Patriotic front president Michael Sata has thanked Republican President Rupiah Banda for making him popular and stronger.

Mr. Sata has alleged that the propaganda created by the MMD has made the PF to be stronger and known in almost all the areas in Zambia.

He said that the propaganda through Chanda Chimba’s stand up for Zambia has built the party bigger than it was in the last few years.

Mr. Sata has further appealed to Zambians not to listen to cheap political lies by the MMD just to dent the image of the party.

Speaking on special programme on radio phoenix this morning, MR. Sata has further called on Zambians to go in large numbers to cast their vote.

The Patriotic Front has further boasted of being the most experienced presidential candidate in the 2011 elections.

And Mr. Sata has said that his party is anxiously waiting for MMD Chipata central Member of Parliament Lameck Mangani to join the PF.

And Kafulafuta Member of Parliament George Mpombo has charged the resignation Lameck Mangani is a sign that the MMD is finished and dead.

Mr. Mpombo said that Mr. Mangani’s resignation should clearly demonstrate that the MMD is not intact in Eastern Province as stated by the MMD officials.

He said that the resignation of the Chipata central Member of Parliament has destroyed the myth that the MMD is intact in Eastern Province.

Mr. Mpombo said that now the MMD has remained vulnerable, President Rupiah Banda should be commended for having managed to destroy the MMD.

Mr. Mpombo added that the MMD has no chance of returning power after the 2011 elections because of the power leadership being offered by president Rupiah Banda.

He said that the MMD will suffer heavy defeat because every day it is being uprooted through high profile leaders leaving the ruling party.

The former Defense Minister has since advised Mr. Mangani to stand firm describing him as a man of principle.

Mr. Mpombo said this in an interview today.

Meanwhile, Kasama central Member of Parliament Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba has said that the MMD under President Rupiah Banda is not going anywhere.

He has dispelled reports that him and Mr. Sata are not in talking terms, describing such reports as desperate attempts by the MMD to destabilize the PF.

In Africa when you are a minister, nomatter how bright one may be can not do things according to your wish.If you say we connect mumbwa to copperbelt and you are not a president every one will say no your idea.. sata may have been in government for a long time but was never president of zambia to put across his wishes accordingly.

    Mangani has shot himself in the head. He will not win under PF ticket. Eastern Province does not easily get duped. When everyone was jumping on MMD Wagon in 1991, the East stood its ground and refused to vote for Chiluba coz, they did not trust him

    When the mathematics was not adding up for Mwanawasa on the national level, Fred False Prophet Mmembe & others advised Levy to find someone in the east to turn around the votes to MMD. This from Mmembe, was to stop Sata from going into power while he (Mmembe) was enjoying his jovial business relationship with Levy, Magande and Mathani.

  19. Mangani is a force to reckon with in Chipata. if truly he has joined PF, things will turn around for PF. It could be a great boost for the PF. Ive lived in Chipata for some time and I know what Im talking about.

    Levy came up RB’s name, he Mmembe was very happy with RB. It took 3 attempts, lead by Mulongoti & the Late Tetamashimba to convince RB from retirement to help MMD. In the end RB agreed and went flat out to convince the whole of Eastern to vote for MMD, which in the end secured Mwanawasa to power as appreciated by those that were close to Mwanawasa such as Masebo, Mpombo, Mulongoti, Maureen etc….

    Therefore, the defection of Mangani is not a factor; he is just another person that has lost his bearing through the wife a PF supporter that has now cost him dearly. He will be going to PF very half-baked. MMD will return the seat easily

    PF need to be concentrating on tangible campaign not popular’s 15 minutes fames.

  22. Mangani can be a strong force in Chipata but he won’t manage to win votes for PF across the whole country. Even in chipata he will be competing with RB. Mangani might win as an MP, but PF forget. All these MPs resigning to join PF are daft ones lacking proper and objective analysis of the situation. Ask Mike Mulongoti who is already secretely regretting. By this time next year, many of them will be walking in pata-patas, not being able to afford even money for a mini-bus. The only person laughing here is Michael Sata who is managing to con and dupe younger politicians even though he can hardly read and write…Sata must be saying ‘look at these *****s resigning to join my party, they can’t see I’m finished!!!!’

Defections always happen towards the end especially for disgruntled politicians who may have lost in the primaries and want to chance some space in the postulation.Mangani is a  former tobacco floor counter. It amazes us today for people to say mangani is a political heavy weight when the chap is very dull and failed as Minister of Home Affairs.If this is the calibre of people joining PF then the nation is doomed if by mistatke PF takes over. No wonder people say PF and MMD are the same because all former MMD members are regrouping under PF. So what change is in PF…rather it should be called an extension of MMD.

I am reminded by the Post Newspaper headline in 2008 titled, “Satamania hits South” with pictures of large crowds all to make it seem like you are popular in Southern Province. What happened in South? You were a distant third. The votes you got in Southern Province were hardly anything to talk about.

    So Mr. Sata, you can ease your ego on the illusion that you’re popular but the votes may just bring you back to reality. RB and the MMD is winning with a landslide victory this year.

    Well, the race is on again… and the boat is on course. With the failing of the pact, I was beginning to think that PF had been weakened, but with the MMD leaders now shifting camps to the opposition, I must comply that the tables are turning.

    If there has been any perpetrated action to discredit the oppostion through the media, this plan has clearly defaulted and only resulted in popularity for Mr. Sata. Whether this popularity will make him reach State House will only be known after the polls (which date btw??).

  47. I do not know why people in dissapora use bad language about Zambian politics. Since they are enjoying wherever they are let them keep things to themselves. I remember one time the late president Patrick Levy Mwanawasa challeged the people in dissapora by saying that they are cowards because they are runnng away from challenges. He told them to come back and deveop their country. But there they are busy talking rubbish about the country.

  50. And for those still gripped with fear whether Mr. Sata can hold the nation together like ALL our previous presidents have done, I can only say this: we have a constitution.

    Mr. Sata may be his own man but IF elected as president, he will have to comply with the constitution which will give him power to inherit the current leadership system – with the armed forces and civil administration. In that case, there will be stability. He will have to purge out RB’s team and replace it with his own system but with so many MMD leaders now in his camp, I don’t think he can afford to push people around. He will definately need some of them to navigate.

    This is my anaysis but I stand to be reproved.
