PF Secretary General Secretary Wynter Kabimba unreservedly apologized to MUVI Television

Supporters of the Opposition Patriotic Front (PF) yesterday harassed a MUVI Television crew which was assigned to cover the party’s general Conference in Kabwe.

Inutu Mwanza and Bruce Mwale were verbally harassed by convicted PF leader, Michael Sata’s body guard, Judge Ngoma in the presence of Post newspapers journalist, George Chellah while covering the proceedings of the conference.

Ngoma, who was last year convicted on two counts of assault in the Lusaka Magistrate’s court further issued death threats to defenceless, Inutu Mwanza.

The Crew was accused of filming for freelance journalist, Chanda Chimba III’s controversial programme “Stand Up for Zambia”.

The duo confirmed the development in Lusaka.

And Muvi Television Management described the action by the cadres as unfortunate. Company Director for Human resource and Administration, Alfred Tembo has since demanded an apology from the opposition party with immediate effect.

A visibly annoyed, Mr Tembo added that journalists should be allowed to operate in an environment which is free from political interference and intolerance.

But the Patriotic Front(PF) has Unreservedly apologized to MUVI Television for the incident. Secretary-General, Wynter Kabimba issued the apology in Lusaka.

  1. Guys mulelemba bwino ichisungu “nutu Mwanza and Bruce Mwale were verbally harassed by convicted PF leader, Michael Sata’s body guard, Judge Ngoma in the presence of Post newspapers journalist, George Chellah while covering the proceedings of the conference.”
In the quote above Sata could be the convict.  Thats not  what you want to say.

  2. Mr Kabimba and Ba shi Chilufya President Sata. Please clean up your house, this boys may cost you. You’re almost there and boys start this foolish things muchalo. Free advice or the Ichobo will not cross pa me shi

  3. The convention was meant to make PF more appealing to voters, unfortunately its not happening. Starting from the sham ‘voting’, sorry the failure to allow people to vote to this violence against defenceless journalists , it must be like the worst nightmare for PF sympathisers.

  4. We need English Colleges to be established in Zambia to improve our verbal and written english. The verbatim is an eye sore in time you read any tabloid. There is also a ” He said”, on every line. Why not put condense everything one said into a paragraph if if you want to use quotes, just quote the source. We really need English language colleges serious where journalists are going to benefit too.

  5. Who is a dictator / what is dictatorship, and how many dictatorships do we have in Zambia?
A dictatorship is defined as an autocratic form of government in which the government is ruled by an individual, the dictator. In zambia we have two types of dictatorships: TOTALITARIAN DEMOCRACY, AND GUIDED DEMOCRACY.
Totalitarian democracy is a term made to refer to a system of government in which lawfully elected representatives maintain the intergrity of a nation state whos citizens, while granted the right to vote, have little or no participation in the decision- making process of the government. WHICH THE MMD LED GOVERNMENT HAS BEEN SUBJECTING POOR ZAMBIANS TO FOR DCADES NOW.
    To be Continued…

  6. Continued from # 8. Then there is GUIDED DEMOCRACY also called managed democracy:
Guided democracy is a term for a democratic government with increased autocracy. in this case, governments are ligitimated by by elections tha, while free and fair, are used by the government to continue their same ploicies and goals or, in other words, the government has laerned to control elections so that the people can exercise all their rights without truly changing public policy. while following basic democratic principles there can be minor deviations towards authoritarianism. under manged democracy, the electorate is prevented from having a signifiant impact on the policies adopted by the state through continous emploment of public relations techniques. To be Continued…

  7. continued from #11
these tendencies have widely been exhibited by the MMD government and yet at the same time, it is them “MMD” who have been and are still pointing fingers at this one person [Sata], accusing him of habouring dictatorial simptoms and thus should not be voted into higher office whilst four fingers are pointing at them. Good voting this year fellow countrymen and women.

  8. From the Post for your own analysis:

“For one to contest the party presidency, their candidature needs to be backed by 20 delegates from each province. And since in PF we have zoned this country into 10 provinces, you need 200 delegates to support your candidature in order for your nomination to be valid,” Sata said.

“So I managed to get support from the 200 delegates and paid the K1 million nomination fee. But as you noticed, we waited till the closing of nominations at 18:15 hours and nobody came forward to challenge me.”

