Fwayo Tembo made a strong statement in Romania on Sunday while Bornwell Mwape returned from suspension to play a part in a shock win for Amazulu on the same date.
SOUTH AFRICA
Amazulu: Bornwell Mwape scored bottom placed Amazulu’s third goal in their 5-2 away win over SuperSport United on Sunday in a game he played the full 90 minutes.
It was Mwape’s sixth goal in all competition in his first season with the beleaguered club whom he joined from Nchanga Rangers last July.
Mpumalanga Black Aces: Collins Mbesuma played the full match but did not score in Aces 2-1 away loss at Pretoria University on Saturday.
Davies Nkausu also played the full 90 minutes for Pretoria whom he rejoined in January.
Orlando Pirates/Polokwane City: Striker Musonda Mwape was on the bench for Orlando Pirates in their 3-1 home win over Polokwane City while defender Joseph Musonda played the full game for the visitors.
ISRAEL
–Striker Rodgers Kola started for 2nd placed Hapoel Kiryat Shmona but did not score in their 2-1 away loss to 3rd placed Hapoel be’er Sheva before he was substituted in the 71st minute.
–Defender Emmanuel Mbola played the full match for 6th place Hapoel Ra’anana in Saturday’s 2-0 home win over Hapoel Haifa.
Striker Evans Kangwa came on in the 712st minute but did not score.
–Midfielder William Njobvu played the full game for Israel second division club Beitar Tel Aviv on Friday who beat second placed Hapoel Bnei Lod 3-0.
Beitar Tel Aviv stay fifth from bottom in 12th place despite the win.
ROMANIA
Fwayo scored his first goal for FC Astra following his recent return to the club after storming out of the Romanian club 18 months ago.
The striker scored a late 80th minute equaliser just ten minutes after coming on with 5th positioned Astra trailing 1-0 at halftime against 11th placed FC Brasov.
