Mutapa-Zambia will be ready for COSAFA U-20

Zambia Under-20 coach Oswald Mutapa Jr says his side will be ready for
next month’s COSAFA Youth Championship in Lesotho.

The Junior Chipolopolo has entered camp in Lusaka to prepare for the
regional youth championship that from December 3-14.

Mutapa is happy with the way the training camp was progressing.

He was speaking after the Under-20 COSAFA Cup champions lost to FAZ
Super League side Red Arrows 1-0 in a practice match in Lusaka on
Thursday.

“Training is going on well from today’s training game against Arrows I
think we have shown some resistance because we played Arrows last week
they beat us 4-1 and today they have beaten us 1-0 which shows there
is an improvement,” Mutapa said.

“We will be ready by the time we will be leaving,” he said.

“Some players do not play regularly and we have put them through the
paces the last two weeks I think by the time we will be leaving
everyone will be in good shape.”

Mutapa hoped that the team would improve its scoring ability.

“Goals are a concern but if your team is training and they are
creating chances that should give you a positive way that they will
score.

Meanwhile, Zambia is in Group C at the COSAFA Youth Championship
together with South Africa, Namibia and Seychelles.
