THE Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has postponed the poll date for the by-elections in Chongwe, Magoye and Nakonde parliamentary constituencies and thirty-five wards that were scheduled to be held on Thursday November 24 to Monday November 28.

According to a statement issued by ECZ public relations manager Cris Akufuna, the postponement has been necessitated by the grade 9 examinations which would be taking place on the 24th and 25th of November at the same venues for the by election.

“To this end, campaigns which were scheduled to end on 22nd November 2011 will go on until 26th November 2011 at 06:00hrs,” he said.

  1. Whoever sets these dates, may need to resit their grade 9 exams! You mean the whole govt/ECZ machinery did not know about the exams?

  2. Votes being rigged already. These chamba smokers had denounce upg and now they are using the same company to print ballots.

    • You MORON, so dull! The UPG were already paid for the same seats b4 elections except the unfortunate passing of the canditates. What economic sense does it make to print them elsewhere when UPG was already paid to print them b4 election? Think with your brain you MORON

  3. ma marubbish, i support #2 its really embarrasing for a BODY claiming national recognition to act foolishly like this, i wonder when Zambia, will have mature and intelligent pipo?

  4. The last paragraph doesn’t mean anything. It indicates that either something related to it has been left out or Akufuna said it in the wrong place of his statement.

  5. ECZ! Anyway the PF iz guaranteed at least two if not all of the three parliamentary seats in this by-election. I hope there are no more nullificationz, else the ruling party will dominate the august house.
