Opposition shouldn’t participate on moral grounds-Sayila

Share

Federal Democratic Party (FEDEPA) president, Reverend Alfred Sayila has maintained that going for by elections is extravagant.

Rev Sayila described opposition political parties participating in the presidential by elections slated for October 30 as self-serving, insensitive and opportunistic.

Rev Sayila charged that there is no sense in accepting to spend about K 400 billion in a single voting exercise that will repeat itself in three years time.

He said this in a statement made available to ZANIS Monday morning.

He observed that the same opposition political leaders that showered the late president with praises during his sickness, death and burial are the ones in the forefront wanting to replace him.

“While we respect their constitutional right to take part in every important polls, this by election culminating from the untimely death of a serving president, they should have naturally refrained themselves from participating, at least on moral grounds,” he said.

Rev. Sayila expressed concern that such leaders will not only end up wasting their resources on electioneering but also will subject the country to an unnecessary cost amounting to billions of kwacha just to prove their existence.

He said opposition political leaders should have used the remaining time to prepare adequately for the 2011.

“Rally crowds cannot be the litmus test for ones popularity as fools, conmen, lunatics and dancers have been seen to attract huge audiences. People may still want MMD to conclude its programmes,” he said.

And Rev Sayila has appealed to all electorates to vote on merit and advised them not to vote leaders who have serious medical records and immoral leaders into office.

“All we want to tell the electorates is not to vote into office leaders who have serious medical records, terminally sick, habitual liars, unprincipled, uncouth, abusive, vengeful, marriage breakers, wavering, undiplomatic, aging and above all tribal,” Rev Sayila said.

Rev Sayila has vowed never to support any political party in the forth coming presidential by election and threatened to discredit power hungry leaders.

He has however commended opposition political parties that have withdrawn from the presidential by election race.

  1. You are too late u fool. Your comments actually are out of taste. A lying Rev deserves not to mislead God’s children u false prophet.

  2. Eeh just go and preach in church you prophet of doom. It is a right for the opposition to field candidates. You are an MMd cadre who wishes RB went unopposed. Shame on you.

  3. The opp parties are just wasting their time. They have to do the maths. As long as they are divided, they wont win. That is because to some extent they have not done enough to convince people from outside their core areas to vote for them. Sata can not win if Western, North Western and Eastern dont vote for him. What has he done to change their minds. Similarly what has UPND done to convince the people of Luapula and Northern province to vote for them? Fact is MMD is the most national party of the three and will most likely win on Oct30.

  4. Kwena Mu Zambia mwaliba amashilu. Ngoyu Sayila afuma kwisa? Bwana Rev if you can’t make enough in your kantemba church, don’t exepect by supporting RB he will give you money or position when he wins if he will. If you don’t want by-elections, then let the one who was second to Mwanawasa take over and save the K400bn not RB because he is UNIP. Its not the opposition demanding the by-elections but we are just following the constitution.

  5. ba reverand naimwe, kanshi what does the constitution saY??? R U IN ANOTHER WORLD OR WHAT? AND BESIDES IS THE MONEY COMING FROM YOUR PERSONAL COFFERS?? GIVE US A BREAK!!

  6. 4 and 6 Point….HH and SATA must come together on this one if they are realistic. OR else Mulongoti will be the next VP. let sense prevail.

  7. Congratulation #2 for your comment. This fake Rev should just concentrate in preaching the word or God not to be in saying something because the government has paid them. It’s the Constitution that we are following ba Reverand. Don’t be foolish

  8. FAILURES SPEAK LIKE YOU REVELAND. How do you become sad when you see people following the constitution? And why didn’t you open your mouth when it was the issue of ministers aproving their heft salaries.

You are not a man of God but a man of gods

  9. I think the Rev. doesnt know what and who he is dealing with, my humble appeal to him is to remain quite and keep his peace, we have already heard enough of his many ridiculous comments.

Zambia is a state not a social club.

  10. this reverend who is a politician has not brains. I think he has been stealing from his congregation or changing women like dan Pule

  11. Imwe naimwe ba LT, posting too quickly what!

I think ba mama Reverend, mwaluba nga Chiluba. Follow the constitution as others have said. It seems uyu mama alefwaya akafulo nga Nevers Mumba. Zambia shall be saved, kanshi he was looking forward to become a VP. Becareful my fellow mmd members, uyo ni Rev. wansala. Shame on you mama kankasa!

  12. Reverand you need to morally support the Zambian Republican Constitution instead of exposing insensitivity. However, I support you on:

“All we want to tell the electorates is not to vote into office leaders who have serious medical records, terminally sick, habitual liars, unprincipled, uncouth, abusive, vengeful, marriage breakers, wavering, undiplomatic, aging and above all tribal,” Rev Sayila said.

HH waboola. Vote UPND’s HH for a New and Just Zambia. Where the Zambia People will have economic independence. Vote for change you can trust and believe in.

  13. Sayila needs psychatric help. Any Zambian who qualifies to stand for presidency has a right as provided for by our current constitution. If Rev Saila must realise that democracy is not cheap. If Rev Saila is not ready to participate he should not hide in costs of the eleaction. Even in 2011 the elections wont be be cheap.

