Reality continues to dawn on the Patriotic Front-PF- led Government following admission that its 90 days national problems formula was mere day-dreaming.
This came to light when Evelyn Hone College Students jeered and booed Minister of Education, Science, Vocational Training and Early Education Dr. John Phiri for admitting that government has no capacity to attend to their demands in the short term.
Dr. Phiri told the students that some of their demands leading to the protest were not budgeted for in this year’s budget. The students at the institution have been protesting over poor sanitary conditions and lack of adequate transport.
Mr. Phiri had a tough time to convince the protesting students to return to class.
And Police have sealed off Evelyn Hone College in Lusaka to stop further protests by students. The students at the institution rioted on Tuesday night and Police will continue to keep vigil thereby stopping students from leaving the institution to damage public and private property.
Lusaka Province Police Commissioner Charity Katanga says officers have been mobilized and are keeping vigil at the college, which on church road. Ms. Katanga has assured motorists and the general public that there are enough officers on the ground to contain any situation that may arise.

She called on the students who protested this morning over poor sanitary conditions to exhaust available channels before taking to the streets. Ms. Katanga said this in a telephone interview with ZNBC News in Lusaka on Wednesday.
She says the tendency by students in higher learning institutions to go to the streets each time they were aggrieved is unfortunate.
Meanwhile, University of Zambia Lecturers and Researchers’ Union-UNZALARU and the University Council have convened a meeting to resolve their standoff over staff salaries. This follows a directive by Education Minister John Phiri who wants to have differences over conditions of service quickly resolved.
UNZALARU General Secretary Jason Mwanza confirmed this in an interview with ZNBC news in Lusaka on Wednesday. Mr Mwanza however, vowed that his members will not release students’ examination results until staff salaries are harmonized.
Earlier, Dr Phiri has met UNZA authorities and the Union representatives who he directed to convene a meeting over the matter. UNZALARU members want staff salary discrepancies in the three public Universities to be harmonized.
And Professional Teachers’ Union of Zambia has called on the University of Zambia-UNZA council and the students body to consider dialogue as an appropriate way of resolving issues affecting the high learning institution.
PTUZ General Secretary Kangwa Musenge says the great east road campus must re-open without any further delay.

Hahahaha I agree i bet it wouldnt pass an mot bet even the presidential fleet would pass an motÂ
Which one? Scotland?
let the sokol boys be in power
This nolstagically reminds me of the 90s when MMD just came in power, I was only 19 then at Evelyn Hone and Aka was our Minister balitukwapula ba police! But later when I was at UNZA as “soft mature” late LPM SC had jst come in power, ninshinatukulako, tulebomba, just wanting to complete and go get the promotion. Its normal expectations are high when a new party comes into power especially abaiche, ilya 90 days was just campaign gimmick, lets give them some more 2 years or so am sure things will eventually be better, atleast than they could have been had Alabi continued. GOD BLESS ZAMBIA!
You must have been at Evelyn hone the same time I was there. Late Bright Mwape was Union President right? I remember Akashambatwa was stoned by students.
i need blood now or else youdie yourself
## 3. PhD Mushota!
I missed you, welcome back to blogers world!
Koma china bokosi cha ka green t-shirt!
#7, are you sure you are seeing clearly?
The Police Officer is speaking off key. Exhaust all channels before taking to the street? Is that licence then for the students to go to the streets? It is not for you to advise about channels, unless the police is one such channel. Yours is to keep peace and order in the country. Don’t join student politics.
Gundix, I also understood that to mean they can take to the streets after exhausting all the channels. Then again, maybe they did exhaust all the available channels and they’re now doing what the Police boss is advising.
Boma ni Boma, no number plate on the police car!Â
Zambia, now I know I was right to leave!
Is that a riot police vehicle? No wire mesh over the windows and its a stoneage vehicle. When it comes to a serious riot just a few rocks thrown at it and the vehicle is history.
Zambian authorities are full of crap, what kind of police car is that? Do they just accept anything as long as its a gift, no standards at all. Back to the real issue, PF has no set policy on education and thats why Sata shouted at the Philosopher during the Q&A in England when he was asked what PF has set up for research at Zambian universities, he could not provide an answer and his minister refered the Doctor to the party manifesto. SHAME!!!!
Wish Zambia can be under British colony again.
Don’t worry guys, colonialism is coming back…HE IS NOT FAR AWAY. PF’s policy is conducive for foreign ruleÂ
#3 Mushota, i agree with you about the police car. it does not even have a number plate.
Evelyn Welfare Center
me am a kind of a person who can incite others while am enjoying my study!
go on boys and girls will see who ‘ll suffer in the end!
Tuleteka bane tekanyenifye
About the police vehicle, not only no number plates but even the right break lights don’t work! I think someone must give the driver a fine.
