Four suspended Patriotic Front officials in Kasama District have totally rejected their suspension from the ruling party.

Acting Patriotic Front Kasama District Chairman Caleb Monta says the purported suspension by the provincial executive Committee on allegations of indiscipline was illegal.

Speaking during a media briefing in Kasama yesterday, Mr. Monta charged that the provincial leadership erred in suspending him and other party officials without making wide consultations.

He observed that there was nothing wrong in party members endorsing President Michael Sata as the ruling party’s sole presidential candidate in the 2016 general election.

Mr. Monta dismissed as false the allegations leveled against him and other party officials that they were inciting other party members to rise against the Provincial Executive Committee.

He said he will continue to perform duties as PF District Chairman and urged party members to disregard the reported suspension of him and other party officials in the area.

Mr. Monta further cautioned the provincial leadership to stop being used by some selfish individuals to bring disunity in the ruling party.

And PF Kasama District Women’s Information and Publicity Secretary Ireen Chitongo and her counterpart at youth wing Jackson Simutenda have called on the party’s top leadership to immediately dissolve the Provincial Executive Committee for allegedly brining confusion in the province.

Ms. Chitongo and Mr. Simutenda have since vowed to continue advocating for the endorsement of President Michael Sata as the preferred presidential candidate for the ruling party in the 2016 general elections.

They further said all the PF officials and ordinary members in Kasama District were in full support of President Sata’s leadership.

Meanwhile, Kasama Central Constituency chairman Abraham Mulenga and his counterpart for Lukashya constituency Mutale Chibeka also maintained that their decision to endorse President Sata as PF presidential candidate in the 2016 tripartite election was final and irreversible.

Yesterday, PF provincial secretary Evarist Chela announced the suspension of acting Kasama District party chairman Caleb Monta and three other party officials for spearheading the endorsement of President Sata as the preferred presidential candidate for the PF in the 2016 general elections.

Others suspended were provincial vice-treasurer Wedson Sinkololwe, Kasama District Youth Information and Publicity Secretary Jackson Simutenda and Kasama District Women Information and Publicity Secretary Ireen Chitongo respectively.

  1. Cracks! Cracks! Cracks everywhere. Intraparty democracy is very important because people operate with an independent mind without paying allegience to individuals. The PF is facing problems today because the leadership was appointed and not elected. What PF needs is a convention so that the leadership can be given the mandate by the members of the party through an election. Other than this, these problems will continue and eventually lead the party into oblivion. What is happening today is just a tip of the iceberg. There are deep rooted problems in the PF because camps have emerged and are now jostling for the control of the party. The PF will finish themselves before 2016 and only a shell will remain. They don’t stand a chance in the 2016 elections. There are no structures on the…

  5. Expulsions are the work of Kabimba, he has lost it, high on Life prolonging drugs and wants recognition.

The good thing is every dog has it’s day, Kabimba’s day is fast dwindling.

  6. I do remember vividly that at one stage Unza required science and engineering students take a compulsory 1st-Year course on ‘African Studies’. The reason was to inculcate intellectual mindsets in the future scientists, medics and engineers to appreciate the nature of communities they were to interact with.

If Kabimba had any trace of intellect to back up his law training, he should have consulted KK’s political nightmares that he experienced in his confrontations with Kapwepwe’s Bemba-based dynasty. Kk’s family was later forced to migrate from Shambakale to Chadidza on well-founded historical facts.

Kambimba is thus committing political suicide to the extent that he will find himself (+ his hidden sponsor) prohibited to move into Northern, Luapula, Muchinga and Copperbelt…
