PF parliamentary candidate for Vubwi by-election,Margaret Miti grabbed the parliamentary seat which was previously being held by opposition MMD’s Dr Eustarckio Kazonga with a margin of 2,706 votes.

Ms Miti polled 3,797 votes beating her closest rival Dr Kazonga who only managed 1,091 votes.

The newly elected Member of Parliament(MP) commended the electorates including President Michael Sata for the confidence showed on her.

Ms Miti pledged to foster various developments in the new district through the electrification programme, improving of water, construction of new roads among others.

In Kasenengwa,MMD’s Victoria Kalima retained the seat with a resounding victory beating his closest rival Gideon Zulu of the PF.

Ms Kalima pledged not to revenge to the people who was against her but work according to the people’s expectations in the constituency.

When contacted for a comment,Mr Zulu including Eastern Province MMD chairperson Alexander Miti declined to comment on the matter.

Eastern Province UPND chairperson Paul Thole and his counterpart for UNIP Donald Sakala conceeded defeat in the elections of their candidates.

“The position of the party is that we have been defeated by PF and MMD,”he said.

At a totally centre,MMD Eastern Province Youth Chairperson Chembe Daka surprised everyone when he pissed in the Chipata Municipal Council chamber in full view of the people and a police officer dragged out the drunkard,Mr Daka from the totally centre.

Anti-Voter Apathy Project (AVAP) Coordinator Maumba Ngoma thanked all political players in the Kasenengwa and Vubwi parliamentary by-elections and the police for ensuring violence free campaigns.

Mr Ngoma observes that usually people avoiding taking in voting because of violence saying the same spirit should continue in the pending Malambo and Petauke central by-elections.

He said that politics should not be regarded as a dirty game but a platform for different political parties to sell their manifestos to Zambians.

  1. PF has so far scooped 4 out of the last 6 by-elections if we add Mangango. Surely with these kind of results you still want to shout that Haleisa Haleisa ? Why not just shout Halelubana Halapena ? Hikainde has been deluding himself for the past 3 presidential elections that he will rule Zambia. Ever since he came into his party leadership position on a tribal vote pushing out Sakwiba Sikota,Chisanga and Bob Sichinga who were more well positioned he has been acting like a man possessed. High time he stopped smoking whatever he smokes because it is clear it gives him a false sense of invincibility toward elections. 1 win out 6 by-elections if it was in an exam is unsatisfactory. Abash UPND !!!

    • PF has gained 3 seats.. 2 they grabbed from mmd and 1 From upnd in Zambezi(they held the seat since 2001)…
UPND has won 1 but gained non because of Zambezi loss…
MMD has retained 1 but lost 3 of their seats……
I DON’T THINK WE HAVE OPPOSITION PARTIES IN ZAMBIA……

    • The moral of the story my dear UPND is “having a lot of facebook likes will never win you an election nor is wishing Sata dead.” The secret is trying to sell your party vision to the electorate.Good luck in 2021

    • I feel so sorry for HH.

I wouldn’t be surprised if people like Wanzelu defect to PF. I feel for all his people. This is horrible news for them. It’s like losing a relative. UPND should be used for duping aoany people.

      Numbers don’t lie

      Thanks

    • Sauloshi ulichipuba. In your small heard full of maggots all you see is tribalism. Is there any basis surely to compare HH with Ba Sichinga? Lets be serious

    • I feel sorry for UPND cadres like Ndobo,Nostradamus,Jay Jay and Wanzelu. This must teach you that making noise here won’t change an opinion of a person on the ground in Zambezi or Mkushi. You will just continue deluding yourselves from the likes you get from the few people with internet access who mainly don’t even vote.

    • UPND has lost its Zambezi west to PF.It has held the seat since 2001 under Mazoka. This party is going down. Congratulations PF for grabbing those seats from the opposition.

    • It will be folly for the UPND to feel good and celebrate the winning of Solwezi Central. This is the history of Solwezi Central Constituency. From 1998 to 2005 the seat belonged to UPND with Ben Tentamashimba until he defected to the MMD. Ben Tentamashimba retained the seat under the MMD until he died in 2008. The UPND under Watson Lumba recaptured the seat from 2008 to 2011. From 2011, the MMD stole the seat from UPND when Lucky Mulusa won the parliamentary seat albeit through crooked means. This bye election, the seat has gone back to UPND. So is there anything to celebrate here?