I quote “Rev Sayila described opposition political parties participating in the presidential by elections slated for October 30 as self-serving, insensitive and opportunistic.”
Does he mean RB is not opportunistic except for opposition leaders? Ba Rev concerntrate on leading your church if at all you lead one and stop politicking if you can not manage.

  14. Revered sahila kill yourself, we are going on with the elections as per constition.which school did you go to where you by passed the exams. infact it’s not K400 billin acording to ECZ it’s K250 billion, ZAMBIA will not contribute much as some donors as pledged to assist, so don’t talk nonsense or go to hell.

  15. What a shame to Rev Sayila. WHo the hell is this fool? Why has he gone so low to discredit the pastoral chair? We the people of Zambia must exercise that which is due for us. Which school of thought does he think he is speaking from? Even when Jesus died and rose from the dead, he declined to stay for He knew His time was over and needed someone else to carry on from where He was. Let the people do what is right and if there is some flaws in the constitution now we will revisit and probably amend. Stop looking at the current monetary cost but the future as it unfolds you foolish shot sighted pastor. Not even the devil has blessed you speech.

  16. ANOTHER FOOLING REV. BARKING! IN YOUR CHURCH REV. (THATS IF YOU HAVE ONE) YOU HAVE THE BIBLE WHICH YOU FOLLOW ZED HAS GOT A CONSTITUTION WHICH SHOULD BE FOLLOWED AT ALL COST!

  17. if u have nothing important to say, shut up, i think ths man is happy with the current status of this country, all the poverty and strife..i wonder what made him reverand.just SHUT IT!

  18. #17 Hey Maestro Mabwetebwete who has told u Hakaivotela Heka waboola?! Who was thus tribal if not your kumalende actor?? Inhya!

  19. Ba Rev Sayila, kwati wants ka job. He has seen an opportunity to squeeze himself in. But such talk is very damaging indeed. What medical conditions is he talking about? Let him look at other Presidential aspirants in other countries, don’t they have those ‘serious’ medical records and yet they are contesting? My advice to you Rev, stop personalizing things here. Just let the people exercise their right to vote rather than ranting about.

  20. Bushe bafumya kwisa bu Reverend pa zed? Its only Catholic bishops and fathers seem to have the grey matter among the clergy. Democracy is not cheap ka sayila iwe. this is following the rule of law and not of men like you sayila. Will RB manage to give these people jobs if he wins? the queue is VJ, Chitala, Rev. Mumba, Lt Gen. Tembo, AKA, BY Mwila, Rev Sayila, etc.

  21. IS this reverend a leader of an opposition party or a “position” seeking party. Please stop embarassing the church. Politics is not guided by emotions, in fact in such times when there is danger of being emotional; the constitution guides us. in short for the reverend the constitution is like our bible, thats if you still know what the bible is!

  22. This Rev. belongs to which polictical party again? I’ve never heard of it. Is it suppose to read as “Faithless Demonized Party? The levels of unemployment in Zambia have seriously exposed lots of sheep in wolfs skin. It all started with former Reformed Party leader! Iwe Rev. if ur church members are not tithing enough on sundays, save us from your mediocrity! We’ve enough to focus our minds on not u chaps who just wake and tell your wives that today I want to make headline on news. If your preaching was not of God calling (which I highly doubt, unless u convince me)you can try a new venture like “Bee Keeping”.

  23. I think morals should not be the motivating factor at all. However, at the same time we should not interpret the law in a vacuum. What opposition partis need to do is throughly carry out informed polls to check their chances especially in their fragmanted form. I will hazard a guess and say they do not stand any chance for sveral reasons, one of which is the amount of state resources availabe to the incumbent and another being the lack of popular national support for any one opposition party. The votes wull be split and we ould have spend so much money. But what can we say, democracy is expensive.

  24. reverend you have are a deliquent son of a devil. you are the only opposition chap who thinks like a lunatic. if you wish to lender support do so without insulting your opponents. if its a question of lack of cash grab the tithe from your members and buy mealie meal rather than using useless comments to solicit money from RB. shut the hell up will you.

  25. Ba Saliya Mukwae, laws are laws just as the constitution states that elections must be held within ninty days from the time what happened in Zambia. Where does it leave you as the one who shold give guidance to the flock. Even when we pray about influencing the constitutions as Christians, do you pray for issues that should be changed based on emotions or opinions? Ask who and why the 90 days was put in place before you start looking at the money to be spent. Let the People of Zambia decide who should lead.

  26. pliz ba Reverand spare us and concentrate on preaching. why form a party and then u are scared of elections. GOD pliz BLESS SATA

  27. Bo Sayila, Before you talk about some issues, it is important to know who and why they were put in place. Why 90 days from time of loss? Obviously you will not pray for a good constituion that will easily be overlooked when execution time comes. Integrity has nothing to do with how much you are going to spend. It is about going by the book. As a Rev, we expect your office to spear head such campaigns otherwise you will be counted among the job sickers we are seeing.

  28. That Reverand is a Lunatic. How can he call noble people merely expressing their democratic right lunatic. I quote “fools, conmen, lunatics and dancers have been seen to attract huge audiences”

We don’t need retrogressive people like him.

