  1. Strikers, strikers, strikers, where are they? Look at these scorelines. Are we coaching our boys correctly? FAZ please send our coaches for FIFA approved courses abroad.

  2. How i wish i was still playing football because am the only striker for zambia in New moston.Too bad zed,but am an old man now.We will be ok soon.

  3. Again no team has scored more than 2 goals.I’m now seriously doubting that we will beat Togo when they come to Konkola stadium because we cant just score and our defence is circus chinyau.

  4. Soccer is a boring sport, ever since i came to…. i have now known how shallow our minds were when i thought soccer was the best thing ever..it is not entertaining, except on a few occasions..what can you say about a game that sometimes goes for 90 mins and then ends in a scoreless draw? pathetic, in a real sport, one team has to always win except soccer.

  8. We longer have credible players in Zambia, or is it lack of confidence in our players? I believe something can be done.

  9. after 18 games and the Top team is on 31 points and bottom

team is on 17 points is it just me or is there something Odd

    about zambian soccer…haha

  10. Bane football is a difficult game. The problem we have in Zed now where we luck goalpoachers is normal bane. Let us look back and reflect, stikers like UCAR Gode, Ben Bomber, 50-50 Goerge Mofya, John “FUSO” Lengwe, Fanny Hangunyu, Thomas “Castela” Bwalya, Great Kalu, Babo Malitoli, Knox Kalonda, Zambani, Peter Tembo, Peter Abaleya, PP, Mark Masumbuko, Wisdom Chansa, Mutale Kelvin, etc the list could go on…these type of players do not just come about and I know those of u who have played football before will agree with me. The difference between those days and now are letters DD, which simply means DISCPLINE AND DEDICATION, which not there now. Mbesuma would have been a great footballer ..

  11. nomba uku kula umu twe before ….. ta ula panga ishina kwena Mbesuma ali chita disappoint umwaiche

  12. #5,this web was not meant for Prayers young man, we are not insterested in reading texts from dull chaps who always want leakages. nowander you are working in a mine thus a best place for you. my advice to you is, now that you are alread working pray for promotion not ubuanga muaiche.
    lets continue with soccer guyz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. Zambia 2-0 up against Madagascar. Kombe has scored after a kola pass. This was in the 72nd minute. The defence is however ling dangarously. Chivuta is also in the team.

Hachilensa has been brought into the game as part of the strateggy to stabilise the game.

  14. Kafusha I can see you know your Zambian soccer! You remember Zambani Sailota, Fanny Hangunyu and Thomas Castella Bwalya (magic feet)! Guys we had an abundance of talent in those days. After Ucar scored 107 goals do you remember who came and scored 69 goals to become top scorer?
Anyway like I have said before, nowadays passion is missing from both players and fans. We used to have Dag shaking when Mighty met Magnificent. Or when Rokana United met Green Buffaloes. This kind of competition is lacking at present. There is nothing to drive our players forward!

  15. Imagine the top team, Zesco has played 18 games and has scored 22 goals!! Come on guys, thats an average of 1.02 goals per game. So how did they find themselves on top? FAZ you can do something!

  16. Can some one gimmie the finer details of the Zambia-Madagascar match..only heard we won 2-0.who were the scorers?match highlights n all..cheers

  17. #11. What did Zambia win with the players you have listed-Zero! Trips to the world cup Zero.

What seems to be lost here is that soccer has become more of a defensive game with a lone striker up top. ie. Torres , Drogba etc. Euro final was 1-0

    During Chitalu times was 4-2-4.

  18. hey, if you want more goals let FAZ get permition from fifa to increase the siz of the goal posts to maybe twice the normal. am sure goals will double and we will be happy. heheeeeeeee

  19. I have been thinking for while about our striking force. As much as we would like to put the blame on the strikes, I have not heard anyone congratulating the defence. We only blame the defence system when they allow goes but when the yprevent goals, their efforts are all forgotten.
In this period of the dry scores, when need to give credit wher it is due, the defenders. As a former striker and goal keeper on the kalukungu stadium, from the mid 70s to late 80s, I have realised that not many defender were recognised hence few were taken for professional football.
    Hat off for the defenders!

