Egypt’s Ismaili club beats Green Buffaloes 1-0

Green buffaloes Football Club (GBFC)today lost 1-0 in the second encounter of CAF Confederation cup with the Ismaili of egypt at Lusaka’s Independence stadium.

Green buffaloes lost 2-1 in the first encounter played in egypt making Green Buffaloes unable to qualify for the preliminaries.

GBFC Coach george lwandamina said its unfortunate that the team could not utilise the chances they had during the match.

Green buffaloes scored first through Sebastian Mwansa in the first half.

Mr. Lwandamina said the boys put up a gallant match saying they did not want to lose the game.

He noted that the boys did not relax during the game adding that it is not automatic that a striker can utilise any given chance to score in a game.

He however assured the fans that he will not relent in building a much stronger team to compete favourably in matches of international standards such as the one witnessed today.

And Ismaili Coach, Patrice Neveu said his team was defending the game in the first half saying it is gratifying that they managed to equalise in the second half by scoring a goal which saw Green buffaloes go down 1-0.

Mr neveu said green buffaloes is a strong opponent adding that the score line was very tricky although they managed to win.

Ismaili scored a winning goal through Mohamed Abdulla in the second half.

  1. The heading is misleading.Ismaili Club did not beat Green Buffaloes 1-0. Today’s match ended 1-1. Taking into account the first leg in which Ismaili beat Buffaloes 2-1; the result of today’s match is that Ismaili have beaten Buffaloes 3-2 on goal aggregate.