That reverand must realise that handing someone presidency without a mandate by way of a vote (ballot) is setting a bad constitution precedence. Zambia after Mwanawasa is not immune to leaders dying. Another one will die and the Vice will say I must continue.

For luck of better words he is uneducated. I even wonder how he leads his flock later on party

  29. Ino ooyu Rev. Sayila naa ngu Siliya wazwa kuli? I hope you must have been tiped that they are reintroducing a “Minister of Religious” potfolio and that it’s yours. Too late boy.

  30. Rev do not confuse the nation that is governed by the constitution,as tax payers we choose to up hold the contitution and not the personal opinion.this country spent and is spending alot of money on the constitution cos democracy is not cheap Ba Rev.Dont strive to make healines you will fall.Go back to the closet and repent.Amen

  31. THIS REVERAND IS MAD. PERHAPS HE THINKS ITS MANHOOD ERECTIONS.
IWE KA REVERAND,DO YOU KNOW THAT THE CONSTITUTION IS BIGGER THAN YOU. YOU ARE A LOST CHAP. WHY ARE YOU IN POLITICS.ARE THEIR POLITICAL PARTIES IN HEAVEN ? WHY DO YOU OWN A POLITICAL PARTY ? POVERTY ISN’T IT ?.YOUR FELLOW COCKROACH CHIBOMBAMILIMO IS NOW QUIET .
    JUST SHUT UP,YOU SUCK !!!!

  32. These are the same people who are finishing space in the book of judgment with their filthy works. Wait for your right judgment to be meted on u chaps who wear a form of Godly devotion yet you are proving false to its power! Take leaf from Danny Pule, his self proclaimed spirit is now working against him. instead he’s started manifesting the true powers within himself (libidinous prowess), after successful failures to convince people with his uncalled-for standing. The man is now busy venting his ‘SEXUAL ANGER’ on innocent women! Ati Rev. Sayila, save us your dramatistic tendencies. Pray hard that RB wins you might be considered for Minister of Religious Affairs. Dream on! Hope u’ve a bible!

  33. #45 Sorry. Aint scared of small chaps like that though I agree with u the chap is so scary. U gotta look at him only once to realise that. Running away? Inhya!! Bring him on coz he amounts to nothing, hehehehehe!!

  34. The Question is who is this sayila chap? He doesnt sound to be zedian. Kafuma kwisa aka kene ka Muntu. He wants to make a name out of nothing.Useless rev!

  35. Al you son of a b*tch. You should be lock up at chainama for the rest of you life. You will also end up in limbo, because even lucifer won’t admit your sorry ass in his kingdom, assshole!

  36. Leave the rev. alone, he has the freedom to express himself just like all of you on this forum. He has a right ot his opinion.

  37. When the rev says “crowds cannot be the litmus test for ones popularity as fools, conmen, lunatics and dancers have been seen to attract huge audiences”. Maybe he is talking about himself and his followers. I think he smokes dagga!

  38. Ati nika presdo ka party called Federal Democratic Party (FEDEPA), which has got him as presdo, his wife as SG, his children as NEC members and church members as followers!

  39. I am a Christian but I don’t support what every Christian says. I wish there was an organisation, for Pastors, like ZICA which I am affiliated to, LAZ,BAZ etc which would regulate Pastors like Sayila, Pule and Nevers so that they would not be behaving the way they do. There is no way me as an Accountant I can say anything on behalf Accountants in Zambia when there’s ZICA.

It shows how indisplined and selfish some of the clergy are.

  40. The NCC should look at how political parties are constituted. Every Jim and Jack under the current Constitution is free to form a political party even if it’s a one man show. Political party leaders like Ken Ngondo have risen in statue and are always on the high table at every national occasion albeit he got less number of votes than those that were spoilt. The same applies to PF. Sata is about contest his third presidential election without ever holding a party convention. The NCC should streamline procedures on recognition of political parties, this might add some weight and attach seriousness to what Reverend Alfred Sayila is suggesting.

  41. #51 what freedom are u talking about. This is what u call freedom if so, We are also reminding him that we have the constitution to follow and not just say things which does not make sense.

  42. This rev. seem to be out of touch with what is happening. The election date has already been anounced, what is he talking about? This is tax payers money, it will not come from the church, he does not even pay tax himself. What’s he’s problem. These are revs who are misleading the nation. We do not need cheap revs who are busy politicing for finacial gains.

  43. What’s the use of writing a Constitution that can never be followed. The Constitution is the ” Bible” of our country. we must follow the commandments. The Rev. of all people should know that.

  44. #56 Am not here to define words for this forum……..yes I meant freedom of expression which you are also practicing right now!!

  45. it looks like some people just want their names to appear in the press no matter how nonsensical their suggestions are. shut up rev and let the constitution be followed to the letter

  46. It seems the so called Rb thiinks that we are still dumb. This time ANY person missusing the tax Payers money will be made to pay morethan doubble. 35% PAYE is not a joke, Almost sharing equally with the government. Please RB stop missusing tax payer money.

