The United Party for National Development (UPND) in Sinazongwe is carrying out ground work campaigns to beat their contestants in the Presidential by election.
Sinazongwe District Vice Chairperson Bernad Kalata said the party was ready for elections and thanked the Acting President Rupiah Banda for announcing the elections early.
Mr. Kalata boaster that the presidential by election contest in the district was between Acting President Rupiah Banda and Hakainde Hichilema because the Patriotic Front (PF) party and Heritage party were non-existent in the district.
He said Hichilema was the only person with the calibre to rule Zambia and appealed for electorates to vote for him.
UPND District Secretary Peter Siavuulwe said the party would start with the intensification of the door-to-door campaigns.
“Here we are not worried. Even when elections were conducted today we will carry the day at the district level,” Mr Siavuulwe said.
And the Acting President Rupiah Banda will visit Sinazongwe District in Southern Province on Monday.
Sinazongwe District Commissioner Mungoni Simulilika confirmed the development to ZANIS that the Acting President would touch down at the Maamba Tonwnship’s golf Club at 07:30.
Mr. Simulilika said Mr Banda is expected to meet the chiefs in Sinazongwe District and hold a meeting with the Sinazongwe business community.
He said the president was also expected to hold a rally at Maamba’s Kanzize stadium before his departure to Choma at 12:30.
Meanwhile the Movement for Multi-party Democracy (MMD) in Sinazongwe has welcomed the Acting president’s visit to the district.
Sinazongwe District Constituency Chairperson, Simoni Chali, said Mr. Banda’s visit was a blessing to the Sinazongwe people.
“He will definitely get a 90 per cent vote here,” Mr. Chali said.

#13,your analysis is close to reality.The fact is that HH is leading in 4 Provinces & will come out # 2 in 2 or 3 Provinces.
No 9 and 23 are real dreamers. Hakainde cannot carry Western Province. That is most certainly ULP and MMD country. In the last contest in Western Province just in June this year, UPND came up a weak last place behind UNIP, PF, ULP and the winners MMD. In the face of such evidence how do you claim that UPND can carry Western. It is vbecause you refuse to objectively look at reality that your loss will be so painfull.
HH cannot get any significant votes in Copperbelt Province. Have you forgotten the last Parliamentary by election results? Unfortunately for HH the tribal tag has stuck and will be the albatros arround his neck.
NEWS.VJ is being sidelined by RB’s campaign team & has officialy wrote to RB to register his displeasure & withdrew his presence in RB’s campaign team.
HH did not get 85% of Southern Province last time round. On the evidence of recent by elections this year in Siavonga and Kazungula which were both lost by UPND, MMD is making serious inroads in Southern Province. Even the Chiefs have endorsed MMD in Southern Province. Truly objective minds can see that HH is headed for a very tight race in Southern Province. The evidence is there for all to see.
North western is going to be for RB and MMD. It is for this reason that the majority of the seats are held by MMD and they won the province last time round. Even the UPND vice president was soundly beaten in Northwestern Province. Again I cannot understand the wishfull thinking of the UPND. The only District they may carry is Zambezi. Even Mwinilunga this time round will be for MMD. Get real and stop wishfull thinking.

A government made up of poeple from different tribes who have a programme for the country decide who the money they collect from you would be used during the tenure in office.