What are these guys complaining about? Arent these the same f.ools who were dancing in the nude last sept? Ukwa Chimbwi no plan is not a problem, the problem lies with people who believe/believed that he would bring any meaningful and positive changes to Zambia.Â
I wish Sata would be courageous enough to apologise to the Zambians about the 90days, his campaigning hinged on meeting the national aspiration in 90days period.but failed.
well its douche kubeba i guess
Agony is having a higher institution of learning right next to a main police station! On a serious note, I do not understand what those who are bestowed with various responsibilities in govt. actually do. There is general cleanliness which the students themselves can contribute to maintaining, but the structural decay of these institutions is appalling. The buildings are falling apart, the sewerge and water systems ceased to work in the normal sense of things e.t.c. where are the billions that the govt. collects everyday in personal, corporate tax, customs, e.t.c? In fact I understand these amounts, especially through the ZRA have increased considerably over the years. Is it priorities, mismangement, lack of know how, appreciation of quality education as investment, or what?
well its douche kubeba i guess. once fooled by people get very angry.Â
POLICE VEHICLE
1. NO NUMBER PLATE
2. LEFT BREAK RIGHT NOT WORKING
3 .LEFT REAR TYRE OWN OUT
2. Left brake light.
3.Left rear tyre worn out.
Bane chizungu..ma spelling sima zero che mwenze kutenga ku sukulu.
no number plate and left break right not working
‘left break right’? Or ‘left brake light’? Bane chizungu. Ma spelling sima zero che mwenze kutenga ku sukulu to borrow from Chikaipa Bweza.
when i think of PF/MCS look at his policies, his local and international friends and conduct, i think of zimbabwe and how glad they are slowly going to over take us
we are yet to see the waste if we continue believing in dont kubeba thoery
All GRZ vehicles except those driven by ministers and sonsonso are not in road worthy condition. The police vehicle in the pic must be a sunka mulamu
If Evelyn Hone College was in a proper country it would have been closed by now. The institution is a health hazard. In a failed state like Zambia where street vendors use containers as toilets, the situation at EHC is normal. The PF lies are now catching up with their manufacturers. Next time think before you vote.
## 31… Do you mean to say that, this great institution of learning has only gotten worse in the last 10 months of the PF  leadership??
 Innate hatred for PF ka!!!
cry my beloved country
The “90 DAYZ” of then oppozition Sata and the PF iz like a proverb, you translate it literally at your own peril. With or without the “90 DAYZ”, time had come for the MMD to go. Didn’t Obama say “YES WE CAN”?
@Mr. Tembo. Couldn’t agree with you more! Especially having lectured at this institution in the 90’s. These problems have been there for such a long time and to rectify them is no easy task that can be done in a few months if not years! Free advice to Ministry involved: Please revisit the role of Management Boards in these institutions. Despite the members of these Boards being prominent/successful members of the business community, they clearly have no strategy to make these institutions better.
90 days is going to be a noose around the neck of pf. It was 90 days that brought them into power and they have to be made accountable for failure to deliver in those 90 days. They thought that people would simply forget about the promises they made and Ukwa no plan would just enjoy creating new districts every now and then without any budgetary restrictions. The ‘man of action’ thought that running a country would be as easy as impregnating the Bishop Mpundu’s sisters!
36 Chikala chobe, you should have respect
37 Respect for what or whom? Ukwa the serial adulterer, liar, tribalist, breaker of promises, violent thug, ignorant dunderhead, undiplomatic buffoon, testicleless? If that is the kind of person you respect ni malaki yako. Some of us have some integrity.
The problem with institutions under the former MSTVT such as Horne, NORTEC, LBTC, ZASTI & all Trades schools is the management boards which are running them. The current govt. shud just swallow their pride & reverse the mistake commited by their predecessors of making board to run them. They must do that as quickly as possible otherwise these institutions will very soon go the dogs
IFE YATU IMAYENDA ILIBE NAMATAYELA.
the youths were duped ..the 90 days is for kaponyas now..hahaha
So much dust in a country that has been independent for close to 50 years!
give the youths their demands..wapya munzi..
I wonder why some bloggers still want to protect CNP’s fake promises. He said plainly neither was it in riddles. PF will bring change within 90 days. Change indeed, no fuel, higher institutions closing every day. Bullshit!!!
Bana basuku nabo bakazinya bwino, there is no sense of cleanliness in these students!doti is too much pa zed.
His Excellency Ukwa CNP # 8
you REALLY CRACKED MY RIBS…
SURELY THAT’S WHAT YOU COULD SEE OUT OF ALL THE CONFUSION IN THAT PICTURE??
Hello there! Your write-up rocks also as becoming a legitimate fantastic realize!??
