Defence Minister Geoffrey Mwamba has charged that Post Newspapers Editor in-Chief Fred M’membe will not succeed in his efforts to bring him down.
Mr Mwamba has since accused Mr M’membe of being behind the suspensions of PF officials in Northern Province for merely endorsing President Michael Sata’s 2016 candidature.
Mr. Mwamba has told Qfm that Mr.M’membe is allegedly trying to divide the ruling Patriotic Front but that will never succeed in his mission.
The Kasama central Member of Parliament says Mr M’membe should not advantage of the PF as he allegedly did with previous regimes.
And Mr. Mwamba says he does not understand why people in support of a seating president should be victimized.
Mr. Mwamba says the suspension of PF officials in Kasama is unjustifiable.
He says a few individuals in Kasama are against President Michael Sata and that he is very aware of the whole plot.
Mr. Mwamba adds that the same provincial leaders are the ones who should be suspended for indiscipline.

there is clear distinction between party constitution and Republican one. it is okay to endorse sata to contest party presidency and pre-mature to endorse him for Republican presidency. the bid for republican presidency can fail if the party convention drops sata and no one can seek recourse or intervention from the republican constitution.make things clear before you suspend genuine supporters of the president. it is the beloved president who is at stake due to this divisions.

This is the first time in the history of Zambia that we have a defence minister who is so petty. His utterances do not match with his office. Defence is a serious ministry which should be run by a serious individual. GBM is cheapening this postion…..honestly whole lot of defence minister taking on post editor, come on pf you can do better.