    • It is not surprising for MMD and UPND to win the two seats they have won just in those areas like it was not surprising for PF to have won Mansa Central. But the bottom line to all this is that PF is gaining ground while MMD have moved to a third position on the Zambian political landscape, as things stand right now MMD can only win SOME seats in Eastern province the rest of the country zero. Even if one was to go into a pact with MMD there’s not much they can bring to the table on the national level.

    • Its like pick pocketing from the streets and bragging about it when your conscience tells you that it’s wrong.pf know for sure that their win is not genuine.

    • If PF is that popular why dish out money to clubs and organisations formed a day before the elections? PF has engaged in electoral malpractices worse than the ones they nullified many MMD seats for. To me its a good sign of a sinking party if it has to spend huge government resources just to win seats through vote buying.

The government coffers are now almost dry because of massive vote buying. So people who work for the government should brace themselves for more delayed salaries in the coming months because PF has spend a lot of money bribing the voters and propping up unplanned projects to rig the elections.

    • AND YOU SAY SATA IS SICK, HOW DOES A PATIENT BEAT YOU UP LIKE THIS? HE’S ‘SICK’ AND YET DELIVERING. IF THIS IS WHAT IT MEANS TO BE SICK THEN I WOULD RATHER BE A PATIENT.

    • Kekeke kikiki… Saulosi ala mune you will cause HH to commit suicide, now He is pissing in his pants. His LT supporters are also pissing in their pants . The UPND does not know what has hit them. But any way they will win the next elections as they say….people who just make noise and yet have nothing on the ground.

Ours is to sing, Long live PF, long live King Sata , Long live King cobra. Hehe UPND has fallen, the insipid UPND is conquered, the noise UPND alwala shiki polomya guys, O who will give UPND the toilet paper to clean its mess….people of Zambia, come to the help of UPND…..UPND alala, alala.

    • @Words of wisdom, UPND can never be number 2. It is MMD which number2. UPND will never surpass MMD in Luapula, Muchinga, Copperbelt, Lusaka and Eastern provinces. Whilst UPND will only come 2nd in NorthWestern and 1st in their home ground Southern. This is my analysis. Until HH steps down, UPND will never go any where because of the was Hakainde came of the political scene. He ahs a foundation reinforced with tribal conforce wire which cannot last. Let them bring back leaders such as ba Dr. Patrick Chisanga or many others, then party will regain its popularity. HH is not a politician but a mere African economic analyst.

    • @Wanzelu, still behaving like the proverbial ostrich ka, burying your head in the sand thinking you wont be seen. You guys should delink yourselves from the tribal rantings you continue to spew on online media, otherwise you decampaign your messiah

  2. I expected that and still its a big loss for the previous ruling party (MMD) showing that the clock has just stopped working. They have lost all their four seats while Upnd has lost one and grabbed another one what drama on Zed.

  3. When PF grabbed Mangango, I said it was difficult to see how the opposition will regroup and bounce back from that dafeat. Now PF has added Zambezi and Vubwi and look at the former MPs they have dislodged there.

I am not a PF supporter and will probably never be but reality is reality. PF are here to stay.

  4. This is how it should be, Let the best candidate and party win, congrats to everyone who participated in the elections, now I wonder whether Ms. kalima and UPND candidate in Solwezi have rigged elections. I say so because Zambia watchdog has been reporting rubbish about PF rigging. what UPND should know is that, only one tribe is supporting Zambian Watchdog and ZW will never influence Zambians at all into voting UPND, MY grandpa in Shiwang’andu doesn’t know anything about this animal called ZW. check your brains Mr. HH. My free advice.

    • What do you mean by saying ONLY ONE TRIBE is voting for UPND? Solwezi has only one tribe? This is self-delusion, myopic and smacks of tribalism itself

    • Actually its high time HH delinked himself from Zambian Watch dog as they are heavily de-campaigning him with their tribal inclined reporting. Free advice, meanwhile ni pobo after pobo

    • Their report is true ,checked with a police officer of mine in solwezi,he acknowledged an attempt of pre signing.otherwise the seat would have gone to pf.

    • What do you know? The only opposition party that the PF fears is UPND. Its a party to take over in 2016 come sunshine come rain becoz sata will be no more while Kabimba has been kicked out.

    • @Scribe, who told you that Kabimba was popular in PF apart from his verbal diarrhea? and UPND winning 2016, where will the votes come from? Let me speculate for you, SP apart from Livingstone, part of WP and NWP. where else bwana. Change tact, embrace and stop demonizing bembas as they seem to be many.

