THE Bemba Traditional Council (BTC) has said it is ready to dialogue with Government over contentious issues surrounding the chiefdom and will wait for relevant authorities to set an appropriate date.
BTC spokesperson Washanga Mpika said following the request from Government to dialogue over the issue of Paramount Chief Chitimukulu designate Henry Sosala, the council had decided to send emissaries to Lusaka for scheduled meeting with President Michael Sata.
“We were ready to travel but the permanent secretary (Northern Province) said yesterday that the meeting had been cancelled because the president has other engagements,” he said.
He however, said the BTC was still concerned with deployment of police officers at the palace and surrounding area.
Northern Province Patriotic Front secretary Everest Chela said in an interview over the weekend that the president had given the BTC a week to organize themselves and prepare for the eventual meeting.
What dialogue?? With someone suffering from ALZHEIMERS?? One that can’t even remember where the TIP OF HIS NOSE IS!!!!!!!!!
I think Sata is taking Zambians for granted.I would rather have Henry Sosala as President of Zambia. His intelligence is a great threat to Sata as is every intellectual within the borders of Zambia.Bemba’s we read alot about how fiercely you used to fight battles in days of old,are you going to take this one laying down?
boma ni boma
Kaponya uchita chani ku US, you should be manning inter city or Kulima tower bus station.
MKV wabe ‘toloshi!
Never dialogue with satan. You end up regreting
wasosa chi color!!!
The next president must a start remove satas immunity and lock him uo at woodlands with a charge.
it’s true Zabwino palibe, please mind yours grammar & spellings
am appellled
@ Shimapalo
what tribe is that?
But surely something is unnecessarilly utterly wrong. Hands off, govt.
Bashi Lubemba please expect the best but plan for the worst because PF government is a fading mist and constantly changing with the winds of time. All leaders are learners, the moment you stop learning you stop leading.
I believe the President will learn something from this stand-off with Bashi Lubemba which may have tooth paste effect, squeeze one end and it comes out the other.
How can Sata demand for order in the Lubemba kingdom when he himself is not demanding order in his own Kingdom (PF)?
A life was lost, yet he has not said a word, but he finds guts to interfere in the traditions of the Bembas?
It’s so insane.
You hit the nail on the head.
Please leave the BTC alone, for it is not the duty of Gvnt to choose or select which persons to be chiefs or not, but is the duty of the BTC to do so.
SAULOSI, PLEASE ADVISE THIS OUR GVNT NOT TO ENTANGLE ITSELF INTO ISSUES OF THIS NATURE, I CHOOSE YOU BECAUSE YOU HAVE BEEN SUPPORTING PF DECISIONS MORE THAN ANYONE BLOGGER HERE, SO MAYBE THEY CAN LISTEN FROM YOU.
This is not meant to seem that you ba Saulosi are bent on supporting even wrong things, NO. But this because I do read your comments on this site and they almost always sound like my opinion above.
IS BTC an independent State or its under the laws of Zambia? Just asking
John…..you are too smart for your own good!
and you hater of sata say he is bemba…
Iweee Sata is Bisa not Bemba
Good move Elders! That is a sign of strength, not weakness, as the govt may think!
Lets make it clear. Its BTC to dialogue with Sata over his greedy contentious bruised ego and not GRZ.
You are right.
Dialogue my back-side.. is it dialogue or compromise?? I knew, this tribe can always compromise.. I have been told to guard reputation with my life…lets see who is who???
@ Cycle Mata,
Am at a loss of words such a vengeance!!!!!!!
From “lets see who is who?” what do you achieve in the end?…….. Exaclty!
So you Cycle mata, you are a vicious f00l who does not understand the importance of dialogue in todays politics. The appointing of Chitimukulu is a great political issue in Lubemba Kingdom of the Bemba people. There is a lot of lobbying and convincing before the selection. The BTC do not only look at the lineage of the royal houses of Mukuka Mfumu, Chanda Mukulu & Mushimba for a Chitimukulu, they also consider the personal attributes of that person. It is important to realise that Bashi Lubemba will not accept to change the appointed Chitimukulu, but may be used as a bridge for Sata to reconcile with Henry Kanyanta Sosala who is the Paramount Chief Chitimukulu designate.
