FIRST republican president Dr Kenneth Kaunda has called on all Zambians to rally behind President Edgar Lungu and his team if the country has to move forward.

Dr Kaunda said there is too much hatred in the country right now which is has a result of political differences.

“We cannot develop if we hate each other, we need to love each other and move forward. Let’s support Edgar Lungu and his team,” he said.
Dr Kaunda was speaking after the requiem mass for the late former defence minister Lavu Mulimba who died last week.

Meanwhile, Dr Kenneth Kaunda has described the late former Defence Minister Lavu Mulimba as a trustworthy person.

In his farewell message, Dr. Kaunda said he entrusted the late Mr. Mulimba with major government positions such as Defence, Labour and Social Security Minister because he was trustworthy and reliable.
“I trusted him, that is why I chose to work with him,” said Dr. Kaunda during the requiem mass of Mr. Mulimba at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Lusaka today.

Dr Kaunda said Mr. Mulimba’s death was terrible adding that he will greatly miss him.

He said the only way to honour the late Mr. Mulimba, who once served as Petauke Member of Parliament and Member of the Central Committee in UNIP, was by remembering the immense contributions he earnestly made to Zambia.

And Vice President Inonge Wina said it was gratifying that the late Mr. Mulimba made remarkable contributions to Zambia through the various positions that he held in government both in the corporate and civil society.

Mrs. Wina said in a speech read for her by Minister of Health Joseph Kasonde that the tremendous record of good contribution the late Mr. Mulimba has left should be emulated by all Zambians.

Meanwhile, Zozo, the son to the late Mr. Mulimba, has described his father as a hero and mentor.

He said in his tribute message that his father has left a void that will never be filled.

He said the family will miss the late Mr. Mulimba for his humility and wisdom.
His political career dates back to 1973 when he was elected as Munali Ward Councillor and subsequently voted as Mayor of Lusaka in the UNIP government.

Mr. Mulimba 77, died on March 29, 2015 at the University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka after an illness.

The late Mr. Mulimba, who will be buried in his home town Petauke on April 8, 2015, is survived by a wife, 10 children, 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

  1. Just Rest old Man. Thank you what you have done, you will always be important.

    • Yes , lets support and Edgar and PF in increasing load shedding, depreciation of the kwacha, inconsistency in policy and accumulation of internal and external debt

    • Best presdient

      2. Chiluba

      3. Banda

      4. Mwanawasa

      5. Lungu

      6. Kaunda

These are FACTS and if you disagree , you are an Idlot

      Thanks

    • Haters are doomed. A nation cannot be held at ransom or ruined by pockets of highly self consumed hate and jealous sole losers. Lungu is Joshua of our time. We intercede for God to sustain him in the mandate to serve and lead our country for which God appointed him for.

    • STUP!D OLD MAN! Just shut your rubbish mouth! These problems are all from your STUP!DITY and DICTATORSHIP!

      You should be in JAIL.

    • Mushota you have the right to have your opinion but calling others idi.ots is not your right. And for the best Presidents that really brought development and changed mindsets of Zambians to be entrepreneurs is as follows:

Rupiah Banda, KK, Mwanawasa. Chiluba messed up and reversed the gains of multipartism and entrepreneurship, Sata was as Post says, an absentee landlord and it is too early for Lungu. He might outshines all of them with his efforts and rule of law. He is humble and transparent in his state duties.

    • WE ALL APPRECIATE AND CHERISH LOVE. IT IS AN INTEGRAL PART OF HUMAN EXISTENCE. BUT MR. FORMER PRESIDENT PLEASE BE REMINDED THAT IN AS MUCH AS YOU WOULD WISH TO SEE THE END OF HATRED AMONG ZAMBIANS, AT REQUIRES THE URGENT ACTION OF LUNGU AND HIS TEAM TO RESPECT EVERY ZAMBIAN OF EVERY TRIBE AND ETHNICITY. STOP MARGINALIZING OTHER ZAMBIAN PEOPLE PLEASE. THE NATIONAL CAKE SHOULD BE SHARED EQUITABLY, AND GOVERNMENT POSITIONS SHOULD BE DISTRIBUTED EQUITABLY AND PROPORTIONALLY AMONG THE TRIBES OF OUR LAND. THEN YOU WILL SEE THE SUPPORT WHICH YOU WISH US TO SHOW LUNGU.

    • Support for Lungu is always there, though at the moment is in the form of constructive criticism. We cannot have an economy which is driven by policies which are not well thought through and we expect good results.