  9. #13, the key word is ‘we’, when he said ‘we waited’. Mr Sata as acandidate was not necessarily suppose to be waiting, that was Mulwila’s job. But by saying we it tell you the deeper meaning. Sata was part of the electoral giminastics to prevent anyone from challenging. In addition they made it hard for such a person by introducing red tape, unnecessary requirement for 200 people to support within the party. If you are not party to inviting delagates, how can you manage 200 out 0f 3000 of Mr Sata’s invitees?

  10. The post newspaper has failed to inform the public what went on at the PF convention because there is nothing to write about. It is very sad to see how some old fashioned politicians manage to brain wash younger and upcoming politicians. Is that the democracy that Mulongoti, Chitala, Patrick Mwanawasa and others who have joined PF want to boast about? Anyway the most important thing is what goes into my bank account. Dying for mother Zambia when others are not prepared to retire from politics is out of question for me. Those who have joined PF recently are in for rude shock, they have a very big dictator ready to strike any time, the cobra.

  11. Someone need to tame Sata and his kaponyas before they vomit on the peace and freedom we are enjoying.

  12. Good morning

I agree with the bloggers #2 and #6 – the report could have been written better. I had to read it a couple of times myself to make out the facts. The headline talks about “cadres” and yet in the report we only find one person – Mr. Judge Ngoma singled out as the one who was harassing the journalists.

As for the apology, the response shows maturity but the party should go further than that and sort out the troublesome cadres. They should be held accountable and disciplined or even suspended from the party to serve as a warning to other potential antagonists.

  13. The actions by those thugs who indulged in the acts of harassing the innocent messengers at the just ended PF convention ought to be condemned by all right thinking Zambians. These thugs are there to tarnish the good image that the people of Zambia have built over the years, that of being the beacon of peace in Africa. I thus wish to join Winter Kabimba and the entire PF organisation in apologizing to all our fellow Zambians and Muvi TV crew involved that we sorry.

  14. At least the Pf has shown maturity by apologising, unlike other political parties who justifies violent behavior from their members by saying that our cadres were provoked.

  15. The vigilantees are back in the name of PF. We do not want totalitarian rule in Zambia in this age and era. Abash SATA and VIVA 20HH

  16. Where Kaponyaz gather, such is expected. If by any stroke of chance Pa Fwaka forms Government, lawlessness and saddism will be the order of the day.

  17. An apology was not created as a justification for a wrong. Its clear desperation has gotten the better of ka Cobra and homosexual Namakando the dictator from the pf photo album, incorrectly referred to as “the post!” Violence is a sign of cowardice and defeat and its factual that there’s a limit to immaturity and sillyness. Even fools like mushota get tired of immaturity

  18. PFs treatment of the media is disgusting. What does Dr. Guy Scott have to say about this now? Dr. Guy Scott recently launched scathing attacks at the Zambian Watchdog simply because he perceived the ZWD as not reporting in favor of PF. To add icing to the cake, PF barred the state media from covering the convention. With this latest development of PF harassing journalists, it is worrying what these guys would do should the impossible situation happen that they form govt.

    • Mr Capitalist, ZWD has no journalistic integrity in my eyes. I have had cause to ask them to remove an item on their site which was defamatory to myself. Their response was to challenge me to sue them, I commenced action and they promptly removed the item; by which time several people had seen the offending item. If that is the media that you think is credible, then good for you! Other people have had different experiences, and they are free to express them.

  19. PFs treatment of the media is disgusting. What does Dr. Guy Scott have to say about this now? Dr. Guy Scott recently launched scathing attacks at the Z.W.D simply because he perceived the Z.W.D as not reporting in favor of PF. To add icing to the cake, PF barred the state media from covering the sham convention. With this latest development of PF harassing journalists, it is worrying what these guys would do should the impossible situation happen that they form govt.

  20. PF should respect the media and respect journalists rights to operate freely in a democratic nation regardless of what they report. And so what if Mr. Chanda Chimba III wanted to cover the sham PF convention, as a journalist in a democratic nation, he has that right. PF should respect the media and journalists. Zambia is not Zimbabwe.

PFs behavior towards journalists of late is extremely disgusting, unacceptable and unjustifiable.