  47. Mbala boy whats wrong with you. Its just that mbala is a village thus why you think opp parties are wasting their time. Came to lsk boy.

  48. Which ground is the Rev standing on? Surely leadership must always be replaced whenever there is a crisis no matter the costs you know? The bible had Moses dieing and Joshua replaced him. though there were no elections but change happened.
So in our County the Constitution is our binding guideline. Ba Rev please revisit you comments and opinions
(Athough there is freedom of expression we must not take it for granted you know?)

ONE LOVE AND FOR LOVE WE LIVE

  49. Ha ha ha #47 you made my day, you sound very small yourself. In what way are you bigger than HH???? obviously in poverty, not that I am happy for your situation tho but I am just trying to understand in what sense you could be bigger than HH.

  50. Ala ba Saliya what is democracy kanshi. and what are morals. Just keep quite if you don`t have what to comment. Do`nt mis lead pipo like Benjamin Yotamu Mwila

  51. whats happening in zed? any body with a mouth is given leverage to make ridiculous statements where they contradict themseleves faster then hey’ve made their point..and just generally talk about issues that even they dont understand. Surely is this really a reverand? maybe bo sayila should stick to his calling insead of blowing alot of hot air

  52. One reason why Zambia is a poor country is the issue of priotisation and disinginious decision making coupled with emotionalism and blanket thinking.

‘We have so many Proffessors and Doctors yet, we cant manufacture even a single needle.’ to quote someone.

The reverand is just saying look, isnt something misplaced here.Yes, the law may say this but…….

The law is not a law if it injures those it seeks to serve. Sakwiba belaboured to address this issue and I wonder if many here read his comments.

  53. Ba Reverend if yo party cant participate in the by election doesn’t mean all shouldn’t.Therez a strong opposition and its called PF, Have u heard about about it? Ohh yes u have.. no wonder u r scared…Just say yo prayers and leave politics to dedicated politician.GO SATA GO

  54. This is all Chiluba’s fault, when they ammended constitution to scrap positions of secretary general and prime minister the provision should have been mad for the vice president to be in succession or the chief justice. As it is too many thieves wanna go to plot # 1, its time for good leadership HH-UPND bring zambia back to morality and sanity. Tonga bulls Stand up!

  55. The opposition parties are spending their own money in campaigns trying to exercise democracy. At this moment in time the people are following what the constitution says and moreover it was announced even before our late President was buried (MHSRP) that there will be presidential bye-elections. The Rev. should be advised to read widely on the constitution of the land not only the bible. Let us hope he is not misleading his flock as well

  56. have you heard? the MMD was distributing twenty thousands in Mutendere (K20,000). A These people have already started corrupting the poeple. When are we ever going to have free and fair elections?

  57. I have realised that even though intelligent voters do not always get their wish, they do provide an invaluable input in shaping the destiny of mother Zambia. Look at how the MMD performed in lusaka and Copperbelt (where most of Zambia’s elite are)in the 2006 elections. even though they did not succeed in their ambition to oust the late president, they still managed to get their point across. If the acting president is to be taken serious, he must begin to timely respond to big issues like the increased allowances for cabinet and also the UNZA crisis. its not enough to say ” I’ll not respond to my critics”, state your position on these pertinent issues and how you intend to persue them.

  58. No 67. Tsunami you seem to miss my point. As far as am aware, this election is open to all of Zambia not only those resident in Lsk. My point is that without either opposition party gaining ground beyond their present strongholds, then there is no chance of them winning. What is so difficult to understand about that? My vote in Mbala is worth the same as a vote in Lsk. That is why PF did not win the last time. Why do you think there is talk of a PF/UPND pact? Sometimes I despair at the level of misunderstanding displayed on these fora!

  59. yaba.. rev my foot. where have you been to bring this issue. Find something better to do with your kachurch otherwise elections are on and the date set set for ’30 Oct 08′ if you didn’t know. sorry bwana Reverand you are late on this matter. By the way who told this Reverand that when the Opposition were rallying behind in all matters as regards LMP then they are supposed to shane elections for his sake.. Go to hell reverand.. Don’t go about your so called church preaching about voting for RB let the pipo choose for themeselves without any interference from reverands of this type.

  60. If we do not follow the constitution, what will Mugabe do or say? What moral grounds will we have to speak on the Zimbabwe issue? There is only one way one can assume the office of president of Zambia, and that is through a ballot.

  61. This chap is definately a son of satan. He should not even be allowed to preach the word. Besides it is the first time i have heard of his party.

  62. 77. Chengelo Alumni
The constitution has has always provided for the only way one can become president it through an election. The positions on Prime Minister amd Secretary general *NEVER* provided for taking over when a president dies!

  63. In that case why don’t we do away with the consititution while we are at it. Very myopic view from Rev. Sayila. Respect the consitution for it is the conerstone of our government. Ku vota bebele, money or no money.

  64. Sadness and Agony be upon you Rev. Sayila of an Opposition church. I wonder why Lucifer could even use you to start preaching to voters just over a few billion dollars to exercise their rights and put in a good government of Sata + HH? All what you wrote has been written before in the “Egyptian Book of the dead”.

