Suspended party National Committee Executive member of the Movement for Multi Party Democracy (MMD) Ms Christine Moonga will be summoned to appear before the party’s ad-hoc committee to exculpate herself for accusing President Mwanawasa of practicing tribalism.
MMD deputy national secretary Jeff Kande said in Lusaka today that the party will also discuss disciplinary issues against suspended MMD copper belt provincial chairperson Terrence Findlay and review the organization of the party.
Mr. Kande disclosed that the duo will be summoned to appear before the ad-hoc committee to exculpate themselves adding that the meeting will be held on May 6, next month.
He said the party’s disciplinary committee has done its investigations and are satisfied with the investigations carried out so far.
Mr. Kande said the party will not relent in its efforts to discipline erring members through the laid down party disciplinary procedures.
And Mr. Kande has refuted allegations that the controversial Baobab land in Makeni is only being issued to MMD members.
He said MMD does not issue any potions of land as the mandate lies with the ministry of lands.
Mr. Kande however said some people have been masquerading as MMD officials in order to bring the name of the party into disrepute.

Please explain to me how Zambia is moving forward. People are still living in slumps, people are still unemployed. The unemployment rate in Zambia is not so far from the Zimbabwe estimate. Zambia’s unemployment is running at 60-70%. How is Zambia moving forward when Indian and Chinese firms get TAX FREE ZONES and I have never heard our glorious LPM give a TAX FREE ZONE to Zambians. How is Zambia moving forward when Lusaka still looks worst than Harare which is doing worst than Zambia at the moment. How????? Im sorry, until i SEE some results from this so called economic growth, i cannot believe it. :'(
Thats funny. Lusaka Times admin just deleted those comments 😀
Lusaka Times, please delete my comments before i end up looking like a fool or a mental case.
#1-21 Very, very interesting but you forgot to include the torture and thuggery that is being melted on hapless and innocent Zimbabweans. Why do you always run to blame imperialist-themselves a nuisance at times- even when its the anti-imperialists that are butchering the people? I enjoyed reading your contribution, though.
Ishy! delete mine too.
Why is the MMD scared of disciplining Shakafuswa? The basis of MS MOONGA`s argument has been that Shakafuswa has been protected by Levy. The fact that he`s not even been asked to appear before the disciplinary committee for his recent tantrums speaks volumes about the double standards practised.
No wonder prostitution is on the increase in Zambia because people like Shakafuswa who are part of Levy`s inner cicle are direct beneficieries.
Let`s be serious when dealing with real issues.

Yes we cannot compare zambia to SA or england, but as a starting poing, compared to FJT’s era ofcourse we have moved on. As a simple measure, during FJT’s time we had 1000’s of strret kids raoming and dying of starvation, the situation is much improved.
India has a very high level of its population unemployed, with worse slums than we have, but they are moving forward. If you expect to see western type standards of development, you have to be a bit more patient.
By the way it seems some one at LT helped post 1-21’s lets fight for our freedom post, then did’nt like being told 26 yrs of freedom is a long time to claim to be still fighting for freedom from whites.
my comments are always deleted too
who owns Lusaka time? I am of the opinion that these guys have seen little Chalk.
Are some comments really being deleted or it’s just a technical fault on the posting side? I hope the latter is the case.
I love MMD. The party is full of political novices. Some issues are handled by the national secretary Katele Kalumba and some issues that seem not of great interest to him are handled by his vice. I see another UNIP after 2011 elections. Bye bye MMD.
When posting the piece titled “Britain’s Lusaka” this morning, i didn’t realize that it worth cause some BP and panic here to warrant deletion.May be that is the difference between going through a commandist education system and a practical liberal of Abraham Lincoln where dissent is a non impinged moral leadership of patriotism.
Nothing is making sense here, why are people quoting comments not listed here?, the admin must a hv a shallow mind!, why deleting valid contributions frm citizens trying to outline the truth, I thot this site was bout expressing 1’s ideas on prevaailing social, political & economical errors, to mention but a few in Zambia today, U flick admin do u hv any idea hw ignorant u r? let Zambia speak & DO NOT DELETE any commmets, otherwise shutdown the site, Malinso!!!
Did you missed out on
“Britain’s Lusaka”
If you missed out or found my article deleted here by Admin previous on same thread running from 1-22, please visit the Zambia online open leatter to the President thread. It is entry # 3362 under my name Nathaniel Manheru.