Ofcourse the Bembas, especially abena Ng’andu have been bruised and will remember this for a long time to come.
Ordinarily, govt is not supposed to interfere in the affairs of traditional leadership. It appears people in govt do not realize that hatred for one person can transform into a full scale conflict. We don’t need that!
St Jude….There are some things that the Government has to interfere. The land ” as Zambia” has rules to follow and BTC is not a country on its own bt part of Zambia.
Government might have seen something wrong in BTC as so, we just need to wait and see!!!
@Paolo Di Canio,
by “government” you mean Sata? And what land-laws in this case were not followed? succession to Chitimukulu throne is very clear: from senior chief Mwamba to Chitimukulu. But Sata wants to impose his fellow Bisa, a brother to Nkandu Luo. Every Shilubemba knows this scheme of Sata, but it will not happen. So the issue is not between Govt laws and BTC, but between the individual Sata – his ego and the BTC.
@ 13.2 Umubemba. Sata wants to impose Chief Chewe as Chitimukulu because Chewe is a hardcore PF cadre . Chief Chewe is a Bemba chief from Chinsali and also from the banished Ngoshe Mukote lineage and therefore can not become Mwine Lubemba. He is not Bisa and not Prof Luo’s brother. Also Chitimukulu comes from either senior chief Mwamba or senior chief Nkula depending on Bashilubemba’s decision. Do you research properly rather than mislead people like ZWD.
kekekeke..whats the fussy about the chieftaincy..?
Pompwe, shi leka uku sabaila!!!!
Wemwana wa soka we pompwe mushibila sala! Shaa!m
Cowards
I can’t believe that the whole Presidency is everyday preoccupied with such an issue. Does Sata really have any serious work in state house? It could be possible that Sata himself wants to be the Chitimukulu!
Sata doesn’t have much to do in state house or perhaps can’t read the documents and memo’s he is handed everyday so he picks petty fights.Thats becoming plain to see everyday. The man must go!
Dialogue yes, it is a good thing to do but you have to stand your grounds and explain why Sosala shall be so till death. Remember once anointed it can not be taken away. Sosala is already anointed.
Thank you
Please you bembaz. Thats a trap by the cobra. He simply wants you within striking range. Dont trust him . Dont dialogue with him. His name is called Cobra. A snake. A sepent . Full of deceit.
If witchcraft does work and the stories we hear about it in Luapula and Northern provinces, why can’t these Bashilubemba use it to resolve thes issues. Because WITCHCRAFT is one the methods used in conflict resolutions in chiefdoms.
What does your name mean…?
Ba Sata, remove the speck out of the your eye first. Mr Sata.
Sata has a BIG log in his eye,not a speck.
Very mature and wise move as expected from the Elders. Live today and fight tomorrow after all PF will pass but the Traditions will live to see another day as long as time stands, thus, upholding and safe guarding it’s principles is what matters today nomatter how humilliating it maybe. It seems the flames are high from the Government, therefore,it’s dangerous to equal that. Am happy to see how the Elders have chosen to protect the innocent who might have found themselves between this war. Remember today is yours but never forget tomorrow belongs to Time!
@cindy
cindy i want to make a humble plea to all bembas on this blog.. please ask Bemba elders at the BTC not ukutipwila Sata… the man is already confused and is making alot of mistakes.. if they tipwila him it will make it worse and he can set the nation on fire
@ Ndobo
Hihihihihi! stop making me laugh such things dont exist. Only his conscious will punish him am sure it has started already.
@cindy
dont laugh. such things exist. this is serious!!,,, ukutipwila is called cursing in english… even in the bible people and leaders were cursed for wrong doing

Give us a break Northerners, you originate from the same family as Bembas and discuss your pep differences either in state house since the tenant is one of yours or fly him to your local palaces to the exclusion of Zambians. How long is the circus going to last?
