Former Parliamentary Chief Whip Vernon Mwaanga says the MMD is proud of President Rupiah Banda’s achievements over the last three years.
Mr. Mwaanga has urged the people of Malambo Constituency to vote for President Banda in the September 20 polls as well as MMD aspiring candidate for the area Maxwell Mwale.
Mr. Mwaanga says he is consistent in saying that President Banda is president for all Zambians.
He adds that it is further an honour for the people of Eastern Province to produce a President.
He was speaking during a public rally at Mfuwe International Airport grounds on Sunday.
And United Liberal Party-ULP Leader Sakwiba Sikota has called on the people of Mambwe District not to vote for politicians that have called them names before.
Mr. Sikota says Patriotic Front-PF Leader Michael Sata had alleged that government was wasting time and money in constructing the Chipata-Mfuwe road which only led to where animals live.
And former Vice President Enock Kavindele says the people of North Western Province are happy with the unprecedented levels of development embarked on by President Banda.
And Malambo parliamentary candidate Maxwell Mwale has appealed to people in the area to re-elect him so that he can complete development programmes embarked on by President Banda.

Ba Vee Jay! Mwabuka taata! Anyone who is chosen to take the presidency assumes “being for all Zambians” just like a medical doctor in public service is for all Zambians, a civil servant, soldier, policeman, teacher, nurse…… you name them so long they take responsibility to provide a needed service for mother Zambia and her people! HH, Siulapwa, Milupi, Nawakwi, Miyanda, Sata, Magande, nabambi bashala will be for all Zambians if given the mandate to be in state house
sakala VJ
When is this VJ retiring to where the old go? Sakwiba Sikota Formed a Party to propell others. To be frank I admired this guy when he was vice to Mazoka. The guy has now just turned something else. What is he waiting for up to now for him to declare himself MMD? fortunately I have never admired Kavindele in all my life coz he is never consistent. Do we need Chanda Chimbwi III to tell us what Kavindele was saying about RB just not long ago?
I get surprised with this cheap politics of fooling pipo tht vote for me so tht i can complete the projects, wat a foolish and stupity way to campaign! And president for all pipo, who cant be and has neva been president for all pipo? Why not raise issues pls Maxwell Mwale and stupity VJ! Even after 20yrs u wil stil say i finish projects-empty politicians!
Insulting VJ or indeed any MMD leader, cadre or sympathizer will not win you the election. It is instead exposing you as fools only fit to be spectators than competitors on the political front.
Ba Bitter PILL MASO YENU
Insulting VJ or indeed any MMD leader, cadre or sympathizer will not win you the election. It is instead exposing you as fools only fit to be spectators than competitors on the political front.Try to be considerate.
vj is a great asset to the mmd vote rb chwee chweee
Chwee Chwee VIVA VJ, Wapya munzi, the hour is in full gear. You can only respect FTJ by winning this years votes because that was his dream.
I think VJ still remainz among the few Zambianz that should have been prezident of the country, but must now consider taking the role KK haz assumed with regard to partizan politix. He iz still a valuable national asset despite the one or two nasty thingz he been associated with.
Some of you guys are pathetic. You damn everyone. I may not be VJ’s great fan, but I respect the man for the contribution he has mde to our country.
In fact that’s more respect than I have for one Mr. Sata.
What is it with Zambians? There is so much bitterness. I reiterate the advice already given above. If you want to win hearts show civility, humility, empathy and respect. Insulting others only serves to alienate the moderates whose voltes your so desperately need. You PF guys are doing a disservice to yourselves and your leaders.
That said your frustrations are now manifesting. And one commiserates.
SATA STERNLY WARNED ON HIS CHAWAMA OPTION OF GUNS AND PANGAS
EVANGELICAL Church of Zambia (ECZ) presiding Bishop Paul Mususu has warned against any agitated use of firearms and pangas as the country goes to the polls on September 20 this year and has since urged Zambians to elect credible leaders interested in developing the country.
Bishop Mususu said Zambians should desist from carrying out risky campaigns by use of dangerous weapons that could ignite the country into flames. He said the current national peace prevailing in the country must be maintained.
SATA STERNLY WARNED ON HIS CHAWAMA OPTION OF GUNS AND PANGAS
He said the use of firearms or pangas similar to what happened during the by-elections in Mufumbwe, Chilanga and Mapatizya in which violent activities occurred should be avoided this year.
Bishop Mususu said Zambians regardless of political affiliations should try to avoid campaigns of using pangas that could put the country into flames and scuttle the peace that Zambia had continued to enjoy.
“I personally condemn any use of firearms or hatred. Zambia is one country and it’s ours but if some politicians start talking about use of firearms or pangas, it’s very dangerous and can put the country into flames.
SATA STERNLY WARNED ON HIS CHAWAMA OPTION OF GUNS AND PANGAS
“We should not kill each other because elections come and go. We have to maintain our current peace even after elections. I urge all Zambians to choose credible leaders interested to develop our country,” he said.
He said this in an interview yesterday during an annual Lusaka based ECZ general conference at Chamba Valley. The meeting which started on Thursday last week, was attended by members from various ECZ branches like Kafue and hongwe.
Bishop Mususu said certain issues some politicians talked about had potential to ignite a fire that could put the entire country into flames. He said Zambians should learn from many refugees who came into the country to seek refuge.

