Representatives of the four presidential candidates have resolved the impasse surrounding the 600 thousand excess presidential ballot papers.

The political parties have resolved that the extra presidential ballot papers be transported to all the nine provinces of Zambia.

However, they have agreed that the ballot papers should not be taken to polling stations but be kept in safe places in districts.

Patriotic Front Vice President, Guy Scott, says in the event that extra ballots are needed at a particular polling station, those kept at the district level will be taken to the affected station.

Just look at UPND’s Kahenya, very young and deserving to be in Ministerial Position in accordance to the 55 years retirement age for Civil servants. PF’s Guy Scott and MMD’s Aka look like people deserving rest at some remote areas as they look after grand chidren who come home for holidays.
UPND’s HH supporters, just hand in there and continue with the door-to-door campaigns. I assure you that the BEST IS YET TO COME. This result will be noted on November 4th, 2008 when the Incoming President to-be HH will take centre stage.
Viva HH for Zambian President, G Lubinda for Zambian Veep and Sata for PM.

I suspect that at all costs Hon. Sata will not win. I am positive that MMD, Chiluba and HH will do the needful in the near future to scare all PF sympathisers very soon.

  11. Chiluba did it in 2006, infact even in 2001. And he highlighted that he will make mention as to who is his (Chiluba’s) prefered candidate in this election.
Zambia Forward, in tune with the Nation. Meanwhile, the news coming from CB University is that HH has taken the campus by a serious storm in support. Kitwe is still highly PF’s Sata but HH is coming and in 2 weeks the takes will surelyu be turned around. Also, RBB will make sure Northen and Luapula Province gives him more votes than Sata and this will lead to HH making it to Plot 1 most likely.

  12. As for the ballots, I wish all political parties will monitor them 24 hours service to ensure that the MMD-GRZ does not take them to places that might change the overall election result at a go.
Best wishes to all the Presidential aspirants, especially the man of the moment – HH.

Yaba, ZAZA again. First it was Maron Zaza on President Mwanawasa and now it is John Zaza on ballot papers to Kalabo.
    Zambians, wake up.

  14. IF 60 PER CENT (7000 OF 20000) VOTERS SHUNNED MPIKA ELECTIONS THEN LUSAKA AND CB WILL BE WORSE BASING ON A SEARCH FOR LIVELIHOOD. ALREADY I AM NOT VOTING. SO LETS US NOT CHEAT OURSELVES THAT SO SO WILL WIN. ITS A TRICKY SITUATION UNLESS VOTING IS FLEXIBLE. some people will be across the country trading.

  15. Eaxtra 600,000 ballot papers only step to rigging venue. Firstly, ballot papers managed to get to Lusaka even if this was disputed. Secondly, ballot papers get to Districts following some more dispute. The next is to get the extra ballots to polling station. Thereafter, these extra 600,000 ballot papers will be cast in the ballot boxes. IT MUST BE UNDERSTOOD THAT RIGGING IS A DYNAMIC SCIENCE AND CAN CHANGE FORM.

  16. Let us ve extra ballot papers kept in lsk bcoz any emergency helicopters are there to be used in any part of zambia. With these bootlickers citizens who are bribed by a chitenge materials dont trust anyone.Sata has latest helicopter make.It was sadauni sadaka in mansa.

  21. People of God have you heard the latest development? last nite on muvi tv news a GRZ vehicle was caught leaving the airport with an office desk full of ballot papers meant for southern province in the drawers!!! when the driver was questioned he said he had been told to pick up the desk and a printer which turned out to be a box of ballot papers. This makes you wonder how many ballot papers have already gone missing!!!!

  22. The MMD are thieves. Yesterday they were caught at the airport while trying to ferry 5000 ballot papers to Kalabo in a GRZ TOYOTA GX. Danny Kalale should be crucified for this He coudn’t answer anything about this when he was question.

MUVI TV please keep us informed. Don’t be like ZNBC who are used to hiding the truth.

  23. he was caught by PF and UPND cadres who were standing guard at the ecz ware house they alerted airport officials. The ECZ PR director was also speech less!!!

  24. those extra b/papers must not even leave lusaka. sorry i still smell a rat here. is it why our friends are so confindent of winning.

  25. Its a lapse on the opposition leaders to agree to transport the extra ballots country wide.

Do they have the capacity to monitor the ballots in the 72 districts. In fact 600 pin extras are more than enough to be used to against the opposition.

Can the opposition reconsider thier decision and have them destroyed immediately.