  21. #2, is there a difference? if there is, what is a convicted body guard doing around bwana sata anyway? judge ngoma=bwana sata.

  22. When PF sees a mistake in their cadres they apologise (a sign of maturity and good leadership). However MMD cadres beat up the post journalist at the airport in full view of RB and no apology was given. Dr Solomon Musonda shot a PF SUPORTER IN SERENJE UP TO NOW NO APOLOGY HAS BEEN GIVEN. In fact he is even challenging the nine Months jail sentence when he should have gone in for not less than five years. Inocent lives were shot at and maimed in Western province instead of an apology from MMD George Kunda justified the killings. So can someone tell me here who is a better devil between MMD and PF.All the PF cadres did was to warn Inutu not to give what she was filming to dull Chanda Chimba. A GOOD REASON WHY ZNBC, DAILY MAIL AND TIMES OF BANDA were barred.

  23. # 28
You have it all mingled out. There is no single Government that will entertain arm twisting tactics and arnachy in a country. When the Government mantains law and order and in the process, thugs are maimed or killed, there should never be an appology. People who incite rioter’s behaviour, those that champion anarchy in the name of human rights and democracy should be to blame when innocent citizens are made victims. NO appology for such uncooth behaviour…I say no appology.

  24. Is there anything wrong in chanda chimba using muvi footage?A ‘moving picture’ is more factual than a writen word.Infact CC3 buys these footages from media houses and individuals. And what is this judge GOON still doing outside prison.

  25. these thugs will never rule Zambia..how on earth do they do that..?threaten a young lady? where kaponyas gather…!who said it was a convention..?

  26. PF Cadres are just like that. I am not surprised because they are eager to go to plot 1. MMD are cool cadres and very organised. Viva MMD Viva RB

  27. This is what you get when people like Guy Scott go around making reckless comments about not tolerating a hostile media. If PF expects to be elected, they need to do much better than that – especially their leaders.

  28. Mwamwaziz and a Kaponyaz are designed to shout slowgans. They are also designed to insult and harass people. A Kaponya will always be a Kaponya even with change of Gov’t, the mentality does not change. How can a party identfy itself with the scum of society?

  29. Yes, we will continue to do this (thug life)as soon as we touch plot 1.your sarcasm will be heard no more.Pa bwato here we come.

  30. At least an appology has been issued from the PF unlike the MMD that allow William Banda to go scotch free & without issuing any appologies!!! BIG UP to PF!

  31. Journalists are to be protected.

Let me move away from the topic at hand and ask:

Of the four below who would change Zambia rightfully with God’s backing:

    1) Brigadier General Miyanda
    2) Micheal Sata
    3) Hakainde Hichilema
    4) Rupia Banda ?

  32. Why is it in Zambia and other African nations, we shun leaders like the two late greats, Kwame Nkuruma of Ghana and Sir Seretse Khama of Botswana?

  33. This bugs my conscience to this day, great leaders like Mandela we have had, why is it that of the 55 presidents of this continent, only 4 are true leaders and the rest midocre hooligans and just plain incompetent? How as voters do we shut our wise parts of the grey matter and subverse our intellects ? We all know that the three front runners in Zambian politics are no good period, and yet as people we back them up like sheep with no sherpard.

  34. I dearly miss the bloggers on Lusaka Times  of 2007. LT was also a great news site before everything became political and propaganda based. Please LT one day make that three please print articles of smart wise and God fearing Zambians, to help reactivate the commonsense factor of Zambian readers.

  35. But the Patriotic Front(PF) has Unreservedly apologized to MUVI Television for the incident. Secretary-General, Wynter Kabimba issued the apology in Lusaka.
AN APPOLOGY SHOULD PUT AN END TO THIS STORY.

  36. The Homo newspaper has failed to inform the nation of what really happened at the gay club convetion in Kabwe, nothing baba zero, they just went there to take pictures, what a shame.

  37. when something is rotten to the core, no amount of image building, even by the post, will stop the rot from sipping out. A thug will always be one, no mater how much you try and conceal it.

  38. Thats what PF is known for. You have a chief thug at the helm of the party. Fake apology, go to hell thugs, we love the peace we are enjoying!