  20. #33(Your name is a mouth full).Well spoken we not commending the defense for not allowing goals. We easily forgetting that our defense was leaking a few months ago.School boy errors all over.
On bringing back P.P,what if he comes in & we lose terribly lose? Then we will start calling for Peter Kaumba.
The problems facing our soccer are too vast just to blame one R.Herve.Even if we brought Sir Alex Ferguson or the “Special one” the can’t do much with the material we have.

  21. Passion … No Passion, utter crap. No money .. No Development .. No Talent spotting .. No Talented Players. The old days had the all the mines sponsoring soccer from grass-root to premier league, thats where the players come from my country men.Not from passion. We are poorer compared to the late 70s or so, when all mines had a strong soccer structure in the country. Proof is the pudding, look at the table, if companies like Zesco, Zanaco and army teams dorminate tells you the missing link, the mines. These teams on top will always have the money … chinese will not develop socccer for us on the copperbelt, Indians will not, canadians will not. I’m not calling for nationalization, NO.

  22. #30 we gained repect all over the World. FYI We qualified for the 1976 Olympic games in Canada, Montreal, but we did not play (ask KK), the team went but returned home. (Mwale, Muti and Chiteule were to box but did not). In 1974 we reached the Finals of AFCON, we lost in the reply Vs the Kakoko lead Zaire. We were at the Olympic Games in Russia. We were at the Olympic Games in South Korea where we became the first African country to reach the quarter finals. We won the East and Central Africa Senior Challenge Cup twice. We reached AFCON Finals in 1994. We were third at the 1982 Libya AFCON> Look mune if Africa had 5 places at the World cup at that time, Zambia would have been present….

  23. …..more than 4 times. #30 what have you achieved yourself apart from being a big mouth. can you tell me

  24. I watched “Zambia Mpila” a soccer program on Suppersport 3 yesterday, boy, I was impressed with the general play except the finishing, which was awful. But the passing game by teams like Zanaco was good.I even watched my old team city ya moto.Though they lost, but the game was ok.

Anyone seen this program? whats ur take? I know its part of exposing zambian soccer … etc.

  25. No 17-RN

Owen kaposa is at Zesco utd, he has been there the past 3 seasons.

He has equally dissapointed me-i thot he will play in better leagues.

As per za,mbian standards, he plays fairly well althogh not good enough to attrach the national call up

  26. “A good plan today is better than a perfect plan 2morrow!” RENARD BEWARE,Soccer fans in Zambia have seen Good and Bad Coaches Come and Go,ask Ante Buselic,Fred Mwila,Great Kalu,Ian Potterfield (and not in that order)If you are a good coach prove it to us lest you risk being orange, apple, and…(call it what you may)stoned come Sept 6th in chililabombwe.WE WANT RESULTS NOT ASSUARANCES.Dont cheat us we know how the CHIPOLOPOLO PLAY.A bad Carpenter always blames…..I believe u r an average coach so that is why…tu kapwisha ngamwawina iyaba togo

  27. To add to Kafusha #43. We had club sides that competed fairly well on the continent. Warriors reached quarter-finals of club championships, Mighty reached semi-final of Club championships, Nkana reached two finals. Power won the Cup winners.
As for Miyoba if you cant understand what I mean then just shut up. Passion is not the sole element in my argument. I am just saying the teams had become such strong brand names (because of the financial support of course)that fans were passionate about them. Now the passion is lacking because it takes a long time to build a brand. Zesco or Zanaco will have to work hard to get loyalty from fans.

  28. And since we no longer have ZCCM and its sponsorship of football, FAZ has to find a formula to re-awaken the passion among fans and players. But thats an uphill battle. You see FAZ has first got to get brands running, get fans to love these and then soccer standards will start peaking. The easier way out would be to re-awaken the already existing strong brands like Mighty, Roan, Nkana, (by getting them sponsorship). The harder and longer path is to work on the new brands such as ZESCO Young Arrows but fans don’t seem patient enough for such.