  26. no new registration of voters has been done so why have extra ballot papers? some pipo have since died but ECZ still insists on extras??? some thing fish this give a picture that the ECZ and MMD have been working hand in hand in the previous elections

  27. MMD RIGGING REAL

Yesterday for the very few who didnt hear a vehicle was spotted with Ballot papers. This vehicle was allegedly supposed to have transported some printer and equipment to Kalabo as suggested by the Electoral Commission but before the driver could leave who was driving a GRZ was cought and found with Ballot papers. Firstly the vehicle that was transporting the Papers was not an electoral commission vehicle It was a GRZ vehicle the question why ,coz ECZ has vehicles for all the constituencies, Secondly how possible was it for the Ballot papers to sneck the tight security and get to the Kalabo vehicle. As someone who has done abit of Forensics and Auditing i would conclud

  28. i would conclude that it is very possible that a sample of the papers was sent to another firm which printed similar pattern of Ballot papers otherwise they should consider the serial numbers of the Papers and reconcille them with those that are at the AIRPORT. IF TWO SETS ARE FOUND then we have a duplication. IF THEY ARE NOT IN THE SEQUENCY and have their own set of sequency then we shall conclude that they have another set.

I dont agree that these elections will be free and fair

  29. Am not comfortable with the extras being ferried to the various districts. With what is already obtaining on ground. How can someone honestly mistake ballot papers for a printer? Let the extra be burned to avoid any confusion. Pabwatooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!

  30. Whats the need for xtra ballot papers – the people of Zambia need to know too. Not just that the issue has been resolved; who and what did they resolve?

  31. Whats the need for xtra ballot papers – the people of Zambia need to know too. Not just that the issue has been resolved; with who and what did they resolve?

  32. c’mon pipo dont let these guys take us for a ride.some of you scolded mazoka and sata for appealling against election results, now its out in the open. lets make suggestions rite here on this forum on how best we will handle this, avoiding violence of course. and pliz for once take me seriously,am not swearing for a change……this is a serious matter. shetani, ba ponyax, spectator, all my mates……..

  33. # 50. Agree with your analysis. There are too many criminals around the whole thing fighting for power. Now even ballot papers being found in drawers.

  34. How true is this

Former Zambian president Dr.Kenneth David Kaunda, who turned 81 in April is involved in a love triangle with a Zambian divorcee, thirty years his junior, by the name of Sally Kamanga. Sally who lives in Lusaka and is a well know Business woman and socialite has been Dr.Kaunda’s soul mate for more than five years.

The post news paper got this story but did not investigate or print it because
of the intervention of its editor Fred Meembe. However this affair is common knowledge in Lusaka circles. The couple is always together in Johannesburg where Dr.Kaunda spends a lot of his time. To avoid been spotted together the couple travel to Johannesburg
    separately

  35. Confusion erupted at Lusaka International Airport shed where the remaining ballot papers are kept after a government vehicle was spotted ferrying ballot papers for Kalabo Constituency. The vehicle, a Toyota Prado, registration number GRZ 841-CA was spotted this afternoon. Apparently the vehicle was supposed to ferry a printer and a table for Kalabo constituency but opposition political party representatives allegedly made the discovery of the ballot papers.
In an interview with MUVI TV News driver of the vehicle John Zaza claimed that he was not aware that there were ballot papers in the drawer of the table.

  36. Continue

And Electoral Commission of Zambia Deputy Director Priscilla Isaacs says it was a mistake for the ballot papers to have been found in a government vehicle. Ms. Isaacs has called for calm over the matter.

  37. Whats wrong with ECZ? how were the ballot papers found in this vehicle does it mean there no security for one to get the ballot papers? and who authorized the man to carry the ballot papers if not ECZ? The ECZ are not doing a good job can they please let the people choose who to rule, we do want MMD and thats it any other party yes but not MMD.

  38. The MMD have started steeling ballot papers and the ECZ are just watching doing it, this what you free and fair ellection. I wonder what packges were delivered to ECZ? for them to behave in such a way. shame on ECZ

  39. people you have been brain-washed. please burn those extra ballot paper, there is no need of taking them to the provinces. you are promoting rigging. can we have free and fare elections for a change.

  40. I wouldn’t want to convince myself that these elections will be rigged. But with yesterdays happenings, I doubt the fairness of these elections. The ballot papers are guarded 24/7, so how did those particular ballots find their way into the drawres enroute to Kalobo? Just saying it was a mistake is not good enough. How many of such mistakes have happened unnoticed and how many are bound to happen. To be very honest the printing of the extra ballots was not necessary. How many pipo voted in 2006, less than 3million. So why didn’t we just print 3m or 3.5m ballots, why print 4.5m? It just doesn’t make sense. I don’t even understand why the parties have agreed to move the extras to districts.

