FRA in Isoka using classroom to store maize

Share

School lessons at Kafwibi Basic School in Isoka district have been disrupted because the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) in the area has resorted to using some classrooms at the school to store maize bought from farmers in the area.

Northern Province Education Officer Selisho Chanda has since directed FRA to remove the bags of maize from the school and take them to designated maize sheds.

Mr. Chanda lamented that the move by FRA was not welcome and was done without the knowledge of his office.

This came to light today when Mr. Chanda visited Kafwibi Basic School to inspect the site where a 1 x 3 classroom block would be constructed at the school.

Efforts are underway to expand the Basic School in a bid to increase enrollment at the school.

Maize should be stored in proper sheds. It is time each village, town and province had their own Siloses.
Mr CEO, this might be the first point of education you need to exert in the locals and the government.
