The opposition political parties are looking for an excuse to pull out-Sikazwe

Share

Presidential Affairs Minister Freedom Sikazwe has said that the opposition political parties are looking for an excuse to pull out of the upcoming February 13th By-Elections because they have sensed defeat going by the support the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) is enjoying in Chilubi.

Speaking to ZNBC News, Mr. Sikazwe wondered why the UPND did not pull out of the Sesheke Parliamentary by-election were there was a lot of bloodshed compared to the peaceful environment which is obtaining in Chilubi District.

Mr. Sikazwe said that the opposition should just concede defeat instead of misleading the nation that there is violence in Chilubi.

Mr. Sikazwe said that the PF will show the nation that it is possible to hold a by-election without violence and that there was no need for people to shade blood over an election, adding that campaigns should be about ideas and not physical fights.

The Presidential Affairs Minister further urged the Zambia Police to continue patrolling the Chilubi until the elections are held.

Meanwhile, PF deputy campaign manager for the Chilubi parliamentary by-election Geoffrey Mwamba said the party will not protect anyone who will get involved in illegal activities.

Mr. Mwamba said the PF will only preach President Edgar Lungu’s development agenda.

On Friday, the opposition UPND and NDC threatened to pull out of the by-election in Chilubi if the Electoral Commission of Zambia does not address the alleged reports of violence in the area.

The people of Chilubi will be going to the polls on the 13th of this month to replace the late members of Parliament Rosario Fuindanga who died last year in November.

  1. I agree with you papa sikazwe. It is kicks of a dying opposition party. Right now I have even stopped sleeping while i work to ensure another victory for pf in 2021. This time I am aiming for pf 95%, the rest of parties :5% of vote share. Kz

  2. The fact is we don’t have opposition party who is there to offer solutions all they can offer is violence that’s why where there’s peace they don’t have space

  3. KZ , last time round it was a difference of 100k votes separating the front runners , while the country was glad with Eurobonds…..

Now people have no jobs, broke and are hungry , you have your work cut out.

  4. What de fcvk???? so erecetions are 2 weeks away, and all the PF idyots left their jobs a month ago to campaign in that tiny island?
2 months campaigns in 1 area, who is sleeping with Mumbi Phiri?? Feel sorry for local women cooking and sleeping with those lazy men.

  5. We need to reclaim our country from these fwitis , a hole lot of a minister glorifying violence and he doesnt think it is going to affect him and his children in the long run. Those people you’re sending to beat up others will be beating you in the end. Religious minister wants us to pray on thursday, for what, even God must be disgusted with these hypocrite Koswes. You can win that ka seat through violence but that win is only going to lead people to more poverty as you are not doing anything to improve those poor peoples’lives, eventually a ka small person like seer1 is going to take you out

  6. The position of minister of presidential affairs is one of a civil servant. So why is this clown speaking as a partisan cadre? This in itself is electoral malpractice because the resources of a non-partisan government office are being abused with impunity right in our faces. I am sure ECZ have not detected this. Too busy keeping the appointing officer happy and their bellies full.

  7. UPND and NDC knows it very well that they cant win that seat in Chilubi hence pulling out is what these chaps thinks is right. They wasting their time,if they want let them pull out the elections will go ahead as planed by ECZ.Every time they cry foul why, meaning they are not serious with what they are doing. We fade up of their useless behavior.

  8. The fact is we don’t have opposition party who is there to offer solutions to current PF Government. All they can offer is violence that’s why where there’s peace they don’t have space.Tell Zambians what you can do different, improve on or change for the better. Not personal attack on each other.

  9. There is a saying that says ! If you can not beat them join them! so to me there is nothing wrong for the opposition parties to do away with that by elections.Dont forget that the government has the source or rathar access to money which they collect from taxt pays.