  41. Am back,I have been busy campaigning. Believe it or not, the young man HH is winning. All you got to do is quick math. I dont have enough time to give you a break down by i will surely do that before the end of today. Now and Forever its PAKWANJA CHABE. HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH for President

  42. Has any1 given a reason 4 soooo many ballot papers being printed in the 1st place- i mean hey ppl die but i mean its 600,000!!!! c’mon, i know theres aids, malaria and w@ not but 600,000 in 2years!!!!

  43. I told you people, those ballot papers are mine. I just brought them so that my grandchildren could make paper planes that all. I need them back before 30th Oct.

  44. Is that how Aka looks now,i think he’s trully job seeking, that suit bwana that suit,it’s not his size & the type itself is,oh no!
I was reading that after close of voting, ballots are still not being counted at the individual polling stations but being transported to a district office or something,i think it is during this transportation process that the MMD manages to play around with results or do all the monitors accompany the vehicles carrying ballot boxes? It is still not a secure method.

  45. I propose that the polling stations are closed from 17 hours till the counting starts. Me and my friends want to offer prayers over the ballot boxes.

  46. Why wud u need an excess of 600,000, thats just too much really. Well they say they are keeping the excess 4 any eventualities but i mean wat are the odds that 600,000 ballot papers will need replacing- wat cud possibly happen 2 all those- that wud b grave carelessness on the part of the provincial district ppl 2 lose so many ballot papers all at once. But then again mayb a Radio Phoenix fire will break out, seeing as those r so normal these days….

  47. #71. afrofusion.proboards
Good observation man. Doesn’t that suit look like the one which Sikatana lost a few years ago? I heard he never found it.

  48. People lets be united and vote wisely. If MMD wins this election we need to be united in a non-violent manner and protest because we have seen and heard clearly that MMD will rig these elections. My opinion is they will win.I support PF but with the upper hand that the ruling Govt has they do have a sure win.Lets put our heads together and do something about it without violence and sort them out.

  51. PF & UPND chaps, I hope this brings the issue of vote rigging to rest! You have just scooped Kanchibiya by-elections & I don’t haer any complaints of rigging!? You blokes only seem to cry foul when you LOSE(which you will come Oct30, mark my words!). You have done RB a huge favour by splitting your votes.

  52. #80 do you watch TV what happened yesderday at the airport? Be serious with your life, these pipo (MMD) are fond of rigging so there should be need to block them. Good job opposition representatives. Balazo mwalibekata

  53. Ba Osama katwishi shikulu bantu ekwali lelo. All I know is I’m upset with the ballot paper issue bushe what do we do kanshi???

  54. #85 you are right on top of that they even start reducing prices to woo voters.I suppose that may be the “image improvers” doing they’re job

  55. eh, am now married ka? anyway i asked the same question. i dont know what the constitution says about such issues.can someone pliz tell me?

  56. My sweet Osama you may be the last one to know that nimwe ba mwine!Constitution or no constitution, election have already been rigged, you think if you are head of the house and your daughters are prostitues it will stop you from maintaining ka my nini pa side while my guru is at home. You will preach morality to your daughters, but your teachings will not stop your miscillaneous activities.Like you slept out the other day remeber?

  65. When are the would-be first ladies addressing the National on National Television and/or Radio?
We need to know how many first ladies will be in State House under each of the Presidential Candidates for October 30th 2008 elections.
Meanwhile, we have been waiting for Sata’s CV, LT, for a long time now. Please, give us Brig. Gene. Miyanda’s CV too when you post Sata’s.
Sata is 1st Generation UNIP as well as RBB. Sata is 1st generation MMD under Chilube while RBB is 2nd generation MMD under late LPM. Only HH has not been a political dancer to where it is happening at a particular one time. Vote the UPND’s HH for Integrity and mature leadership. Vote for HH for economic independence.

  66. Transparency is the word. Provided every ballot paper can be accounted for, then there is no problem. It becomes a problem to start these things without consultation only to reveal them later.

600 000 extra, that was too much. Whether it was the same cost printing with or without the 600 000 extra knowing how silly printing costing s, I still think they should have consulted before deciding on the figure.

