Opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) President Hakainde Hichilema has charged that the Patriotic Front (PF) wants to regain lost popularity by using first Republican President Dr. Kenneth Kaunda.
Mr. Hichilema has told QFM News that it is very shameful that Dr. Kaunda was made to say things that were not building the nation but aimed at re-building the dented image of the PF during the independence celebrations in Kitwe last week .
Mr. Hichilema says people expect Dr. Kaunda to always rise above partisan lines so that all politicians can seek guidance from him.
He says Dr. Kaunda is supposed to be a symbol of national building, reconciliation, peace and unity like many other statesmen in the world, and not being reduced to being a tool of building the image of the PF.
The UPND Leader has since requested Dr. Kaunda to reclaim his father of the nation role in his retirement than teach President Sata what he has described as politics of oppression following his criticism of opposition leaders.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that Chikwanda tendered in his resignation this (Wednesday) evening.

Let Sata induce bye elections in major towns and see if he is still popular. The recent bye elections won by opposition parties and the booing he got during independence celebrations serve as a timely warning that PF ‘s political fortunes are dwindling fast.
If PF wants to regain its lost glory it should seriously consider making huge improvements in these three social parameters that have changed governments across the world;
1. Standard of living.
2. Cost of living.
3. Social Justice (rights and freedoms).
As things stand at the moment PF’s credibility to deliver on the above mentioned three social parameters is in serious trouble.
POA, Selective justice, nepotism,rising cost of living and falling standards of living are seriously denting PF’s image.

@Gens: I can assure you that UPND has a development plan in place. I have seen it and it would move Zambia forward. HH never stole money from anyone. He followed the Terms Of Reference as laid down by MMD government when the parastatal organizations were privatized. Most of the companies had huge liabilities that investors had to take over. One coal mine in South Africa was sold for R1 or 10 US cents, because the new owners had to take over liabilities to the tune of R1 billion or US$101 million. Blame Kaunda for having destroyed the once lucrative mines and squandered our resources on liberation movements…the same people now laugh at us saying Zambia is backwards. Trevor Noah the commedian once told his audience that Zambia as a country has 4 escalators. How ungrateful!!

Ever wondered why Zambia is still poor with all the resources gifted to it by nature? It is because of old people who cannot reason properly. They fail to distinguish time to play politics and time to be serious and work hard for the future generation.