So they say that zambia is doing good economically but i dont see it.Come home to visit after 5 years of being away from my country and things look worse than i left them.Zimbabwe that is worse right now looks better than zambia. When are things really going to change for sure.
nathaniel, thanx dude. You are smart. Otherwise would have missed your comments. I will go to Zambia online. But, can yu try to re-post your comments just to prove if they deliberately deleting it if you have served it somewhere, please.
Lusaka Times, don’t start this ilthy habbit. This is supposed to be a free blog where bloggers freel express themselves. You will be out of business if all bloggrs change camp.
Nathaniel, I have just Zambia online to find “open leatter to the President”, thread. (It is entry # 3362 under my name Nathaniel Manheru). I did not find it. Under which main heading is your letter? I would like to read it as I missed it, please.
Peter, i have found it. Go to this link
http : / / www . zambia . co . zm / president / (remove spaces)
You’ll find it. Its number #3362 under the name
“Nathaniel Manheru”
I do however suspect this “Nathaniel” is not Zambian but rather from Mugabe’s Zimbabwe. I might be wrong but i’ve never heard a surname in Zambia like Manheru.
Nathaniel, reveal yourself. Where are you from 😕
I have read that article by this guy Nathaniel Manheru who seems to think that Zambians are too dull to fall for his lies.
We`re peace loving nation and are not interested in your propagada.Concentrate on bringing democracy to your nation Zimbabwe whose inflation ranks the highest in the world.
This guy is just a Zanu-PF mouth piece and wants some political mileage from unsuspecting Zambians.
The man is such a lier. Why cant he contribute to Harare Times if there is such a thing.
e brave ms moonga. I shakas is happy that there is cheap sex from zim
that nigga deleting comments is one of Mwanawasa regiments…no freedom of speech dammm damm damm..to hell with u mr admin.. oh u can go ahead and delete ma comments right now.. wenkusa whe!!!!
#14 su-blu, don’t be mislead by Nathaniel Manheru and his likes. If you had the slightest clue about economics, then you would know why there are no immediate physical signs of economic growth. The infr-structure in Harare that was put in place by a majority of white settlers until the 80s cannot be compared to Lusaka, which was mainly engineered by Zambian architects.
Fed up with *****s pretending to be leaders while the nation is wallowing in poverty. Why persecute a noble minded woman whose sole crime is speaking the truth about our demented president?
Ms Moonga will be facing a Kangaroo court because her case has already been judged. Dont worry Christine MMD is just transforming you into a strong person.
the only advice i can give …………… dont go there . let patrick sought out the mess on his nephew shakafwasa
My appeal to Zambians is that we should concentrate on our own problems. Remember the list of challenges is very long including access to good health facilities, poverty, souring unemployment, illiteracy, rural underdevelopment, inequatable distrubution of resources, etc. These are the real issues affecting human development and national and subsahara-Africa democratic dispersion. Let us demand from those governing that these be attained. In so saying they as polical leaders in government must also learn to sacrifice. The ordinary Zambian has done so for a long time. Lets us revisit our focus now. These persecutions will not take this country anywhere. This is a fact we need to appreciate.
#1 you are ectopically situated on this heading, pliz readdress your point to the other heading coz you are number 1 but you question number 22 where on earth crazy. But lets hope you are in zambia coz you guys who are abroad you dont see real issues happening back home but you are good at commenting, presently the conditions of service for doctors have atleast improved that we can see some doctors who left for namibia coming back which is a good sign. Some doctors even benefited from the car loans which the govt gave them, which is good. Viva Mwanawasa.
#1, Rome was not built in a day, as we grow we undergo developmental stages, even schooling we go up through the grades. You can espect a newly born baby to walk, talk or have teeth our economy is really bad it will take years, sustainable good leadership for us to see those changes you asked, but as for now we have to appreciate the little we see coz atleast it’s a step forward than FTJ who pulled us down.
where is proff mutengo waminga USA? you have made a wise move to come with a new name coz your false qulifications were alarming bloggers causing attacks on you, so whats your new name? hehehehe ba guy
To start with Tribalism is never ever be subject! Africa is in a Leadership, just the other day I was thinking who will replace Mugabe after he leaves? Morgan? Is he the right calibre? KK was a great Leader… Was he replaced by the right Leader? i dont’t know!!! I actually wish Mwanawasa replaced KK… Zambia would have been a better country…. I am not diverting fromthe tribalism angle but I am driving you to the fact that we need to seriously look at Leadership in Africa… Leadership Training! Who will replace Mwanawasa! Sata? Who? HH? Think Again!
We have a crisis Folks!
