Finance Minister Bwalya Ng’andu says Government has no plans to introduce mineral revenue sharing mechanisms with communities near mines.

Dr Ng’andu says the Mines Mineral Development Act 11 of 2015 does not provide for that.

Dr Ng’andu however says what government has put in place is mechanisms called the local government equalisation fund so that mineral royalty revenue are shared equally.

He said this in Parliament in response to Solwezi Member of Parliament Teddy Kasonso who wanted to know whether the Government has any plans to introduce mineral revenue sharing mechanisms.

  1. Clueless boma. Government needs to go back to the ZCCM model or the Botswana model. Chapwa. Then the wealth can stay in the country. Not this capital & profits flights

  2. This is what happens when you have a useless party like pf which only cares for itself. They think only they are entitled to the profits of copper. When we come in power we will ensure to sweep clean all the corrupt dealings of lungu and so called foreign multinational. We now have a drug dealer for a president who associates with play boys. Zambians don’t be docile. Rise up for what is right
