A maid of Kamwala site and service has been dragged to court for allegedly poisoning the breakfast she prepared for her employer and her children.
Naomi Muyemba is charged with maliciously administering poison with intent to harm.
Particular of the offense are that on July 6, 2019, Ms Muyemba with intent to harm maliciously administered unknown poison to four slices of bread and fried eggs meant for her employer Petronella Mukumbakwa.
It is alleged that on the material day, Ms. Mukumbakwa a manager at TATA Zambia limited discovered a black substance in powder form on the four slices of bread and eggs Ms. Muyemba packed for her breakfast.
Ms. Mukumbakwa was initially supposed to eat the said breakfast with her husband, but he refused claiming that he was fasting.
After noticing the said substance, Ms Mukumbakwa avoided eating the food.
The accused will appear for plea before Lusaka Magistrate Judy Chiyaika.

Why has the substance not been identified? Were any tests done to establish whether the said substance is indeed harmful? Why did the husband decide to go on a fast on this particular day? Sounds like he knows something about the substance…!

It’s a tricky one.. The same employer might have just planted the poison to make it appear as if the maid was trying to poison her. Why would the maid try and poison her? These are questions the police must ask. Not everything is at it seems.
Obviously, there is something the husband new for him to be fasting, you lazy ladies will lose your husbands to maids if you are not careful, even breakfast ati maid maid, how long does it take to prepare breakfast? This maid should be helped to meet ba Katotela for an acquittal formula.

If the substance has not been tested and is not even in evidence room then why is this maid even in court, this is why we say our justice is only meant for the poor…a good lawyer would crash this case!!
Another possibility, food could have been poisoned at work
Appear in court for what ? Did they do any tests on the food to determine whether there was any poisonous substances on it? Where is the evidence? Did someone die from eating the food? This article doesn’t answer those questions. Either mediocre reporter who wrote this article, or mediocre investigators.

Yes it could be black pepper..and did she eat that food for her to say it’s posion..and Zambian police like to arrest pipo for nothg..take that bread to the lab I’m sure it’s nothg .and that is ground black pepper.

Alot of facts are missing.Was the food taken for testing? And what if out of malice wife put the poison to implicate the maid?And then the husband fasting?This case is non starter.
Police should tell us what poison was adminstered here. Otherwise its just rumours