  65. Useless chap who doesn’t know constitution.
low iq big man!Why did they nmake a constitution which can’t be followed? They didn’t know that presidents also die just like normal people? That’s why they’ve to think before making laws.
So my man Sayila just concetrate on yo church,it looks u don’t even understand the Bible.U’re the same people making $ through making stupid churches which have no hope to poor zambians.

  66. Democracy is expensive,,,this is not about your homeman RB but about the future of Zambia..how will RB be seen on international stage without being elected..go back to school Rev…get a real job!!

  67. why cant that foolish, loser hypocrit Rev.Alfred become bapitised again or born again and ask for forgiveness for all his lies his been preaching to people.Concentrate on your church you treachareuos Rev fool!!!

  68. Ba Reverend………Iye!!!!!!!! And who elected you party president? No wonder you dont know the constitution of zambia. Shame!

  69. 93. Yes Tsunami – because we live in multi party democracy it is allowed for me to support MMD. When the other parties convince me otherwise, then I will use my vote accordingly. I shant vote for UPND because I think they have not done enough to make themselves a party for the whole country, and I wont vote for Sata, well because I believe in DEMOCRACY, so I will not vote for a violent and corrupt thug who in my opinion will turn Zambia into a sinking bwato like his friend Bob has done in Zim. That is my democratic right. Peace

  70. this a boring topics let us hear what the next president of zambia mr sata is tuking abt not this man of GOD who has no following a church of me and children.get to hell mr preacher man we dont need that advice we closed that subject a long time ago.mr sata for president that is all we need not fack topics

  71. Please country men and women.Namipapata forgive Rev. Sayila. He is saying things out of ignorance. That’s why I admire Catholic Priests(Reverends),they have enough knowledge about political and many other issues that affect humanity. Only that they do not like interfering into politics to much, its part of their discipline. Ba Rev mulefwaika ukwamba isukulu, do not make any mistake by doing correspondence otherwise you will remain in your own shadow together with members of your church.

  72. the hypocrite rev. is a shallow minded politician who steals money from people in the name of Jesus Christ. so is rev. sayila. time is up for thie juda

  73. It seems anyone who thinks has something to say, however stupid or outdated, can make news in Zed. Is this the level we have reached now? If tomorrow I make a statement I am sure LT will post it…I can even see the headline ….”Its OK to donate sugar & mealie meal as long they are fortified with Vitamin A” – UWAKWISANO . Come on guys we can do better. HH had a press conference this morning, we are yet to get the latest. LT we are watching you…..

  74. let us respect the clergy , no matter what they have said or done. They are men of God. God will sort them out. Lets not collect unnecessary curses for touching the anointed of God. He too is a zambia and is therefore free to say what he feels. On elections i hope we all have voters cards and will be participating on the 30th, if not whatever we say here is irrelevant. esp some of you who are out of the country. We may say whatever we want here but the voters are in the compounds, they have no access to LT. All they know is that voice they hear screaming at night, Vote….. thats all.

  75. I HOPE THIS LOW IQ REV. Sayila HAS INTERNET SO THAT HE CAN READ THE COMMENTS.IT’S A SHAME TO HAVE SUCH PEOPLE TO FORM PARTIES IN ZED.I THINK WE MUST BE GIVING THEM EXAMS SO THAT THEY FAIL BEFORE EVEN MAKING USELESS PARTIES.NOW YOUNG ZAMBIANS ARE EDUCATED AND CAN’T ALLOW SUCH STUPIDITY IN THE COUNTRY.
MEANWHILE, HIS CHURCH SHOULD BE BURNT SO THAT HE STOPS MAKING MEANINGLESS COMMENTS IN HIS SATAN CHURCH.

  76. #69 I didn’t realise you could be so shallow. ‘Poverty’ that is an acronym for some of you who always think when you talk about the other side of life it makes you richer. I had to make your day coz reality usually makes you lose your mind and talk not only carelessly but senselessly. What is poverty got to do with an honest observation? You think your hh is a small god u little hopeless wimp?

  77. The rev should save as a warning to all who want to put their trust in mortal men and not the consititution. may i remind the rev that his morals are not mine. This same rev may tommorow tell us its immorrow to let RB only finish levie’s term. lets keep guard against such, they are only there to save their selfish interests. this country has had enough of such people. they pretend to care for the people when all the time its their pockets they are concerned about. unfortunately lately we have even seen it from newspapers we thought dug for the people.

  78. normally we human beings think before we say something, but its like this reverend thinks after he has spoken and the result of that is what we have all seen from this so called man of God. And i wonder if he is really a man of God because his language is rude.Ba rev whether the electon is costly or not what we want is democracy to prevail and democracy is not cheap. and the constitution we are following could have been changed by the same people in govt so that we would avoided this situation. But unfortunately the MMD govt dont want to change the constitution due to selfishness and this is exaclty what happens.

  79. Ba sayila. Why should you be Judgemental. IF you and some of these politicial leaders where taken to have HIV tests. possibly it would be found that you are the one who is terminally ill. Moreover we need a leader who has the passion for the people of Zambia, Someone who has the will to make a huge decision so that a poor Zambian can Benefit. I hope you have heard that “RB was corruptin poor Villegers, Providing them with sugar & mealie meal!. Why didn’t he do it then,? RB is corrupt & he should be Charged for missusing public Funds for his own gain.