  67. #100, Nchimunya, you have raised a nice issue, but consider the fact that Kaponyas also normally cut pala – potato cut. So to appear responsible and respectiful, HH and Kahenya need a bit of hair to that they command respect in society.
Have you ever seen nice-looking President world-over in a potato cuts or anything befitting terrible caHARACTER LIKE THE CALL-BOYS AT Kulima Tower who were hired by Sata to beat up UNZA students when Sata was Chiluba’s right hand man in their (Chiluba and Sata) third term bid.
Infact, Sata becoming Zambian President is simply Chiluba’s third term of CORRUPTION and LOOTING Zambia’s economic gains under late LPM.

  68. These PF kaponyas on this site are disgusting just like their SATAna…..Mr 90 days. How can any sober, educated and analytical mind support such a flip flop.

The good news is everthing has already been sorted out nicely…RB is Awina kudala

    Viva RB

  69. No opposition we are digging our own grave by allowing these guys to keep extra ballot papers.Whatmore with intentional mistakes we saw on muvi tv news yesterday, keeping these things things will definately bring us problems because the resolutions which were arrived at yesterday are not good. The next thing we will be told thieves had broken into where the ballots are being kept or the`ve been gutted by fire etc and police will be investigating as usual while a rigged presdent will be sworn ninshi capwa finish.Just destroy the nonsence you`re calling extra ballot -Ba PF let`s be careful bena Scot can agree ifyabupuba…PF Octber,30 2008.

  70. On the ballot in the GRZ vehicle saga – have you considered that this could possibly be the work of persons with opposition leaning who, knowing very well that if the stash was discovered, the obvious conclusion would be MMD is attempting to rig? After all even civil servants have an opinion on who should lead although they should not be seen to be partisan. Consider this, why interview the driver alone, why not with the person(s) who gave him the consignment to deliver so the truth could be arrived at? That is a one sided story. Muvi TV should finish this story. Abena Zambia mula concluda.

  71. VIVA RB. Sata is like a prostitute he opens his mouth to everybody and at everithing. no clear agenda and no new ideas. always playing the blame game and always crying foul when he loses such is the old scruff bag leading the FP.

on the other hand i would like to salute HH. he seems to be more proffesional but his too inexpereinced this time. but defo in 2011 am behind this guy.

  72. Ok let Mr mateyo take it up.This is very serious u pipo.I agree #122 it could be anyone involved what a mistake.Even the electoral commission should investigate and tell us what clearly trasnpired here not what Pricilla said, vague explanation.Fikabipa one day muno…learn to explain things in details Pricilla you will fail to run away from these “mistakes” you think they are ok.Remember once upon there was a “powerfull” Richard Sakala but what is happening now?Take aleaf from this for your own well being in future.Naya ine.

  76. Rigging has already taken full effect..I dont understand how Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) Deputy Director Priscilla Isaacs express ignorance on the ballot papers found with John Zaza headed for Kalabo …How on earth does ECZ express ignorance?..What a load of rubbish from our electoral system…Dan Kalale and his crew need to be locked up!!!….VERY DISGUSTING!!!

  77. Why are people throwing tantrums over these ballots. Do you remember that these same airport premises were full of antognostic cadres from all over verifying ballots ad sitting on these same desks. It is not far to suggest that these same unruly cadres planted the ballots in the desk where they were sitting just to discredit ECZ.

  78. Continue playing with people’s votes. KIBAKI thought the same in the last KENYAN elections but what happened. There is no weapon that is more dangerous than the one perceived to be INACTIVE or DOCILE…because the day it will be used it will surely FIRE in arrears. Be warned Zambia will not be a safe and good place if the elections are rigged. Instability will rein right from down South to up North and we will see whether RB and mates will enjoy their rule. Mark my words I have met several people from different parties echoing my remarks above.

  79. Please #133, do not wish ill of the Zambian electrol process from outside the country. If MMD wins, it will be because the opposition tossed out their best chance of ousting the government through the ballot by collaborating.

The opposition has trained agents as well and independent observers are available in all the polling districts to ensure that rigging does not take place. How will a polling district of say 25,000 voters suddenly issue results of an electorate above that figure? Think,Zambia.

  82. UPND to build University
UPND Presidential candidate, Hakainde Hichilema, has promised to construct a university in Kasama district once elected as Republican President.

Mr. Hichilema say’s Northern Province was vast and as such, it deserved a University to cater for the growing number of pupils completing their secondary education in the area.

He told ZANIS in an interview that the move would further help to decongest the three public Universities in the country.

Mr. Hichilema also said his party values education as it was key to Zambia’s sustainable development.

The UPND leader is currently on a campaign trail aimed to woo voters ahead of the October 30 presidential election.
