Zambia kick-off 2017 Group E qualifiers at home

Zambia will kick-off their 2017 Africa Cup Group E qualifiers with a home game on June 13.

The 2012 champions have been drawn in Group E alongside Guinea Bissau, Kenya and 2015 Africa Cup quarterfinalists Congo-Brazzaville.

Zambia will host Guinea Bissau in the two sides first-ever meeting on that date at a venue to be announced.

They will return to action for match-day-two on September 6 when they visit Kenya in Nairobi in their last Group E qualifying game of 2015.

Zambia will resume its qualifying race on March 24, 2016 when they host Congo-Brazzaville and four days later visit the latter in the final leg.

Chipolopolo will then make a historic first trip to Bissau on June 4 in their penultimate Group E match before hosting Kenya on September 3.

The group winner will qualify for the Gabon finals while the runner-up will battle for one of two second best places up for grabs in the group’s of four teams.

  1. Ok this will be easy but the current coach must go. Even Ba Fordson Kabole can do a better job. Currently, he is one of the most experienced coaches we have and most senior.

    • Yeah but knowing FAZ they are waiting until he loses the first three matches. Then they will start hurrying up and down to look for a coach.

  2. What a tough group.Congo Brazzaville and Equatorial guinea will be tough opponents.Good luck Zambia

    • This is not a tough group unless Zambia want to make heavy weather of qualifying. Congo were a force long ago. The Kenyans dont raise any expectations in their country, Guinea could be beaten blindfolded by a Zambia with a good coach.

    • @Soccer Anal
Think you know real soccer? First find a grade 7 chap to lecture you on how to use an atlas or just teach you the names of African countries by rote.

    • It’s Guinea Bissau not Equatorial Guinea. Looks like an easy group but we need to work hard for qualification still. No home draws this time, wins only will be welcome. Like Kalaba said, Zambia needs to qualify to the world cup 2018, so Africa shud just be a walk in the park. Kalusha aad his entire team shud step down now an so we can assemble a winning team.

  3. ba soccer analyst umungulu tawawama imwe mwamonapo na equatorial guinea apa pene?

  4. Tough group for all concerned.Congo and Zambia to qualify but football is full of surprises

  5. Stop talking about the coach mates. You wanted a local coach and not a PE teacher or what ever you called him (HR). Janza kumbele Honor our winning local coach.

  6. It not a suprise for us (Kenya) to be the last in the group. We have no hope in football due to poor management by the officials and lack of interest by the govt. We are only involved in athletics where our only threat in africa is Ethiopia. I know you(Zambia) will beat us hands down. I wish you all the best to lead in the group because as the saying goes, ‘if you can’t beat them, join them’.

  7. let zambia not underate any team in their group it may cost them shall not to qualify to Gabon-2017

  8. let the so called mighty chipolopo underate these countries or the May shall it .