  2. Which village in petauke are we talking about?? You mean pa Boma olo? 10 CHILDREN from one woman or what? i dont remember him being social security officer, clarify meanwhile mhsrip

  3. A SPIRITUAL WARNING TO ALL ZAMBIANS;

Edgar Lungu was told by Sangoma in South Africa to sacrifice the blood of Zambians in his place in the month of April 2015 nowander the massive road accidents you are experiencing.

Edgar Lungu was turned into a Satanist by Sangoma in South Africa. Alot of people will die in road carnage this April 2015 than any other year.

Please Zambians, especially you teachers and pupils, make sure that you pray as you go to and from your institution of learning.

    Good Bye.

    • Zambian Christians’ faith is only skin deep. Deep down they believe in witchcraft. How do you talk of Sangomas in one breath and in the same breath talk of students and teachers to pray to God to avoid the wrath of the Sangomas. Christianity and witchcraft are supposed to be mutually exclusive. They find an old man suffering from dementia, a decease associated with old age, who is naked because he has forgotten to put on clothes they kill him because he is a witch. On Sunday they go to Church as if nothing ever happened. A Christian nation indeed!

    • Skin deep, yes. But Christianity and witchcraft being mutually exclusive? Absolutely not!

Well, perhaps it depends on what you mean by “witchcraft.” Because if it is the magic where innocent lives are wasted unfairly, you have to stand in owe for the mother of unfairness – the Christian faith!

Don’t go too far back in human history, just begin at Egypt: Moses and the Pharaohs. Remember the display of snakes, turning water into blood and the deaths of all first born sons?

Yeah, that muti or bwanga or whatever you want to call it. It was to one of the those mfwitis who killed innocent first born children that the 10 commandments were given to Israelites.

Va magazi magazi, are all over the bible.

    • But UPND nimbwa shabantu. Mulesha chief Satanist wenu mulefwaya mubepeshe uwakaele. ECL forever. Haters shall never rule.

  4. I refuse to support Edgar Lungu. A is a very useless and sick dying president. I refuse to support a moving casket.

    • Stop calling yourself “Pastor” unless it is your given name. Your rantings do not portray the character of a “Pastor”. If you are truly a”pastor” then you are “a very useless and mentally sick pastor. I refuse to believe a demon like you.”!

  5. kaunda with all due respect sir, I think you are too old to see the freedom you strived for crumbling like dust under the PF, just enjoy all your comforts. PF has ruined This country

    • This economy is among the best performing in the world. Only haters and lazy bones cannot see that.

  6. Patriots support him and we out number the enemies of Zambia who don’t. As plain as that. We want a united Zambia that shares responsibility for our country’s success.

    God Bless Our President
    God Bless Zambia

  7. Who hates who ? And poltical appointments on tribal lines have continued. You marginalise others and then call them haters. Let zambia go back to its original form.

  8. Iwe mudala KK, muzamvelana ns Mmembe vamene ukamba ivo mudala?
Old man you risk the ersth of Mmembe, anyway thank you for your courage.

  9. Inside today’s Past news, Mmembe mentions Vernon Mwaanga in complimentary terms like “….veteran politician….”. Let Mwaanga mention any form of suuport for Edgar Lungu and the compliment will change to familiar Past news terms like “…the disgraced Mwaanga….who does not remember how this same Mwaanga was dropped like a leper by Levy….”. Kikikiki how am I doing at parroting the Past news phraseology? I mean I have read and studied them since they were born in 1990 as the Weekend Post until now when they have grown into rotten scum, headless and shameless chickens called the Past! That chi mmembe the sooner it is sorted out the better and sorted out it shall be.

    • But when the post was supporting PF against the MMD it was a glorious paper was it not? Now that it is against you guys you condemm it. Times Daily and Daily nation sing your praises and I suppose the truth revealed in the Post newspaper hurts, it is not about hating it is about watching our country going back to ruin and people in the government I mean ministers are getting richer and the majority of Zambians getting poorer.

  10. This is the stupid ***** who has impoverished Zambia. When he took over from the colonialists, economically Zambia was performing well. Did he have brains to notice that things were going downhill during his tenure of office. So, people don’t blindly shower him with praises.

    • This old man must shut up. This dictator is trying appear like an angel of light. Wena Kaunda how many political opponents have you killed? Today you are talking about love.

