Kalulushi reclaim Division 1 North top spot

Kalulushi Modern Stars bounced back at the top of the FAZ Division One North table after beating Lumwana Radiants 1-0 in a midweek match at Independence Stadium in Kalulushi.

Kalulushi had relinquished the Division One North lead on Sunday after suffering a 1-0 loss at Chindwin Sentries in Kabwe.

In Wednesday’s Week 12 tie, a 77th minute goal by Cephas Handavwe helped Kalulushi to topple Lumwana and open a one point lead.
Kalulushi are sits on 23 points, one above now second placed Lumwana, after 12 games.

Mufulira Blackpool moved from 5th to 3rd position following a 2-1 victory at Zesco Solwezi.

Blackpool have 21 points while Zesco remain stuck on 10 points.

Roan United moved two places down into fifth position after they were held to a 1-1 draw by visiting Indeni at Kafubu Stadium in Luanshya.
Coach John Lungu’s Roan sits on 20 points and Indeni have 18 points.

Promoted Real Nakonde continued with their impressive form as they thumped struggling Konkola Mine Police 2-0 in Chililabombwe.
Fourth placed Nakonde have 20 points.

Meanwhile, the promotion campaign has remained tight in the northern region with only three points separating the top five teams on the table.