The newspaper for HOMOS failed to report anything on the proceedings of the convention coz birds of a feather flock together.

  39. #16 You expected The Post to put up a sugar coated story about the conference, so that you say the paper iz a PF vuvuzela the way state media iz to the MMD?
#42 Just like in a game of football or indeed any competitive sport, God doez not take sidez, it is the people and the normal ideal fair/unfair conditionz set that determine the victor.

  40. I am still surprised that Zambians were hoping MCS will be more democratic that Rupiah. Is it the same Sata who was in mmd, or there is another one. If it is the same Sata, are you people hoping that he has miraculosly changed his behaviour. Is there someone who can change at that age?. Lets put him into state house, then we shall experience the real Sata. Watch my words.

  41. # 42 General Miyanda is a good guy, deciplined.
HH is an economic manager as evidenced by the numerous companies he runs with foreign investors, eg. Manda HILL. He is the biggest employer of all the four.
RB is credible and knows what is good and wrong. The problem is animal in man. His age is also against him.

The other fellow is a grade four and knows nothing. His understanding of issues is limited at a certain point, where he becomes blank. He is a loose canon coz of his dictatorial tendencies. He would sink the nation!

Whats your take on the above?

  42. Deja Vu – Apology without any action against the thug who perpetrated this violence is no apology at all.

  43. Chase them except POST. If you know they are Banda’s agents. Kick them out. Change is inevitable this year. Wina Alila

  44. I want all of you to visualise RD and Sata in the next four years. Are we sure we should put any of them is state house?

  45. MPOLOKOTO: Learn to talk sense. Wisdom and leadership has nothing to with Education. Look at HH. He is an Educated F.O.O.L. That guys can never rule Zambia. Not in our life time. The greatest businessmen and successful people are not the most educated. The greatest leaders and politicians are not the most Educated. Educated people are too proud and therefore not good for Administration. He S.U.C.K.S – HH and Banda S.T.I.N.K.S.

  46. 54 VJ Rigger – I have said kick out NGOMA, but then has MMD ever taken action against Chalwe and William Banda let alone apologise for their insults and violence? Without justfying foolish Ngoma;s action I wish to remind you that MUVI management only asked for an apology not anything further. How ever if I had the power I would ensure this Ngoma plays no further part in PFs affairs until his days on earth are over

  47. #53 That’s another very big problem we have around, when you “see blue” about somebody then you can’t see any other color. You have said “very true” thingz about the four namez put forward, but are you sure there iz nothing pozitve about Sata, and that the other three have no cobwebz whatsoever?

  48. 46 Mwanawakwitu – I concur with you. I once ditched the site but I failed. I dont know why people have to insult each other over Sata, RB, HH etc fellas who dont even know them. The fight should be in the ballot box.

  49. If you ask Sata a simple question,” what is the current GDPof Zambia?” AM SURE HE WOULD SAY “DOUNCHI KUBEBA”.

  50. #60, Space was limited. However Sata is a trained schemer, trained by VJ. He is an organiser, a gifted orator and was hard working. Please bear in mind that I dont hate the man, actually I like him but am not resistant to change. The world is moving on as no one is indispensable. KK was hard working and so were Elija Mudenda, Penza, Chigaga, G.Zulu etc.
But time does not wait for anyone my brother. Lets not be resistant to change otherwise we shall be stagnant. We need new ideas. Old guys are analog but we need digital arrangement now. Note that analog systems are bad, they were good then and served us well. Its time!!

  51. from @ 63 Sorry I meant that analog system was necissary then, but things have changed as technology has improved. The same concept applies to human beings to some extent, though the older the wiser, but imiti ikula, empanga! The old will always be a spring of wisdom and that includes Sata. Was KK an under five when he became president?

  52. Big IQ, I forgive you for insulting. My point was that at least someone should have that basic understanding of economic issues which your man lacks. Like it or not, your man belongs to the archives not because he is a bad man but coz of time and age, which has caught up with him. He had the time and did what he did, thanks to him. But time has come for such to pave way for the young. I will correct you again, no one stinks not you, not me, not Sata and not RB nor HH. Such are bad words to use but I forgive you, for you need deliverance. I will ask Dany Pule to pray for you. God bless you.

  53. The used condoms picked at the rock of authority after the pf convetion and some fluid inside and feaces outside. what does that tell you.