  80. This Rev is not normal and morally corrupt. He needs some divine intervention in his spiritual status. He is misleading people. God forgive him.

  81. No.108 WWW well written but let’s also spread the news from LT to our compound reletives-it’s not too late. Zedians abroad bring on your views we need all voices to be heard.

  82. iWE CHI REV. SHUT UP YOUR BIG MOUTH!!! YOU ARE THE PIPO WHO ARE LOOKING AT THE SKIRTS IN CHURCH INSTEAD OF PREACHING THE WORD OF GOD. PULE STYLE!!

  83. Mbala boy you should be supporting Ba Rev. not UPND.

A politician and a reverend are like clay and sand, they can never mix. Lets forgive Rev and pray hard for him to abandon politics.

He thinks a president can just be appointed just like a rev. Shame on reverend. We abide by the laws that govern the land – constitution!

Mbala boy i thought you said opposition is wasting its time, why then are you supporting UPND? Go for Ruppalah Banda. Maybe he can emerge second from Ba Sata, otherwise he gonna lag behind the race.

  84. Breaking news: Sata endorses HH – ” Ine ninkota.” “Saleni Umwaiche Ukwete amaka.” (See www .hakainde. com for details)

For the first time in my life I can now move proudly as a Zambia for Hon. Sata has done a good and great Job. He can now work under HH without me getting worried.

Vite UPND’s HH for economic independence. Let us now see what the Sata supporters on LT will write about HH.

  85. What morals is this imoral pastor talking about?
Nowadays it seems every little person who gets bored think the best way to entertain themselves is to comment about politics no matter how ignorant they are. Its so embarrasing. Gosh!!

  86. We should not allow NCC to amend the constitution in the event of the Head of State dying in power. In democracy the Head of State is chosen by the pipo. As long as someone is to be president, he has to win majority vote.

    Rev. no room for you.

  87. Rev,Please just encourage them all in any arrangement to enter the race democratically and take their humiliating defeat from the booth. Some of them we want them to see what is in winning politics.MMD will crush them all and emerge victorious. With the post Newspapers they are planning violence. That is a gumble that we are ready for to disable them once it starts. We are ready to give them massive losses in all fronts they will open up way into the so called “safe houses” the post has set apart as command posts in Lusaka and CB to hide their “A team in violence”.We shall choke those houses under mirror until the last demon is no more.We have the nation to keep in business and not fanatics.

  88. The Reverand has said sense because going by the current status, all logical people would judge that MMD will win and so will they. I dont see the oposition wining given that people have now realised how COMMITED LPM was to Zambia. In this regard, the Rev. spoke sense because the money could be used to build a University in the great NWP. VIVA MMD.

  89. The Rev may be wrong in his assertions, but are we any better? I see a lot of comments which are clearly meant to influence opinion. So even he is entitled to his. Don’t get on a high pedestal.

  90. respect for law is cardinal regardless of the cost or what ever. you cant break or change the commandments madam. it too late. you are the same people who ignored the 50plus1 vote. it does not matter who wins. however respect foe the law MUST BE UPHELD.

  91. ba Reverend Alfred Sayila i love to wake up to read some important news on LT ..not this rubbish u talking about..u are the same people who lead yo ship in the wrrong way in yo church !!! ABASH REV SAYILA RESIGN!!!!!!!

  92. avoid assuming things. 4 example we all know that we are going to die one day but why are not killing ourselves? we wait for God to decide isn’t it madam. so as much as you can assume RB in state house we can not force things just like you dont force death on you so we have to wait for the people to decide.
zambia has a lot of monies however 30% of it goes behind the doors and you do nothing about it. please dont deny us this wise expenditure. it is better to spend it this way than spending it your way- behind the back

  93. Let us approach the presidential elections with cool heads. There is no need for us to be agitated by ones’ opinion. Let us hope and pray that 30th October will be peaceful.

  94. Ba Rev & fellow supporterz we ar following the constitution even if floods wer to come,we wud still vote wen its dry, u ar think like a fool pliz, be real and yo fellow fans stop joking building universityz, hospitals watever u ar thinking of is the duty of yo Govmt wen the ar in power, u chaps must be all looking for Jobs. Viva MMD ba# 125 + the others, am sure u ar the chaps lifting thoz packets of Sugar and watever u ar yet to distribute.

  95. Umutulo mu Church nga wachepa….. kwikalafye. Do not try Politics. Democracy is expensive and we love to spend money on that. Not luxuries on FAKE Pastors like you.

  96. Lesa atwafwe. Mumbwe whats you take. Do not miss interpret our constitution the way to miss interpret the bible to get our hard to come by kwacha. You are not a man of God but a man od Satan. Tutaluke wi tu bembla makaka.

  97. The reverand must realised that Zambia has a constitution that has to be respected and democracy take its course. Takwa amaano umukamba. Are you looking for a job? Thats why people have lost hope in these so called reverand cause they are just seeking for jobs instead of concetrating to preach the word of God. We are going to elections next month!