  5. PF is not popular it just using resources because it is the party in power that is why it is able to win elections in remote areas. UPND change your strategy-start fielding new Blood in any coming elections not old MPs because their weaknesses are known by the PF and the people themselves. Well done PF but watch out in 2016, you not the manage to bribe veryone-5,000,000 voters.

    • When are you going to wake up and realise that ever since 2001, PF has been making progress at each election held while UPND and MMD has been nose diving? PF is the people’s party and if you dont believe me, wait for 2016! Iam betting my precious manhood!

    • Man that what you always say….next elections UPND will win, the elections come UPND loses. Again you say next election UPND will win , the next election comes UPND loses again. Guys you don’t get tired hoping for next after next. Now you are saying 2016 UPND will win, but to tell you the truth UPND will lose….again you will say come 2021….you ZWD brainwashed people face reality that HH will never win any election.

  6. Elections were in kasenengwa a different of 7000 sure people like madam kalmia she is hard working sad news to uncle Eustarckio Kazonga Banda now what about petauke central when will be the battle

  7. By – Elections are a litmus test to show PF is still growing strong. Even Barcelona lost some games but still won the Spanish championship. HH is dribbling himself by only showing up during elections. Campaigning does not stop until the next Polls. Sata was always on the campaign trial from 2001 to to 2011. HH is has more ground to catch up. If at all HH was popular, his party would have won all the by Elections held since PF came to power. Wake up HH and see the fruits of your labours. The Law of Harvest is real.

  8. ECZ should be professional in the dealings, its not possible for pf to win in eastern province, the pilot project was just a means to rig ,just look at the huge margin in kasenengwa,The mmd should ask for manual recount,as for mangango pf are cheating themselves because those Angolans will not be scared in 2016.

    • @Chikubabeniso.

PF are wimps. They are also scared that in 2016, those given registration cards will now change their minds and vote who ever they want.

They would have had a good chance had they not forced these by elections in these areas. Now that they have won some of them by crook or hook, the lies that PF is known for cities will now trickle down to these areas,so that by 2016, people will not believe a word PF says.

PF has a year a half to deliver on their promises or risk being booted like MMD and UNIP.

  9. As an analyst of the ruling and the opposition parties, all I can state is that, well done for the seats you have won. To UPND work on your weaknesses in preparation of the 2016 general elections because at the pace you are moving, am not sure you can win the presidential election. From my point of view PF is slowly bt surely gaining the trust of the people back and if you don’t wake up, you are going to start singing viva 2021 and imagine were 2021 is. To MMD go back to the drawing board and see were you went wrong then come back and convince us maybe u can enter back the competition. To all those individuals busy talking about tribalism please let that campaign go because it can never help you win an election. Were are slowly but surely coming together as one Zambia one Nation. Peace

    • Your analysis is myopic. How do you expect someone to defend themselves when you tie their hands and expect them to box there orponents with two hands free and without gloves. What do I mean? The PF took these former MPs to court on the pretext that they were involved in malpractice. For example mr Kakoma is said to have donated one cellphone. So when by election were called the position candidates obeyed by not donating gifts and money while PF candidates were seen dishing out money buying voters cards and giving out ZTE cellphones. This is not fair and PF should not be proud by cheating pipo in the rural in solwezi town they faid to rig.We shall see the truth in 2016.when massive rigging will not work because pipo will vote against them massively.

  10. Zambians in rural areas should stop exchanging their birth right, that’s why most of our people live in abject poverty.Esau sold his birth right to Jacob, and God bless Jacob.don’t think in your mind that it’s just a vote ,it has serious genealogical repercussions,be firm and do the right thinking rather than living in guilty for the rest of your lives.in this case the politicians are stealing your blessings.wake up you rural dwellers.

    • Has UPND ever won in urban areas? For your information Solwezi Central has always been a UPND seat sing 98 apart from the two years it was held by Mulusa

    • or are you gauging UPND urban popularity based on ZWD? You must be some shallow knucklehead. Have you taken your meds this morning?

  11. CONGRATULATIONS UPND FOR SCOOPING ALL THE SEATS. I THINK INSULTS, DEEP HATEM, JEALOUS AND ENVY FROM YOUR PRESIDENT HH ARE WORKING FOR YOU. KEEP IT UP.

    • LOOK AND BE FOCUST. IF ANYTHING, UPND HAS NOT LOST A SEAT INSTEAD SHE HAS GOT ONE STRONG TOWN LIKE SOLWEZI WHERE YOU ARE STEALING MONEY TO BUILD YOUR HOMES. WELL DONE BAKAONDE BAJIMUKA.

