.
Speaking during the Ndola Chamber of Commerce and Industry 2018 Gala Dinner in Ndola, Mr. Mutati expressed confidence that the business community in the city is determined to turn around the wheels of industry by making the existing warehouses start manufacturing products.
Mr. Mutati said he sees the Chamber as an instrument that connects the industry in partnership with Government for the purpose of finding new ways of solving the challenges that Government faces.
He said in order to change, the business community should abandon the mindset of business as usual and adopt the concept of resolving whatever challenges the country may face.
Mr. Mutati said this is through innovative thinking as it is key to turning the fortunes of the country into a successful story that will help stop the debt conversation going on currently and that it is possible if the business community rose to the challenge.
And Ndola Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Ashu Sagar has called on Government to help turn the industrial area in an MFEZ which he said was once an industrial power house for production in the country.
He also said the Chamber welcomes the introduction of sales tax and requested that Government includes the business community on the tax review committee so that a tax regime can be formulated for the benefit of everyone.
Nonsense. Any company not making money is a danger only to itself. ZRA only collects. It does not invest
True. A non-profit generating company is quasi brain dead already.
Dull people, what he is saying is that a government that that spends beyond it’s means is criminally liable and not fit for purpose.
What is the purpose of tax? To run the affairs of a nation.
You fail to extract tax and ACCOUNT for that revenue, you fail as a government in power.
PF have borrowed beyond their means to pay back, they are merely passing the buck on to where it came from, the electorate. Is called DUNUNA LUVERSE, mwanyaaaa !!!!!
Mutati has still not come to terms with the fact that he is no longer finance minister. He is still talking of ZRA & other financial issues at every opportunity. Please mutati you are now at works & supply so talk about works & supply and leave financial matters to your counterpart at Finance.
The only danger to Zambia are the Ministers, PSs, directors of various government depts, heads of govt institutions even MPs and DCs. All these senior govt officers are draining the economy with their luxury SUVs, their hefty allowances, salaries etc have you done an audit on how much money is spent on these items I’ve mentioned? You know very well that it is in the billions of US dollars a year and yet you keep quiet. Tanzania and Botswana are leading is reducing such costs so that money can be spread to the more deserving causes. Best approach is to remove the huge log in your own eyes you senior officers who have been tormenting us poor Zambians from all angles it’s as if you are trying to get milk from a stone.
Its rather foolish how zra wants accountability from private entities and there is no proper accountability in the various government departments. The auditor generals office should be even more efficient than zra.
#3, 2020vision, those officials include upnd members maybe in the majority actually. They steal left right and centre and report to their secretariat that there is corruption in government…and their leader holds press briefings to divert attention….!!
of course you expect such a statement from this bootlicker because the only companies making any meaningful company are chinese owned. In other words they want only the chinese to dominate in all sectors while painting all struggling zambian companies as a danger to zambia. what a nut job this guy is
correction: making any meaningful money
The only danger to ZRA is a government that is ever increasing the cost of doing business – high input cost, eroded buying power, high interest rates due to excessive government borrowing crowding out the private sector, high minimum wage and high punitive and oppressive tax regime! Even if you are a magician, how do you make money in such a disabling business environment?
Ichikopo nachimbi icho, how u suppose a company will survive with out making a profit, some of these things just don’t say it in public to show your stup!dty keep it to your self or maybe say it to your kids coz they will anyway turn to out to be dull like you…….. ubupuba u cant measure….. all you are thinking about is tax to pay back the Chinese loans