  98. Why is it that the blame goes to oppositions not the ruling party. right now we have no leader and RB is just acting. So to say Opposition should forgo the elections it is unfortunate. Why not the MMD allow Sata who was runner up to take over or HH who is young to take over? Nchito Zavuta kubantu and everyone is looking for a Job. Reverand shut up.

  99. Reverend it’s been said here by a number of bloggers that we are following what the constitution states. I just hope this has taught our law makers a lesson, in that we should have practical and en-expensive clauses in our next constitution. As has been said go bak to your preaching. We zambians are educated enough not to be deceived. We will vote come what may.

  100. Chiluba ushered in a lot of these to ma revs who normaly hang around markets and bus stops as a counter to ZEC and other major church bodies which spoke sense against his rule. Let’s have our journalists give us news worth issues to debate on and not this crap they are realling failing us.

  101. Please men of deception donot confuse people, at least HH and Sata are actually respecting the constitution…..why is sugar day panicking.

  102. #139, ANONYMOUS IS NOT ONE PERSON. aNY PERSON WHO DOES NOT USE THE POSITION FOR USERNAME BECOMES ANONYMOUS BY DEFAULT. tHAT IS HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS.

  103. Well interesting there wud always be pipo who can say anything like sayila as they search for jobs in mmd. but it wont be that easy, we shall vote en mass. watch the space the campaign has started, HH is my man this tym around.VIVA HH

  104. BA CB were are you. Lets talk the Indians are Holding to the Jobs files are not signed anymore. This time around we shold make sure we have a President no matter the distance. We need to change the behavior of the Mine owners CB has the society to leave around the mines even after Copper is finished atleast we should have something for our Kids. Not amataba ayauma pamutenge ne fipushi mind you once the Copper is finished the land wont be used anymore the Indians we go

  105. None of the aspiring presidents understands presidence. RB Things it is about distributing Sugar and Cooking oil. Shame to the post for geving RB Sugar dady title without telling him what is expected of him. Let this chaps explaing the needs of our Economic developement they have identified and our there are going tackle the issues to bring about better economical gains that will efectively be translated into better living standards for Zambians. Please it is not about hand outs to convince voters. We should have cluase in the New Consititution nstop this. Infact this is the worst Corruption and it should be equivalent to treason

  106. Rev your comments are uncalled for, The Zambian people demand that we abide by what our constitution says just as Christians abide by what the Bible says.Do not lead us into temptation.

  107. I suport our constitution though meaningless,i support its preservation knowing that one time we will make it better. We must uphold it for it sets a bad precedent by not honouring it.But if there is room that is lawful as per LAZ observation that if the opposition did not participate there would be no need to go for a bye election.I do not like to think in terms of money because only fools put money always in their thoughts but if again it is hard earned and there is a lawful way to save it we must as well as save it.A well meaning leader of the people for the country can allow this because it saves a good intention in the heart of somebody. But chancers people with insatiable appetite …

  108. from#157..of power would want to go on and there would be people who will be supporting them too because even this people cares less or are myopic. But i always want to tell myself that it is not always just a matter of supporting but more a matter of reasoning. If in my midst i find some of my leaders unreasonable i would not want to join them and share a path with them that holds a wrong path for me.2years from now is not far.

  109. 157. I like your thinking. But remember that the situation we faced with right now is one where the glory of past developmental achievements have all being attributed to the late. Very few would trust RB coz he has no traceable performance reference. The fact that he deputised Levy does not make him a good leader. Who knows may be he was simply hiding to impress the master. Every Zambian appreciates the importance of continuity but for the whole nation to beit on a person no one can trust. KK who once employed RB as minister has been queit about RB becoming president. That alone tells us alot. A presidential term is 5 years meaning that we have only gone less than half way.

  110. Excellent thought number 159 but who would you trust one who has been close with the late president for two years or not?Is any opposition who wants to stand now going to change the country in 2years?Is any opposition party worth trying for two years when they know that their is a lawful way to save alot of money?Do they care for you and me or is their interest they are more concerned about? If they cannot think of saving that money and wait just for 2years how do you think they will use the treasury if intrusted with power? We are a growing economy and a prudent leader would really help a nation in all ways. How do we then beit on the opposition? How do we beit on the people who where once…

  111. from # 160… in the system that was so corrupt and never said a word and never even thought of quiting because they too were beneficialies in one way or the other. The fact that we cannot prove a thing against them does not mean that they were innocent but the fact that they were so near the system that was so corrupt and stayed in it makes us even more concerned about them because we do not know which coures they may take us.Iam not for RB neither am i for any opposition candidate but am just for one who would sail us to the major election. And all reason within me tells me that it cannot be one from the opposition. It is not too late.It is well to follow a cheaper way if there is one.

  112. Dont worry Rev. RB is standing for formality,he is already Republican President. Those opporsing you will remember you when the opposition will lose.Sata is too old and a sick rat at the same.We cant risk to have a sickling president anymore, HH my mbuya is still a juvenile in the political arena hence he cant make it.He(HH) should try 2011,its only then that he can get my vote.Sata is better off in the opposition.