    • In 1964 how many graduates did Zambia have? How many kilometres of roads were tarred? In Lusaka what was the capacity of hospitals which where there to cater for blacks. If it was not for the free education and health facilities that KK introduced, a lot of you would have had no education or would have died in infancy. Tell me sir what job was your grand father doing in 1964? Most probably a substance farmer with 12 malnourished children. Yes KK made mistakes which is human. Your HH with his humble back ground would not have been were he is now had it not been for the free education during KK’s era. Some times we should learn to say, THANK YOU and move on.

    • When we criticise a leader it does not mean he did not anything good. Even bad leaders do some good such as Idi Amin e.g. some Ugandans benefitted from his action of expelling Indians from Uganda. We criticise a leader based on his overall performance. KK inherited a health economy from the British and according to Kadansa, a popular street politician of the late 70’s he had in excess of a billion pounds in foreign reserves at Independence. True, he did all those things you have said but when he was kicked out of power Zambia was in debt to a tune of $7 billion dollars.

  11. ba kaunda nibamuselela kwakaba..this is a selfish man who cant even help his fellow freedom fighter mr grey zulu get his benefits..its all about him gettin the lime light nothin else..baleikalafye banadyela abo..zambians hav so much love in their hearts.asatisokoneze..we know beta….

  12. …..the old man is still hallucinating with his ….ONE PARTY PARTICIPATORY DEMOCRACY……can some-one remind him that tho the FTJs and the likes have passed on…democracy is still very much alive…..

  13. Dr Kaunda should be the last person to talk about love because during his reign he did many bad things. He lied to the British Government and the Lozi people that he was going to respect the Barotseland Agreement of 1964 but he instead ensured that all the contents of the treaty that led to the quick independence of the union of Barotseland and North-Western Rhodesia was unilaterally and completely annulled by 1969, barely 4 years after it was signed. Many Lozi people who advocated for the respect of the Barotseland Agreement 1964 met their untimely deaths under his command. He introduced ”Dollar shops” so that only well-to-do people could buy from there. Acquisition of passports was made very difficult so as to restrict citizen’s international movements. KK was and is still full of…

  14. I feel sorry for the lost souls from the bantustan clan. Devilish clan is on the scene, unfortunately being pushed and led by a known satanist. Zambians lets pray very hard and push the son of the devil away from our children.is the stolen money not enough.

  15. All thanks to Dr Cuba for his good work
and for healing my brother for HIV sickness he was very sick for five years and my daddy have spend so much money on medical care and drug he have being taking to some many place for healing… even different pastor have pray for him it get worse every 6hous the man that heal with 6 mins is here the man that the lord god have giving the power to put every thing in place the man that give a word and never fail my kid brother was just chatting one day when he see this post of jack about the curing of HIV/ADIS virus by Dr Cuba he run to my daddy and tell him about the man my daddy decided to call him and confirm it if it is true about the cure the man just assure him about his work that the great power of is for father and his gods cure any disease…

  16. Comrade KK should have called a spade a spade, Hakainde ichilema is the character behind the current hatred in the country and misleading hundreds of young boys and girls into his pass time he trying to offload to PF via Dandy Crazy

  17. I listened to KK during Mandela’s funeral and wondered. His speech was too myopic and irrelevant. Though I gave him the benefit of doubt due to age, I felt he was not the appropriate leader of Zambia immediately afer independence. If there was no civil war after independence, he ought to have steered Zambia to greater heights. Thus he is partly to be blamed for the current social and economic woes. He is therefore not a man to be taken seriously, his age notwithstanding. A leader with no tangible vision.

    • Yes, I felt embarrassed that here was my President fumbling at such an august gathering. There are no free lunches in life. You grow old and you start being forgetful and you are no longer sharp in your thinking. Forgive him.

  18. Kaunda is supporting Lungu because he is an easterner. He never supported Chiluba and Mwanawasa. During Kaunda’s reign the easterners had it nice. A lion’s share of important appointments used to go to the easterners. Yes, Zambians will support Lungu if he will do well but if he will be deaf to constructive criticism like his predecessor then he should forget about the support of many.

  19. He can say that, does he? His son is a deputy minister in govt. No wonder. This man just loves the limelight – he should rest. Zambia is worse than when it was under white rule. What freedom is he talking about? Lying to the young generation. This is why all top Zambian officials go to S Africa for top class medical care. Because it was the last white-ruled country in Southern Africa. that is the honest truth.

  20. Only one positive in yesterdays parliamentary address, doing away with the policy of building houses for former presidents. The rest is all talk, hoodwink & do nothing and the gullible Zambians will vote for me. Kick him out in 2016.