YOUR HATE FOR UPND IS MAKING THE PARTY POPULAR YOU TRIBALIST PARTY

    • Solwezi Central has been a UPND seat since 98 apart from the two years it was held by Mulusa. You guys should not be forgetting to be taking your meds in the morning

  12. The Issue here is not UPND but PF but about 2016 vote where the president is not going to stand. Which is your clossied rival dear Saulos and Mushota? Remember if you will release the Constitution before 2016 of 50+1, Then you must expect to pack and go. The wise MMD are now looking for the future of UPND and only the die hard like UNIP guys have the hopes of coming back. MMD is dying every day and shall never come back.

My advise to the people in MMD especially great men like Hn Kabinga Mpande, and all those reasoning MPs should maintain your positions and junmp to UPND by 2016. Whe ba Sata steps down that means Power failure, Panga Family will go.

    • Did you know that PF wanted to steal ballots in Solwezi? 3 guys are under custody her in Solwezi and this must be a lesson to all the opposition that PF is a Thief, they have stolen some votes somewhere. An example is here in Solwezi. Post rush and proof yourself by getting pictures of the arrested guys from the poling stations of eg, Kyawama.

PF has nothing to brug about I have proof and come and see them Hohoooooooooooo basakalanyongo.

  13. Women have done well this time around. I think Victoria Kalima did win with clean hands even in 2011 and she has done it again convincingly. What happened to the Kambwili and GBM dance in Solwezi. Never import a candidate from another constituency, chose a local person always.

  14. The overall losers are the Zambian tax payers who have been financing these elections from September 2011 to date, non-stop. I wish we could have used this money to finance health and education in these very rural constituencies. Congrats PF for winning 3 out of 5 seats.

  15. CONGRATULATION PF 4 GRABBIG THOSE 3 SEATS. THE BIG LOSS 4 UPND IS THE ZAMBEZI WEST .UPND HAS WON THE SOLWZI COZ OF REGIONAL VOTING

  16. @ Ulemu Ndi wa Bwino, that was my free advice, you can take it or leave it. every president needs all Zambians to vote for him, but if you rely on ZW which is one sided and confusing people with their reporting, am sorry you will end up killing yourself. when was the last time HH was in Luapula, Northern and Muchinga provinces. recently Luapula had by elections for councilors, Nevers was there but HH was doomed in his known places.

  17. UPND and MMD are now in a political diarhoe atmosphere. They have been barking and claiming to be popular but when elections come,i don,t them on a wining side if not one seat out of five.bravo PF.

  18. It be very difficult 4 upnd to win 2016 bcoz they are losing their seats, look at pf their were nt losing their seats in by election

  19. Congrats to the PF!!! HH and all his cadres should stop relaying on the the ZWD. It is misleading them always giving unnecessary praises and biased reporting towards the UPND. Maybe a change of leadership should be tabled if their political fortunes are to improve

As for MMD, its time its members reflected on what it means to re-brand. With Nevers at the helm, and with no leadership qualities inherent in him, their fortunes are only one way, downstream!!!! Perhaps that loud mouthed MMD whatever youth wing cordinator, Bowman, should also stop misleading his boss, Nevers and ask him ti kindly step aside. Nevers is broke and dull (politically) and you will not achieve anything. You are still young to turn yourself into a bootlicker

  20. YOU CAN’T BE THE PRESIDAENT OF ZAMBIA WITH 2 PROVINCES COME 2016 PF WILL WIN. TO THOSE WHO WANT TO C PRESIDAENT SATA DEAD THEY WILL DIE BE4 HIM LONG LIVE THE PRESIDAENT

  21. Our plans are not God’s plans, God had already chosen the winning candidates from the beginning before elections yesterday and let us be united and prayer for our leaders. Let us not wish others of harm is the spirit of evils lest refrain from that because for everything God has already put it on its own time.

  22. Haa!!! Pabwato have proved their power once more. Am glad that people are able to see what PF is doing. VIVA PF Bravo Mr. President SATA

    • How does not know that Solwezi is a very important townthats why Guy scott said it was important to win Solwezi.Solwezi is the new copperbelt and PF has been systematically pushing all the Kolwestans into Solwezi town to colonise it just like they are doing with Livingstone. This is the reason why HH and UPND should cerebrate winnig solwezi for Zambezi west it will be recaputered in 2016 its no big deal. The solwezi victory has pained PF and the Bemba tribal clique who are the main beneficially of the mineral wealth from solwezi to Muchinga province and the Mansions they are building in New Kasama. Thanks god for those who stoped Panga family from rigging.
