NAREP has learnt with deep sadness of the accident that happened at the Kavalamanja area in Luangwa area on Sunday evening involving some members of the United Party for National Development (UPND) campaign team. Reports indicate that nine people have lost their lives while a number are seriously injured. Our deepest condolences go to the leadership of the UPND and the families that have lost their loved ones, we also pray for the recovery of those that have been injured in this accident.
[pullquote]the Patriotic Front should be ashamed that their main focus has now shifted to amassing numbers in Parliament at the expense of the millions of Zambians who cannot put food on the table[/pullquote]
This continuous loss of lives on our roads is very unfortunate. Any loss of life is painful; however this particular case is more disheartening as it has been caused by the unnecessary by election in Feira. This by election has caused multitudes of cadres from different political parties to gather in Luangwa. This coupled with the poor state of our road infrastructure is a recipe for disaster.
We urge the PF administration to examine their conscience and ask them themselves what really matters to the people of Zambia. As a party that came into power based on the promises it made to people, the Patriotic Front should be ashamed that their main focus has now shifted to amassing numbers in Parliament at the expense of the millions of Zambians who cannot put food on the table.
May the souls of the departed rest in peace.
Rev. Jevan Kamanga
NATIONAL SECRETARY
All this could have been avoided! and the nation might lose more lives… with 18000 people on kilwa island starving to death while money being sent on stupi.d bye-elections amidist a budget overrun….
And someone is enjoying his holiday in japan “ watching`electric trains and playing games on some ipod…hahahahahahahahah
Do you know whats wrong with us blacks, its greediness.
That’s very true, you will be surprised that even in the diaspora we behave the same.
By-Elections have not caused the deaths. A road traffic accident is what caused the death of 9 people and left the other people injured. The accident happened when the driver lost control of the vehicle he was driving.
A straight forward reason. NAREP should not mislead people or use tragedy to their own selfish advantage.
Reason and learning must not be abused.
Iwe, use your logic, do you think that the driver would have been driving at the time of the accident had it not been for the by-election? and the people who were involved in the accident were in that Canter to campaign. If the useless MP stayed will MMD, those people would have been alive.
The reality is that the opposition also have much to answer for. If they can learn to co-operate with government instead of opposing everything there would be fewer by-elections. Number two it is not MCS that made them drive.
The proximate cause of the death of 9 UPND party cadres in one road accident, in the same vehicle is the the bye-election. Without this election, perhaps there would have been an accident; but not involving the whole lot of party cadres from one party.
I am failing to understand. This driver did he start his driving career because of bye elections? The UPND did they go to Feira by force? Were is the connection with the PF here?
So if there is a party football match in Ndola like there will be these coming weekends and I decide to travel ( I can watch on TV if I want) and then I get involved in an accident will the Zambian Dog watch say more evil happenings? It is my fuking choice you fuking dogs.
There is too much childish behaviour among the opposition that they blame the PF even for a mad man exuming a baby’s body and cooks it. We will vote, we will vote but not for under fives.
Avoid insults. That’s part of violence. You sound very bitter. You can easily be recruited as a militia.
Tthe PF dont care about people’s welfare,as lomg as they capture an additional Parliamentary seat
These opposition are really under 5s . If you say PF has lost support of people coz of the removal of subsidies, then its you chance you opposition to scoop the faira seat. However, since you know that you are just under 5s who cant match up with the PF , you resort to crying and insipid accusations against the PF…Malabishi you the opposition.
Peace and Prosperity to Mother Zambia.
mulichipuba ba Narep .What kind of stupid reasoning is this. Chipimo a young man ,Zambia has no future.Bad roads and bad driving caused the accident mwembwa imwe
This was a road accident and nothing else! These imbeciles like Kamanga want to blame the govt for every accident which happens as if the drivers or vehicles belong to PF!. The people should shoulder the blame for over speeding and not maintaining their vehicles. This culture of identifying people by their political parties they belong to is dangerous and should come to an end. Zambians are Zambians, tribes, political affiliations and religious beliefs should not be used in any way as an identification method to describe certain sections of people in our society, it is tantamount to segregation! Imagine going for interviews and they ask you which political party do you belong to or what tribe are you?
Driving under influence (DUI) laws should be tightened and jail sentences introduced!
Please stop blaming traffic accidents on PF or Satan or whatever. This is the 21st century, accidents have physical causes!
THE ACCIDENT WAS CAUSED EITHER BY THE BUS DRIVER OR ANOTHER DRIVER OR WHOEVER IT WAS AND NOT A BY ELECTION. THER ARE ACCIDENTS MET SOMETIMES WHEN PARENT/GUARDIANS ARE OUT LOOKING FOR FOOD TO FEED THEIR DEPENDENTS- WHAT CAN YOU SAY ABOUT THAT. OR WOULD IT BE FARE TO SAY THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED TO AVOID UPND CADRES KILLING INNOCENT PEOPLE AT THE ELECTIONS AS ITS THEIR HABBIT?