  54. Mpolokoto, you are indeed wise. I wish this thing called Big IQ can learn. But you see, such people are rotten and can never change. The guy follws the wind and must be a street boy.

  55. #66 You’ve made my day! Just one question, were there any people from the post at the convention? People like Mumembe, Makulupange etc?

  56. Big IQ , There was no insult by Mpolokoto, he just hammered the nail on the head. The brother just described Sata. I understand your hatred and frustration towards HH and RB. You hate HH coz he refused to be used by Sata. But the way you are going about it is a wrong way. Instead of campaining and telling us the positive things about your Sata, you are insulting. What kind of govt would we have if this thing called Sata became president?

  57. Big IQ @58: A president has to be educated coz if you will just put dimwits in state house, he would be a rubber stamp, doing things whose consequences he doesnt know. Its like giving a big company to one hard working town centre boy to run it as MD. Do you think he can manage? Education is important if you want to stop selling vinkubala on the street. Atleast ZIM still produced sweets and chocolates when they were down, but for our non-manufucturing country, most of you chaps will just be selling vinkubala in neighbouring countries. Its people like you we are concerned about. Some of us can still survive in a run-down economy. Its you who wouldnt. No grade fives at state house.

  58. Mpolokoto, we have tried on this site to educate people like Big IQ but, as every PF kaponya is, they have proved to be untrainable.

  59. Wanzelu, thanks man, we just have to let them know that they will not dictate our destine coz they are doing it without knowledge of what they are doing. In any case, its them that would really sufer if we went down as a country. What scares me most is the theiving culture, which would be born by a bad economy.

  60. Mpolokoto, the problem with these chaps is that they dont understand the meaning of “opinion,” to which everyone is entitled. To them, anyone who comments on Sata’s education background deserves to be insulted. Thats why some of us have let the party, full of such mentality. No one knows more thatn Sata. We have the right to scrutinise him, since he has offered himself for the high office. We are not Sata’s enemies guys, we just dont want to sink as a nation.

  61. @ Mpolokoto thanks for the nice response to my questionnaire lol. From your answer I see that both HH and RB would have worked well under miyandas discipline.

@ De Javu thanks for staying on, you Olympia extension chick, Nine Chale even Cutey keep the LT old timers blogging.

  62. Imwe a Kolwe abemba lekani kutukwana, atase! Just send Sata to night school. Education is very important, thats why even KK made it free, but people like Sata chose ignorance.

  63. @74, Mwanawakwitu, I just came back to say a big thank you to you and many other bloggers who have kept issues in perspective. I can only hope that this site can return to some semblance of tolerance and good old fashioned intellectual exchanges that it was known for at some point.

  64. @ No # 77 Olympia extension Chick! Nice to know you are well and blogging with that sharpness as always. I am good too. My guess is the old issue based bloggers moved on to professions, marriages and mostly got discouraged due to the political and tribal biases that took over LT. Even when I told people on LT there is no such thing as a tribe. The fight to keep LT issue based my prediction is that, we shall accomplish due to people changing tune after this Years elections. Thanks for staying and sharing welcome contributions.

  65. No matter what you bloggers wanna sugar coat things, us Tongas can only want HH in plot 1 cos he is our tribes man and most of my fellow Tongas are tribalists!
No Tonga shall get into plot so long we dream in cattle
It’s for us as a people to embrace all other tribes and conform to the notion of 1 Zambia 1 nation.
This Tonga and Lozi thing will just keep us out of being part of true Zambian rulers

  66. As Tongas we come on this blogger to insult Sata at any given opportunity and yet when we hear anything bad said about HH we get upset.
Being Tonga does not give us the right to be greedy and tribal, let us respect each other not insult people and label them Kaponyas just because they are not Tonga or Lozi

  67. 79 & 80 you are not a tonga ,you are too foo.lish to cheat us on this blog .too cheap politics mate.no tonga will blog this cheap propaganda .be a bit wise this is too cheap.

  68. What’s your take SATA- kaponya, dictator, hardworker and Ruphia Banda- Corrupt, undemocratic,in power.

  69. Thinking out aloud, you pipo claiming Satan is not educated, I thought Cobra had two degrees. Remember the degree clause?