You are the main clown in the circus and you are not suppose to be discussing serious matters. The tenant of state house at any given time is the president of the Republic of Zambia. Currently the person is fermenting a lot of anger and dispondency in Bembaland whihc is part of Zambia for sure. We the Zambians have decided to discuss this matter on this blog and if you have nothing to contribute then just get lost you stup!d f00l!
SATAn NAPENA. AT 75 YEARS THESE ARE THE LAST KICKS OF A DYING HORSE. ATI SATA WAS A FREEDOM FIGHTER, FROM WHERE? TANZANIA MAYBE.
Let me try
Give the man the title, His excellence Micheal Sata Chilufya Chitimukulu Mwinelubemba Ukwa II, am sure this will make the nigga feel good. No more fight Ukwa has been crowned Mwinelubemba.
Dialogue with somebody who disagrees with you in his house is a bad strategy. In my view the Bashilubemba must only accept this meeting at a neutral venue, preferably in their province. Let’s not forget that political parties and elective offices are for a time but traditional leadership is forever. You bembas stand your ground and wait this thing out. PF and Michael Sata are not forever.
It’s possible that tons of brown envelopes may have been shipped to chifes, why has the tone suddenly changed when they claimed Sosala has already been crowned.
I beg your pardon, it’s ‘chiefs’
@ 13.2 Umubemba. Sata wants to impose Chief Chewe as Chitimukulu because Chewe is a hardcore PF cadre. Chief Chewe is a Bemba chief from Chinsali and also from the banished Ngoshe Mukote lineage and therefore can not become Mwine Lubemba. He is not Bisa and not Prof Luo’s brother. These are hot burning issues, it was Barotseland now its Bashi Lubemba. Who is next? These issues need level headedness to sort us otherwise the country will not see meaningful development since most time and resources will be spend on deployment of security forces in the name of maintaining law and order. There is need for 100% dialogue for all stakeholders. Pulling each other in different directions will not this country anywhere. I love mother Zambia and urge all stakeholders to reflect on their actions. I rest mu case.
It does not matter whether Sata is called Bemba or Bisa – he does not lose sleep over it! Why? Because Bembas and Bisas are one and the same people if you know their history i.e. they migrated into Zambia as one Luba group under the leadership of brothers Chiti and Nkole. They later split into two groups after a row between Chiti’s sister (Chilufya Mulenga) and her cousin Chanda. One group later called itself Bisa and the other Bemba.
Where’s Mwamba Luchembe when you need him?
Bacepa sana bakalume kabili batwale ubupuba ukokwine bafuma!!! This battle only a fool can try wisemen have failed.Inshimbi ni nshimbi. VIVA BTC.ABASH POLITICAL MASTURBATORS!!
What is wrong with Sata? I think the country is going in a wrong direction each day Sata stays at plot one. He has failed to run affairs of the country and he has failed to run affairs of his own party.
Henry Kanyanta Sosala will eventually be installed as Chitimukulu. Sata and Sosala will reconcile. But remove the troops from Lubemba. We Bembas are very skilled in warfare. We defeated the marauding impis of Shaka cum Ngonis and they surrendered with their tails down. Germany also felt the stingy of the Bemba fire in East Africa during the first and second wirld wars. Welensky quickly capitualated at the height of civil disobedience to protest against the British Colonial rule. Chachacha was largely spearheaded by Bembas. Luapula Copperbelt and Northern Provinces formed the stadel of chachacha. Remove the troops from Lubemba. We don’t w\ant to be reminded about the past wars.
Anyone with some answers?
Do chiefs have powers? Can they act separately from government? Can a chief order a government wing to do something? Are chiefs something we keep to display that we European copycat nations haven’t abandoned our traditions? Realistically do they have a future? What do chiefs do for their people? Are we waiting for chiefdoms to silently die?
People are talking as if Zambia is a monarch instead of a republic state! Chiefs are are only tolerated, they have no powers in a republic that is why there are laws to be followed before any chief is installed and the right bloodline is found!