He called on politicians to carry out issued based campaigns. Bishop Mususu said though every citizen had a right and freedom to choose leaders of their own choice they should be careful and mindful to elect credible leadership with a passion to developing the country.
He commended the Government for upgrading several township roads in Lusaka. The ECZ church in Chamba Valley area had also benefited from some such selected roads being rehabilitated.
PF to face rough campaign – RB
PRESIDENT Rupiah Banda has said the Patriotic Front (PF) will face a rough and restless campaign ride ahead of the September 20 presidential and general elections because the MMD has performed well.
And President Banda has expressed disappointment with the high rate at which the PF is peddling excuses after repeated demands for him to announce the date of elections.
President Banda who was speaking when he addressed a public rally for his candidature and for Malambo Constituency parliamentary candidate Maxwell Mwale in Mfuwe yesterday, said the legal suits over the origins of his parents, vice-president George Kunda’s stay and another one against the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) were just an excuse on the part of the PF.
When VJ was risking his young life fighting for Zambia’s independence, Michael Sata was busy being an INFORMER for the British against his own people. That is why Bashi Chilufya does not feature in the history of the independence struggle. As usual there are always apologists for this man Sata.
President Banda said with their full knowledge that the agenda they were pushing was incorrect, the PF leadership had gone ahead with allegations that he hailed from Malawi and Zimbabwe and he wondered how he could have come from two countries.
The president urged Zambians to vote MMD parliamentarians and councillors to ease the flow of development and ignore the PF because its leader Michael Sata was in Government before and never did what he was now promising the people of Zambia.
Mr Banda said the opposition had underrated his campaign capabilities and demanded that he should announce the date of the election before they could put their house in order and warned that they should expect a more intense campaign trail.
President Banda told Mfuwe residents that he was proceeding to Mpulungu, Nakonde and Kasama and would only be in Lusaka on Wednesday to rest for one day before proceeding to the next destination.
About 42 members from the PF, UPND and UNIP defected to the MMD while MMD candidate for Nsefu Ward Damian Mphasi scooped his seat unopposed because the opposition could not find candidates in the area due to lack of members.
The president told the cheering crowd that when he ascended to power in 2008, opposition political parties contested that the roads were bad, there was lack of clinics, hospitals and that there was no good school infrastructure which he recorded without speaking much.
The president said the opposition also raised the issue of occasional fuel shortages and he continued listing the concerns down for future actions.
He said the issue of the high cost of fuel at the time was topical and that he had responded by declaring a uniform pricing mechanism and took steps to stop further fuel shortages while declaring hunger as history by producing bumper crops harvests for two years consecutively.
Mr Banda said having listed almost all the major complaints, time had come for him to start implementing them but the opposition had resorted to flimsy and endless excuses.
He said he would however focus on the campaigns because he wants to win under clear circumstances. The president said his Government had procured 300 masts to address the challenges of interrupted mobile phone access in some parts of the country while other promises would be further home ownership, job creation and attracting more foreign investment.
“We have fixed roads, hospitals, clinics, schools and we are calling all medical doctors who are working in other countries like Namibia, South Africa and others to come back to Zambia and work in our hospitals.
Chwe cchwe R.B cchwe cchwe mmaxwell
This chap should have been locked up years ago for drug trafficking by KK…this walking coffin!!

Non of these two can make a good president.
The bottom line is that MMD and RB were ready for this election by January this year. PF were so confused they thought MMD was not ready. Yaba!
Ba VJ can tell a winner on sight.
jane nafuti nafuti, R4M
It is only the corrupt who are proud of RB because they have had a field day but the rest of Zambians are being cheated that RB loves them what a shame
VJ was in south africa recently via Nairobi; no wonder they are insisting on printing ballot papers outside Zambia. He left Zambia pa 24th July, midnight flight. After he is back, on the campaign team with RB. This year if you rig you also need to be strong because mukaponoka
People are suffering in this country, look at the dollar K5000=00.Chinese complaining power very expensive to run the mines.Where are we going?
I thought this man Sakwiba is an educated and respected lawyer. I am really baffled at what am seeing in this man. Is he really a lawyer or just claims to be one. I have now come to realise why he conived with his friends to fix Dr Mathani. Bwana Sakwiba i think you are big disappointment in the zambian politics. Wish you well as puppet or a chintelelwe.
Ba VJ is not a greatful man how could he praise RB for the work which was done by mwanawasa? because these projects are long term projects which where planned a long time ago.
#31. Bwana Sakwiba has not lied on anything he said during that rally – that sata said the road rb is making to mfuwe is useless as it just leads to where animals live.
#32. to me i think finishing projects which are already in place i think is the best as opposed to abandoning them for fresh ones, if you remember bwana even on those 2008 campaigns everyone including sata who was a pupported critic of mwanawasa was campaigning that he is the best man to continue on the legacy or from where levy stopped from, now bwana pelsi is that bad? i think give credit where its due …….
decaying politicians who knows where the bread is buttered are all lining up for the after election party ,thereafter share the spoils of ill gotten victory.what is the alternative ,sata ?god forbid.
Ishala ibi ukupubisha abakulu kwati ba VJ

“He adds that… it is an honour for the people of Eastern Province to produce a president”. This is statement cannot be associted with a sensible person.
ba VJ should retire again…we tired of these recycled politicians. But i still love MMD and President Banda. The other politicians like uyu VJ i dont trust them. Even those who commented that VJ did alot i dont know where they are getting it from. I love my motherland Zed! May the best party win! its democracy at work bane…
