The 5.5 million presidential ballots have been printed, and Universal Print Group projects manager Vik Vaid has told journalists that printing of the ballots which started on Tuesday August 16, 2011 was completed on Monday at 10:00hrs

Mr Vaid has also said thirty seven National Assembly constituency ballot papers have been printed so far.

Most of the constituencies with completed National Assembly ballot papers are in Central, Copperbelt and Eastern provinces.

MR. Vaid has named some of the completed constituencies as Chama South, Keembe , Mumbwa, Lufwanyama, Kafulafuta, Kankoyo, Nkana and Mpongwe.

And Mr Vaid has dismissed assertions that ballot papers could have been printed earlier than Tuesday which was the scheduled date.

He says it is not possible that the company could have printed earlier than scheduled because they only received data on the presidential nominations after the nominations were done.

  1. So what is pf doing trying to stop the elections when the printing of Presidential ballots is complete? Too late pf, your chance has gone never to come back.

  2. Is Ngoma still around? I hope he is being shadowed everywhere he goes.

  3. finally 20th sep is jus round the corner its time to retire mc hes efforts to delay the elections have all gone to waste

  4. Is Namakando Mumembe also monitoring the printing of ballots or he is too ashamed of the transparency involved that he is busy sulking his a ss at home?

  5. Great News!!!
    MMD should intensfy campaign.
PF should also intensfy chasing accusations and court cases.
Then come 20th Sept (exactly 30 days from now) we vote.
Then on 21/22 we have a a president for the next 5 years.
Those who are not ready, it is their fault.
It appears those who were crying for elction day announcement were the ones not ready, I pity them.
It is time to see who the real leader is among the 10 candidates on the 20th Sept, 2011.
    Viva development,
    Viva more schools,
    Viva more hospitals and clinics,
    Viva more roads,
Viva more food and bumper harvest,
    Viva MMD!!!!!

  6. #13 Very true. We dont want pf cadres like Ngoma getting their filthy hands on them.

  7. gentlemen, PF want to rig the elections
They have tried to derail the election process but have failed.
God has stoped them from ill practices.
They sent Ngoma to get rigging material in form of a sample.
How do I know that PF sent Ngoma to get rigging material?
Lubinda was yesterday defending Ngoma, WHY?
Ngoma is NGO and not PF, people raise issues with Ngoma, but instead of PF being concerned too they start to defend Ngoma – Why?
What is Lubinda’s interest with Ngoma?
I expected Lubinda to show the same concern as everyone else over the stealing of the ballot paper by Ngoma, but instead Lubinda says Ngoma did not mean to use it for rigging.
    How did Lubinda know that?
Does Lubinda think on behalf of Ngoma?
    Is Lubinda Ngoma’s spokes person????
    Lubinda knows something!!!

    • It’s quite a shame to see people calling PF all sorts of names when serious issues are being raised up. One wonders how this government wishes to fight corruption and people like you are busy seeing this serious issue as a waste of time. If Zambia was fully of people like you one wonders where we would end at.

The MMD government can’t even listen to the issues being raised.

  8. How can a responsible government turn a deaf ear to a very serious issue which is of great concern right now? There is one thing that the MMD is not telling people. HOW IS IT GOING TO FIGHT CORRUPTION? Building roads and all that is being boasted about right now is not going to help us in the near future when government coffers will be left empty. MMD listen to the people and show them that you are listening government. But at the pace things are going right now some people are beginning to question MMD’s credibility.

  9. The intransigent MMD govt with its co-conspirators at ECZ & ACC have defied all the voices of reason and gone ahead with printing of ballots papers with UPG….WHY despite all the established corruption bribery & money laundering ?
Are they not just setting the stage for strife in the country? when are we ever going to learn from what has happened in other countries.
We love learning history but we don’t want to learn from history.
Ivory coast was once an oasis of peace but look at the country today?

  10. Ngoma has been discredited: He does not deny that he was not about to take the sample ballot out of the premises; he does not claim that he was framed; the ECZ says it had told everyone to leave the samples behind; Ngoma does not deny that these instructions were issued (to leave the ballots behind)…however, to cover up, the ECZ asked the media not to report the incident because it would embarrass them (that was Tuesday last week) , but one of the reporters refused to obey his/her hosts (ECZ) instructions. The story popped out of Durban. Now there are eggs on the ECZ and Ngoma’s faces! Ke! ke! ke! ke!….ha! ha! ha! ke! ke! ke! ….
