Linos Makwaza Reflects on Bright Start as Jumulo FC Coach

Linos Makwaza says he is enjoying his reign as coach of FAZ Copperbelt Division One leaders Jumulo FC.

Makwaza has had an instant impact on Jumulo since his appointment in late January when replacing Ghanaian trainer Ernest Koffi.

Makwaza has guided unbeaten Jumulo to six straight wins that has seen the Kitwe side open a five point lead at the top of the table with 22 points from eight matches.

“Yes, I am enjoying my stay at Jumulo. It is about teamwork and the quality of players I have found at Jumulo,” Makwaza said.

Jumulo are fighting for promotion to the National Division One with a host of legendary teams among them Ndola United, Roan United, Kalulushi Modern Stars and Mufulira Blackpool.

“The boys have understood and they know why they are playing football here. We have told the boys that the main objective is to win promotion to the National League,” said the former Nkana and Napsa Stars coach.

Makwaza is wary of stiff competition in the provincial league.

“We have told the boys to be focused as we play games and later we will plan for the second round.”

“In this division you can’t underrate any one. Winning promotion won’t be easy. We need to make the players disciplined on and off the pitch,” Makwaza said.