We need to breed a quality pool of Leadership! For those of you aspiring, I recommend that you read a book entitiled ‘Leading like Madiba’ by Martin Kalungu-Banda. Trust me, you will learn alot from that brilliant literiture… Can someone float atleast float ten names of Potentail Zambian Presidents????? I challenge you all! I will tell you why they can’t Lead us!!! If they can though, Trust me I will be quick to point out!!!
This moonga lady is campaigning for 2011.
viva moonga for presidency, she is caurageous than these other thugs
Mingeli palata #32
we are not in a crisis. we have Clive Chirwa, who is infact more qualified than Mandela, Mbeki and Zuma combined.
My Dear Colleague! Clive Chirwa is a NASA scientist, who has been away from home for decades? Does he understand the issues the guy on Katondo street goes throgh? I dont know! Just bacause you have PHDs and what nots does not mean you can lead! Or perhaps I am bias? I dont now what magic formuler Proff. Chirwa has put on the table! What is the chemical solution sir?
If you are so brilliant, why not stay here like the rest of us have and contribute to the development of our country in the most humble way???? Why run away?
Ms. Moonga!!!
Courage is not enough to qualify Leadership! Because can be misdirected, unwise and disslussioned by the way… You know what? Anybody is free to take on the Leadership mantle, all you have to do is lay your ideas on the table then we can choose on who makes better sense! Simple! But right now, I see non!

you don’t sound like a bad person but I think you are viewing things from an awkward angle(no offence intended).
Nathaniel Manheru,
I have read your rantings about the conspirancy theory against ZANU PF by the Zambian govt. and others in SADC.
Like others have said, you are sick individual that propagates lies and alarmist statements without facts. You proprobably did not go far in your education.
Zambia unlike other countries paid heavily for the liberation of Zimbabwe. We paid through our hard earned dollars and lives. We even donated radio 3 for your rebels to spread their message. Our interest in Zimbabwe is therefore natural.
So take your stupid propaganda elsewhere. Mwanawasa spoke on behalf of Zambians and we are tired of your regime that blames other people for its greediness.

I would vouch for CHITUWO to lead us. He is a great man and is serious at his work. In the year when he was the minister of education, there was no leakage of grade 9 and 12 papers. I know because i was at a school where leakage was a common thing and the sugo’s of that year where complaining, “there are no papers. This year is a tough one. Only fake ones on the market this year” they where constantly saying. They even went as far as conspiracy theories of “they print three tests and if one leaks out, they bring the other one”. And now he is the minister of health and he removed the malaria drugs which where not working and replaced them with the ones that actually worked. He was criticized,
cont from #42 (forgot to put a username 😀 )…
“the drugs are expensive, how can a poor country like Zambia go for such an alternative” the international community said but he got it done. What more can i say about this man. If i had the money, i would clearly pay for his campaign if he decided to attempt presidency. This man is great. But if he is not an option, then i would go for someone who understands economics as his record clearly shows that. Im talking about Hakainde Hichilema. Just check his record, you’ll see that he can do a good job ECONOMICALLY.
#42 43 Musankwa ukamba cani? What extraordinary things has Chituwo done? Buddy you are childish, the minister was/is just doing his job, period. Is steming leakages a reason enough for him to be voted to plot 1? Yawhn!
the comments are all mixed up… but anyways big up moonga for that rare courage. you were not wrong to expose the truth and even though some cowards dont want to accept that i personaly respect you. dont go for that meeting. let LPM deal with Shaka if he is an impartial leader.
Can someone from the MMD NCE tell us whether or not there is freedom of speech in their party and how it expressed. Does one who has anything to say first seek permission from the NCE to say what they feel and only then go ahead and say it? If Ms Moonga feels there tribalism is being practiced, has she no right to say so? Or is this a case of persecution because she is a woman?
There’s nothing like being courageous here!let Christine Moonga just stay away and tell him them to handle it their own way.LPM isn’t tribalist!!!!!!!!!
why do these f*ckers have a forum if they’re just going to delete sh!t?
what about freedom of speech?
so stupid and frustrating.
get some balls, LT, let us say whats on our minds or just delete the whole forum idea.
# 47 open your eyes!! or you
# 47 open your eyes!! or you are one of those cowards practicing NEPOTISM within your owm jurisdiction.wake up!!
The acting president now is Mpombo. may be he is a relative to either LPM or his wife.
could some people prove that LPM IS A TRIBALIST by listing some of his relatives in government. i intend to take this matter up.