  113. who are you to decide who is gonna die next. before you do think again; you might be the next one.
lets not play with death guys.
it seems that you are bent on taking RB to state house, but can you please advise him to stop distributing food in his capacity as the acting president. if it is rightly a goverement programme as claimed by MCDSS Minister, then why did she undertook the task herself. He is spoiling the game after all ?
one clever person may ask, since when did the cash transfer sheme change into food item. Do not abuse a well meaning scheme for godsake !

  114. #161, Neddy, does your point then mean Levy too should have instead formed a non corrupt party so that we allude the anti corruption fight to him alone? He was a founding member of the very corrupt party that put him in power. Why didnt he keep to his earlier promise by which he resigned as veep citing corruption in the MMD. Corruption has just been scrathed and if we go into details we may find he too may have benefited. How come all of his farms are suddenly mechanized? He stopped the GM maize reaching zambia yet at his farm he has grown jathropah a plant which is still not well known in zambia. What of the plot along kafue road which his daughter got even without applying for it?

  115. #161, I think i get your point, you are not decided. First, the gold bar we are looking at when we say we should have elections is the constitution. Well this document is made by people and can be changed. but changing a constitution now and again may render the whole process laughable and will imply we the people are not focused. The clause in question article 34 can be amended any time but as it is rite now, it dictates that elections be held. if we fore go elections, we should ask ourselves, when is the constitution going to be followed? why then not say the second in the previous elections be given the chance to finish off. if we follow the const, it will be difficult for

  116. #from 165
for unscupulous pipo to jump on scene as we will just flash the constitution in their faces to read. if we will not follow the const, today, what gurranty is there that tomorrow will will abide by it?

  117. Namugala has missed a point. We all know that such activities are never there let alone during elections. Why not show such activities during a time there is no election? As far as am concerned, RB went to eastern province as a guest at kulamba ceremony and him being seen dishing out sugar is just too unfortunate for him and the mmd at large. we are tired of projects that become alive only when there are elections.

  118. I we chiReverand cha fake what’s the hell are you talking about. Uli chipuba sana wa umfwa. RB is loosing what sort of christian are you who fail to see the values of democracy.
    Go to Hang!

  119. #121 WE ARE NOT TO ACCESS THAT BECOZ WE KNOW YOU A SADIST LIAR WHO WILL DO ANYTHING TO GET YOUR GOOD FOR NOTHING, ROTTEN MEAT PRESDO CANDADITE HH TO PLOT 1!
I STILL WRITE HH ROTTEN INDE NABOLA,

CHORUS: HH ROTTEN MEAT EE INDE NABOLA X10
HH ROTTEN MEAT EE INDE NABOLA X10
HH ROTTEN MEAT EE INDE NABOLA X10

  120. i wonder why some people like insulting. do you feed on insults. Why can’t you discuss the issue at hand and not insulting innocent people. #170, grow up.

  121. #164/165.164 Show me one person in the history of Africa who has resigned on moral issues.I understand that LM resigned as VP because he saw that something was wrong in the running of your country.Have respect and be proud that you in Africa had a leader like him.I know he had his own mistakes. The only problem i have see is that you have misunderstood me go back and read carefull what i have written. Why are you Anonymous is this your name? are you a Zambian. Are yuo a living being in any case?.What makes you call yourself Anonymous?

  122. My fellow young Zambians its time to stop talking and start acting…
Lets give these old timers their last chance to be in power otherwise they will take us down with them and before we know it,we might be another Zimbabwe
Lets move away from the old systems because they have failed us….
1.Look at ZESCO,load shading all the time-old system..
2.Our leaders have sunk our economy in the latrine-old ballies and sysytem
3.You have never been to any government office and everyone was doing their job!Your files would be stuck because the one to sign them is sick or has gone to their farm – old system
4.You never been to a hospital where you find a friendly Doctor or nurse-bad pays-old sys

  123. 5.The cops are not even proud of who they are and are corrupt-bad pay-old system
6.Food is extremely expensive that people have not moved to a stage where they can think of what kind of meat they should buy because they are still stuck at ‘where will i get some maize flour to cook nshima without any relish-old system and unconcerned leaders of the old days

*People of Zambia,I move that each and every Zambian should at least have three healthy meals a good health care.
*The average life expectancy should not be 37 years of age no more,it should be above 90,if all the above are nicely taken care of.
*Our Doctors, nurses and police should be well paid,so they could properly take care of u

  124. I like the discussion in #157-#161. I agree with your point of avoiding spending money unnecessarily if we can avoid it. However, our position is precarious. We have a vice president who was appointed by the president. From the developments of the last few weeks, he was not even favored to be the heir. He does not seem to have served in any capacity that would lead us to believe he would be a good president. Whatever little confidence I had in him, was lost in the aftermath of Levy’s illness. He had no control over the bickering that ensued in the MMD. To cap it all off, His silence on the pay raise for ministers and constitution office holders (hope I’m right) has been deafening.

  125. This is going to be a clear case of choosing between the least of three or more evils, because which ever way you turn, there is something not like about each of the candidates. Good discussion.
