OYDC to engage expatriate coaches to train athletes

The Olympic Youth Development Centre (OYDC) Director Clement Chileshe says his institute will engage expatriate athletic coaches to be assisting local trainers to train young athletes at the centre in various sport disciplines is on-going.

OYDC Director Clement Chileshe said that OYDC has since drawn a budget line for the same programme to help continue spearheading the programme.

He told ZANIS sports in an interview in Lusaka today that OYDC would soon announce the estimated total cost budget.Mr.Chileshe said that OYDC was working with other partners concerning the same adding that people should be patient with the centre.

He pointed out that OYDC wants to ensure local trainers gain the required skills of training young athletes at the centre and that his organization believes that there are a lot of young people with potential and great talent that needs to be exposed.

Chileshe further noted that OYDC has since observed that the country lacked highly trained trainers who can offer all the necessary skills training to the young people.

He stressed that his organization is this year targeting to help improve sport in the country by all means possible and to motivate different athletes strategically in selected sport disciplines.
