Football House says it is in touch with South Africa based players following the recent break out of xenophobic attacks in that country.
Eight migrants are reported to have been killed in a wave of xenophobic attacks that have occured mostly in South Africa’s KwaZulu Natal Province.
FAZ spokesperson Nkweto Tembwe said Football House has since advised Zambian players in South Africa to be cautious owing to the attacks on foreigners.
“So far all is well but caution has been given to our players,” Tembwe said.
High crime levels in South Africa have always been a global concern.
“We are continuously monitoring the situation in South Africa.We have been in touch with players but everybody is OK,” Tembwe said.
Zambian players playing in South Africa includes Mpumalanga Black Aces striker Collins Mbesuma, Christopher Katongo of Bidvest Wits, Mamelodi Sundowns’ Kennedy Mweene, Mwape Musonda of Orlando Pirates and Ajax Cape Town winger Clifford Mulenga among others.
The sooner these acts of hooliganism fades away, the better. No sane human being can treat a foreign national so unceremoniously in the name of seeking/ creating employment vacancies. Shame on them.
I said zambia shouldnt depend on other nations, for anything even air transport . How do you know what your neighbour will decide to do the other day. What would you do if he changes his mind about your needs. Now if are wise you would judge for yourself
